Just a comment, Ape, could you use 2 toroids say with 4-5 turns through both of them, to sort of double the amount of inductance on the cable? Awesome video. 73, ZL3XD.
I’d imagine it would help, I’ve never tried though. I will say the heavy duty USB cable I bought has one at each end but I think they are for higher frequencies 👍
New tech ticket and little money. Only thing I have to do is hit a DMR repeater less than 15 miles away with 5 watts.Won't be dealing with problems like this for a few decades.
Congrats on the ticket. I was a ham for about 4 years before getting into digital, granted it wasn’t that popular, and close to 5 years before deciding to get a radio like this and take the general test. It will be waiting for you when you are ready 👍
Great vid! I've put the beads on my USB cable - thanks for the info on the number of passes on the beads. Cheers and 73 from VK
Glad to hear it's working for you!
Excellent video Sir. I wish I had answers to help. It's a constant battle.
Thanks 2H, it’s something to keep me busy for sure 👍
Good video! - looks like you are on the right path to clearing up as much of the hash as you can.
Thanks 741, I do need to get an RFI kit. The thing is sometimes it’s not bad at all, others it shuts everything down. Thanks for watching 👍

Yes you could but two cores doesn't necessarily mean "double"
What would happen if you put two in series for a total of 7 wraps? Serious question from a newbie to Ham radio.

Good info man looking forward to part two
Thanks UC, glad you liked it 👍
A leatle linear ps 6V is the solution. I get it!😁
Yeah, RFI sucks... and once you get the noise from the Pi cleaned up, you will find something else to chase. :) Good video man.
Yeah, seems never ending. Thanks for watching 👍
RFI.....trying to find all the causes is never ending!
Hey Ron! It can test a fellers nerves... 👍

@@TheSmokinApe I can't afford to buy good equipment for the bands my tech license grants but I may take the general in the future.
