In middle school once I told some classmates that I'll submit a blank piece of paper and say it's a polar bear in the snowstorm. I think I heard that joke from my dad, it was in the late 2000s, before we had internet. One of my classmates snatched the idea, submitted a blank piece of paper saying that it's a bunch of arctic rabbits and a white goose throwing snowballs at a polar bear... both of us were rejected.
The other thing is a wholesome story from later. I was around 14 when we were taken out to a park to draw a statue of a vase. Everyone from the class, around 25 children drew it in 2d, many of them drew it really accurately and with clean lines and I was jealous of them. Then the teacher told me I was the only one who drew it in 3d, (with a really broken perspective and messy lines of course) the way it was visible from the angle I was looking at it. That teacher always encouraged me to make draw because they saw me enjoying it, but I was always frustrated for not knowing any basics of drawings so I didn't draw again until I was 19 when I started digital, and only getting back into traditional drawing last year. Being 26 now and feeling self conscious now about not starting properly earlier, that might be the biggest regret of my entire life.
