It's easier to think of these when you have had time to better evaluate the situation, sadly if you wake up already in these traps and on a timer, panic will overcome your thought process.
People like Amanda for instance, she activated her own timer when she pulled the pin. She had time to sit there & think about it. Not everyone could but still
One small detail was missed in the bathroom trap. The saws weren't meant to be used at all if Adam had been careful when he woke up. He had the key to the lock on his chain on his chest when he was lying in the bathtub. When he sat up abruptly, the tub drained and the key went down the drain as well. He could easily have freed himself and Gordon had he caught the key in time. Many of Jigsaw's traps have solutions in which the victim is only slightly or not physically harmed at all. But still, it's impossible not to panic being put into these situations.
Definitely not, that was just a dick move by Amanda. The last thing you would do if you woke up from a nap in bed at your house submerged completely in water is think “I should be calm and search this bathtub for a key in case I need to free myself and some man I’ve never met from a maniacs torture trap” Also, Jigsaw was alive in there and Zepp was watching the whole time, he would’ve just shocked them like he did towards the end if they tried an easy escape like that.
This is my main issue with the Saw movies (apart from being gross violence for the sake of violence). There are so many terrible people in the world, yet pretty much every person who is kidnapped and goes through these traps are there for the dumbest reasons. Not that I think anybody should be forced to go through this, but what about mass murderers, terrorists, animal torturers or something?
that candle guy was an IT consultant or something like that. by skipping work, he also fucked up his clients who paid him big bucks to develop anti-malware program etc... It's a good thing he died. Robert Hasudungan thats completely wrong, where’d you make that up from? The wiki clearly states he defrauded his health insurance company by pretending to be seriously ill
My highschool teacher once told the class about a fire drill that you can’t stop someone from panicking once it starts, so for everyone else who is calm, form a line and walk to the nearest exit lol
I’m a plumber that “rusty pipe” is actually cast iron and your not cutting through that with a hand saw. But however cast iron is brittle so if they were to hit it hard it would break apart. But it would have to be hit hard and with something hard. But everything else made sense to me
So his whole thing is to teach people a lesson to appreciate life & be a better person. The 1st person to successfully accomplish his traps & beat his game, had to kill her friend & ended up working for Jigsaw, were she went on to rig traps & kill a bunch of other people. So what he actually accomplished was to turn a drug addict into a full blown serial killer. Nice work Jigsaw.
Those 400+ ppl that have liked ur comment have all died from the saw trap. This guy is telling the facts it’s up to a balance between survival instinct and thinking before you act.
Two notes about the Flammable Jelly trap: 1. A shard of glass big enough could be stabbed into the candle and used as a handle, to hold it further away from the body. 2. The code might have been written in some sort of ink that's only visible in the dark.

I feel bad for Adam, he technically won his challenge, yet he got killed. Worst thing is that Gordon lied to him, he said he would be back, he had the chance to go back and save him, but no.
It's funny because candle-trap guy, Gordon's family if Allie hadn't fought, and the dude Amanda just has to straight up kill to get her key were pretty much fucked for no reason, but Adam getting left in the bathroom was the point where I couldn't forgive Jigsaw. "Oh, you didn't get the key? ... eh. Bye!" worst customer service ever
Yeah, and it gets even worse when you find out John Kramer didn't intend for Adam to die. He wasn't lying when he said the key was in the tub, it was supposed to be there, but Kramer's apprentice was lazy and it went down the drain by accident. And then the apprentice went back later for Adam, but not to free him because of course they don't have multiple copies of that damn key, no the logical thing for her to do to this man her mentor wanted to live was to suffocate him! Adam deserved better and I'll always be salty he was killed that way.

Yeah, that was calculated to hit 10 minutes. Wasn't long enough with just the traps. Notice how the poster's previous video was literally a top 10 list. He clearly decided he wanted to push for more RUclips money at that point.
@@ventorath1211 to be fair, analysis videos are always more interesting when given the story plot/summary to go along with the main plot of the video itself (how to survive the traps). A channel called Dead Meat does this exact same thing. They do a kill count, but give an entire synopsis of the movie, deleted scenes, explanations, interviews, and more before getting to the kills. Once they've summarized the movie, while adding in some fun facts into the video, they get to the kills at the end, including male/female ratio and average time it takes to reach a kill throughout the movie. It's A LOT more fun and interesting than just watching people die while we have a tally go up without any further information. It makes the videos much more entertaining to watch and has even coerced me into watching some of the movies because of his content. This isn't a bad thing and I really like how this guy did it with Saw, personally.
That's actually a plot point for Kramer. If I remember right, there was a deleted scene with the doctor in Saw 3 where he admits to her (granted, this was partially a manipulation strat against Amanda as part of her own test) that his mission failed. The people who survived didn't come out better, but worse. You have people who returned to their self-destructive habits, now out of grief for their trauma or people who lash out at others. And those that survived and joined him, Amanda, and the cop were corrupt, were no better. You had Amanda, who just perverted his ideas into a twisted form of worship for Kramer, not his ideology, and felt no one else was worthy of "redemption," and then there's the cop who... let's be fair, was just a dirty cop who used the Jigsaw identity to kill people. He lements that once he dies, instead of being seen as someone who helped others... he will be seen as a murderer. Which, I don't know... I feel like people in this universe already thought that of him given, you know, the grizzly scenes of pain and anguish that the police find? It's still a great series, but Jigsaw's philosophy is full of holes and contradictions. In Saw 3, everyone in the traps is dead no matter what unless the film's main character actively intervenes and is often at significant risk for himself. I understand his test is to see if he can let go of his anger and forgive the people involved, the truck driver that killed his son, the witness that said nothing, the judge who didn't give the driver the adquent sentencing for the crime, the man who kidnapped his wife and had a shotgun collar placed around her neck... and so on. Heck, do I even have to mention about how Jigsaw allowed Amanda to kidnap and kill that detective woman JUST because she was getting closer to discovering the truth? Despite the fact she didn't fit into his motives? And on top of that, she did the trial. She put her hand in burning acid, likely ruining her career in law-enforcement to get the key... only to realize it was fake.
@@kiearawagner7901to be fair the game was made by Amanda, who rigged all of her games, not John. I’m not saying he’s right, I’m just saying this particular trap wasn’t approved by him
Poor Candle Guy. Jigsaw's philosophy is intriguing, but it's pretty clear that it was highly under-developed in this movie. Even the smoking janitor from Part 6 was a more justifiable victim than Candle Guy.
I don't think it's under developed I think it's realistic. He's just a fuckin crazy guy with a knack for traps. Candle guy and the janitor prove that jig's justifications are just the thoughts of someone who needs to be put down. (I'd say someone who needs serious help but he was beyond help)

If that's what they were threatening you with it's over! Just sit tight, or at least take your time to get out safely. You're no longer racing against time so badly! I bet jigsaw was confused seeing that lol like "wait. WTF is this idiot doing?!?!"
He was probably overcome with anguish and anger hearing his family potentially dying, sawing his foot off because of those emotions. I know he thought his family was dead, but denial set in and he probably thought if he did as told, there'd be a sliver of a chance they could still be alive, even if only 1%.
Jigsaw is a hypocrite, he talks about the value of life in one film where the former detective is reckless moving a body. Yet he puts you in a situation where you need to murder someone for a key or die or mutilate yourself and panic. Just another deluded serial killer. And has innocent people held hostage as part of the game. He also left the guy to starve to death at the end which contradicts what he said to his staff about proving a way out.
Jigsaw isn't a hero, he's not an anti-hero, he's not even an anti-VILLAIN. He's just a fucking psychopath. He forces people to face absurd odds and incredible pain in the name of justice for sometimes minor crimes. Sometimes, innocent people fall victim to his delusions. He's just a crazy old man with even crazier disciples, and I'm happy to tell you the only remnant of that Jigsaw is in The Entity's realm right now.
@@peterdesu5860 He was basically dead at that point anyway. I don't remember if they said how many days he spent there before he got killed, but it was probably a week.
The candle trap's victim is always misunderstood.. He is not in the trap for 'skipping work'.. He is in the trap for insurance fraud... It is implied heavily that he is on some kind of worker's compensation which he is claiming because he is physically unable to work, yet Jigsaw has pictures of him constantly up and about.. This is a common insurance scam in the US and the types of pictures Jigsaw has of this man are the type that investigators use in court against those involved in this scam...
Given Saw takes place in a major metropolitan area, the seriousness of the Saw murders and lengths to which the police would go to solve them, and the outrageously long period of time Zep had to work with, then getting that hardware should be a piece of cake, assuming he was actually being poisoned or that Saw somehow managed to obtain a super rare, black market, and, thus, super expensive poison on a former engineer’s salary.
I disagree, John doesn't want his victims to freak out. He wants those tested to think. Granted the traps are designed to test the weaknesses of victims, but they are meant to fight those weaknesses
If he didn’t want them to freak out, why time them? Also why have the timer sometimes start literally when they wake up, giving them no time to think calmly and critically? Didn’t say he was basically testing their will to live and through that making them appreciate life and live better from then on? Some might test their morality or tie into why they are there but none of them really test their actual weaknesses (alcohol, drugs, unhealthy habits, etc.) Testing their weakness would be like “Choose your vice or to save this person’s life”.
Also, you probably wouldn't think that your captive would put an easy way out while in a deadly trap like those, thinking he wanna kill you and have fun is more likely.
@@ssharkbait I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of the clock/timer, but I know a lot of people who don't get it either. John had cancer. He was told he only had so much TIME left. After the car crash he realized that even if he had a LIMITED TIME left that he should live it and not let his "problem" stop him. Basically most people only think about their own mortality and their remaining TIME left after they are given a TIME LIMIT.
I have a question: Why would Gordon just leave Adam in there? He crawled out and so he obviously would know where the place they were trapped in was. Did he not bring the police there? He knew Adam was still stuck so why wouldn’t he have sent someone to help him? I haven’t seen any of the movies so if this is answered in another movie I apologize

8:07 the ''man in the the pig suit'' is actually a woman, Amanda. Also, I don't think you covered how adam was supposed to win, which was probably with the key that was in the bathtub he woke up in.
the man in the pig suit thing was a mistake (i switched too little between watching the movie and writing the script when making this video), but it's still unclear what adams test was, it's often debated because it's never explained and it was probably brought up in another cut of the film. But with the information we're given we can only assume that his test was to survive... everything beyond that is speculation i think.
@@HitStartYT it was clearly stated in the movie that the key to adams chains was in the bathtub but it went down the drain at the beginning of the movie John even tells him as he wakes up (he literally said "the key to that chain is in there" and pointed to the tub) and in the 3rd movie I think? It gets revealed that amanda screwed Adam over by haphazardly tossing the key into the tub
@@Okomi874 you're right, I messed that up... what I meant was that it was unclear what Adams real test was. Dr Gordon's was to kill Adam, Zep was to oversee the game but Adams test was always a little unclear. Thanks for pointing that out.
HitStart Adams test was likely simply to survive I believe. Like many people in saw, his purpose was to be a part of a grander game, meant for Dr Gordon and Zepp.
The shotgun trap could have been beaten. If the Officer was paying attention to the floor he could have noticed the wire and instead of stepping on it he could have knelt and tugged on it. Tugging on the wire would have set the guns off so he could continue on. Anything can be used as a death trap so you gotta be careful.
Not to mention that in order to reach the position where Jigsaw was he had to have gone through the webs, but it looked untouched, i remember it set off my Spidey sense when I saw that scene and the webs weren’t destroyed in the chase
Why would he tug on it at all? Doing so still sets off 5 shotguns aimed in his general vicinity and probably kills him, whereas simply stepping over it means it doesn't go off at all.
"the trick to all of these is to not panic" me, with an anxiety disorder that would undoubtedly go off if i were kidnapped and shoved into a life or death situation where i'd die horribly: *chuckles* im in danger
I don't think panicking when waking up in an old ass room with a rusty ass metal contraption that a puppet says is gonna bust your head in two is exclusive to people with anxiety disorders
Also, the way I see it, telling people to not panic in this situation is like telling poor people to stop being poor. It's one thing to say not to panic if this were a situation most people are familiar with, but how many times in history has someone suddenly woken up in a place they don't know anything about with weird and painful things attached to their bodies, then being instructed by someone who speaks in riddles most of the time and has a puppet as his main persona? I'm pretty sure only a few people wouldn't outright panic in the situations Jigsaw puts them in.
@@Manglet762 Except telling someone that they should try not to panic is actually a useful and applicable suggestion. I don't see how it's comparable to telling someone to just stop being poor. HitStart didn't say, "In order to escape, you should escape".

From adrenaline, fear and instincts, it’s hard. Lastly.. Some of the traps in Saw 3+ are rigged and therefore impossible to escape
I think he won't include the rigged ones in the video Also, the idea is how to escape the trap itself, not what would happen after. Although I think Jigsaw could *maybe* consider letting anyone who dodge/beat the trap in any way go free since it technically served his purpose of 'making anything to survive/valuing your life' or whatever
Adriana's Abode true. So many of the traps have 1 minute, to understand where you are, figure out what the puzzle is, and then solve the puzzle. All under the pressure of an unfamiliar situation and the threat of death. These movies were entertaining but do not have the deep meanings some people try to give them.
@@steves1015 I mean, it's not that they don't have a deeper meaning necessarily. It all depeneds on what the creators thought when making them, of course, but even then, art is subjective and is sometimes said to be co-created by the viewer as much as the author. If anyone sees something meaningful there, more power to them! I think the problem is that there are some people who unironically agree with Jigsaw's principles. I know I just said you can interpret art however you want, but some lines of thinking are just dangerous. Personally, I think that apart from being "entertaining horror" movies, they show how high and mighty people like Jigsaw feel, how they treat other human beings as below them, and how they'll go to lengths to prove their point, basically cheating by making impossible trials. It's almost like they're constructing a virtual strawman to show the world, "See? People can't beat my traps, so my ideology is right!"
i dont think he was arguing that these traps are easy to get out of, its just a video talking about how to get out of the traps for fun/educational purposes
i'm just gonna leave this here: knowing how to beat the puzzles, and *actually* beating them are two different things. they are more than just mere puzzles, and the people chosen to participate in them, in most cases, are people who most likely would not abide by the rules, or remain calm and do the smart thing of scanning your surroundings and stuff. jigsaw uses these puzzles to either force them to just do anything quickly without much time to think, or for them to die because of their... incompetence.
I swear, that razor-wire trap with the supposedly suicidal guy... that was the first time in the series where I thought that if I were the one in the trap, my first thought would be "Well... this is where I die." I wouldn't have even tried (of course, I hadn't thought of taking off the underwear and using it as a glove) I would have just curled into a ball to avoid the razor wire while I slept, using my arm as a pillow.

The 1st person to successfully accomplish his traps & beat his game, had to kill her friend & ended up working for Jigsaw, were she went on to rig traps & kill a bunch of other people. I feel bad for Adam, he technically won his challenge, yet he got killed.

@@Gamealishis but dont you feel bad for Adam?
Yeah, and it gets even worse when you find out John Kramer didn't intend for Adam to die. He wasn't lying when he said the key was in the tub, it was supposed to be there, but Kramer's apprentice was lazy and it went down the drain by accident. And then the apprentice went back later for Adam, but not to free him because of course they don't have multiple copies of that damn key, no the logical thing for her to do to this man her mentor wanted to live was to suffocate him! That's because the Saw franchise is very...light on plot.
That's to make video 10 minutes long so he get more money
Facts
Amanda: being in a jigsaw trap made me quit drugs.
Most people: being in a jigsaw trap made me do even MORE drugs.

Candle Boy was truly innocent. His death is what haunted me the most out of all the films.

And has innocent people held hostage as part of the game. He also left the guy to starve to death at the end which contradicts what he said to his staff about proving a way out.

Zep enjoyed the temporary power Jigsaw gave to him. Also he underestimated Gordon and Adam's team work.
Tell that to the Covid pandemic

Oh come on man, even the Riddler would have trouble with some of this shit lol
@@ssharkbait I think you are misunderstanding the purpose of the clock/timer, but I know a lot of people who don't get it either. John had cancer. He was told he only had so much TIME left.

The video that we didn't ask for it but we needed.
The shotgun trap could have been beaten. If the Officer was paying attention to the floor he could have noticed the wire and instead of stepping on it he could have knelt and tugged on it. Tugging on the wire would have set the guns off so he could continue on. Anything can be used as a death trap so you gotta be careful.
or just fucking step over lol
Theres a reason he put a tripwire in a spot where most people would be fighting the cobwebs

"the trick to all of these is to not panic"
me, with an anxiety disorder that would undoubtedly go off if i were kidnapped and shoved into a life or death situation where i'd die horribly: *chuckles* im in danger
I don't think panicking when waking up in an old ass room with a rusty ass metal contraption that a puppet says is gonna bust your head in two is exclusive to people with anxiety disorders
you’re so quirky man
Lol
Damn, so Doctor just left Adam there to die after he saved his life...
He told him he was going to get help. Crawling on his belly as he was bleeding from his leg. He collapsed in the hallway when John came and rescued him.
The way to escape the Saw traps is to not be an asshole so Jigsaw doesn’t kidnap you.

Hello, i'm Lockpickinglawyer and today a psychopath locked me up in this cell, claiming that the lock preventing my freedom is impossible to pick. I have only 10 minutes to escape and if i fail or run out of time, a neurotoxin in a form of gas will start come from the ventilation of this place. Causing a horrible and slow death.
So, for today, happen that i don´t have my equipment, but i can try to make a tool from the buckle of my belt. Now, let's try to pick it.
As we can see, this lock looks nasty , but let's give it a try. "click out of one, two is bending, a little click out of 3, *CLICK* a good click out of 4, and nothing out of 5" . Let´s do it again, click out of one "locks opens up".
As you can see, this lock was actually possible to pick, in fact, it was quite easy. I will take it to my home and disassemble it.
But first, i have one more thing to do.

The only problem is that SAW is watching so he’d probably walk in and be like “Cheater” then blast their brains out.
Hoffman survived the jaw trap, and Jigsaw did squat. So I doubt that he'll interact with the victim if they survive. Plus he intends to keep easter eggs in his traps to make the victim survive without any consequences.

He won according to the rules
@stripe801 Amanda wasn't an apprentice yet here.

Another way to escape the foot torcher chamber trap is that using some heavy objects in the room you could use it to break your foot and then it will be easier to wriggle your foot out of the chains. :)
See Saw 3 ;)
In Saw 1, the man who's Literally a Doctor can't tell that the "Corpse" is still alive.
That's how panicked most people would be.
Edit: this clear out any Confusion, I am saying the Trained Doctor was Extremely freaked out, as most people would be.
Good luck remembering what to do in those situations.
he also injected himself with a sedative so strong it drastically lowered his heartrate and blood pressure, which you'd know if you watched the movie

@@Rensune Except there's supposedly chemicals that can make medical machines not tell you're alive... And you want him to do it visually without even touching the body?
@@Rensune Go rewatch the movie. Seriously. in the last 15 minutes he explains how he played dead. And it was literally via injection
@@PrinceDamienSilves I'm familiar with the explanation.
It's movie magic and Plot convenience, Not realistic (Unless he was a Very poor Doctor.)
We can't even use the fact that he's an accomplice because he doesn't become one until later.
I find it hard to believe that the doctor wouldn’t have checked the corpse pulse just out of habit.
He couldn’t have even reached the corpse
Plus Jigsaw took something to slow down his pulse.
With his fucking mind?
My response: You’d be killed by the trap for cheating/or by John or his apprentices.
Secondly, the victim would not have enough time to think in the moment of certain death. From adrenaline, fear and instincts, it’s hard.
Lastly.. Some of the traps in Saw 3+ are rigged and therefore impossible to escape
I think he won't include the rigged ones in the video
Also, the idea is how to escape the trap itself, not what would happen after. Although I think Jigsaw could *maybe* consider letting anyone who dodge/beat the trap in any way go free since it technically served his purpose of 'making anything to survive/valuing your life' or whatever
That is true

LockPickingLawyer vs. Saw traps: "I escaped this master engineer's trap using a KitKat wrapper"
i'm just gonna leave this here:
knowing how to beat the puzzles, and *actually* beating them are two different things.
they are more than just mere puzzles, and the people chosen to participate in them, in most cases, are people who most likely would not abide by the rules, or remain calm and do the smart thing of scanning your surroundings and stuff. jigsaw uses these puzzles to either force them to just do anything quickly without much time to think, or for them to die because of their... incompetence.
