I know I’m very late. But yes you can over cool your engine which can lead to overheating your engine. This is because when the engine is too cool your thermostat will close preventing cool water flowing around your engine so your car will increase in temp until it overheats
I’d love to get shit sent too me , been trying to stage 2 my car for a year now , cost me £1000 for parts now needing to save for the map , suppose I’m just a normal guy who pays for things myself lol

About to get an airtech intercooler for my fk2, was set on black but all other youtube videos are advising do not go for painted intercooler it runs hotter and can't dissipate the heat as good.
You were correct in what you had found out about the stock intercooler being partially covered as to different climates. Great install video. Your ST is turning into a beast bit by bit.👍

Just about to stage 2 my focus st250, got full cobra sports exhaust system with de cat, forge motorsport induction kit, airtec stage 2 intercooler, vibratechnics engine mount, mountune re circulation valve, got all parts from scc performance st alban's on finance which is a great option if you want to go big in 1 go saves all the messing around

I’m not sure where u are from but there is a place in north wales called BD performance they are amazing with anything ford they specialise in ford ST and RS in tuning and modifying its where I take my mk2 st they know exactly what they are doing and make sure it’s done properly I highly recommend them if u want anything doing

Hey brother I'm assuming you have factory boost pipes when you did your install originally is that right? I got my intercooler in the mail today I'm going to install it tomorrow morning I just want to make sure that I can still use my factory boost pipes and they will fit the inlets and outlets?

B7... I NEED YOUR OPINION. I can't decide on what RS to get I love the white RS with the gloss black, I hardly see any white ones about, but I do like the blue in the sunlight it just pops I can't decide what one to go for :/
Blue is the signature colour. White could just be an ST.

For me a mk2 has to be green and a mk3 blue. It's no fun having the same colour as a 1.0 ecoboost.

Make sure u declare your mods or voided insurance will be the outcome. I learnt the hard way and got no payout at all now I'm going to court to pay legal fees which I've been told is around 2-4 grand

I was lucky, when I was Tommy's age I had a cossie and a house. I had a decent paying job, Mrs had a job and houses were cheap. These days houses are a lot expensive. Might as well enjoy what you can while you're young but keep an eye on the future.

if you took the covered part of the standard intercooler of and it would be overcooling the airtec one will be doing the same
which means it doesn't matter in the uk as its not that cold else airtek wouldn't make the intercooler cheers steve😀
