I haven’t seen the anime yet, but the clips and trailer I’ve seen give me the impression that the mc is a man that has seen so much violence and has lived such a long life of not being able to be killed or harmed, that he’s lost his humanity and moral compass, and the things he will experience, on top of an executioner that can present him consequences in the form of being able to kill him, is what may bring back his humanity.
