So good to have the contract poo haulers!! The job gets done quicker and you don’t have to even worry about breakdowns and upkeep on a pump that only gets used a few times a year. The poo foam coming out of the grates looked like some sort of a horror movie. Thanks so much for all you time and efforts that it takes to film and produce these videos. Loved the drone footage.
The aerial shot of the farm is such wonderful expression of how you and your dad are so meticulous about how you represent dairy farmers. The farms in the distance also add to the beauty!
For at thick as that far end gets, it might have been worth while to keep that dryhill pump and just stick it in at that end as a second mixing pump while they haul/agitate with their vortex at the other end. I’ve dealt with pits like that, and having a 2nd pump to just mix makes it so much easier. Cheers to a great Christmas for you and your families!
"Cows like their cornflakes......they provide the milk"🤣😂🤣😂🤣. Did NOT see that one coming. My whole farming life I fought that "it's better to do it yourself" generational instinct. We used to change truck tires with crowbars, driving another truck over the edge to break the bead, reseating the bead with starting fluid and a match. Seemed right at the time, makes me cringe now. Your time and efficiency has value, sometimes a hard value to hold. You and your dad seem to have mastered that well.👍
I love those drone shot accompanied by the perfect music. I just watched Tom Penderton’s new tank bubbled. It is so interesting to see how slurry is managed depending on the variables.
Good line Eric, "they supply the milk"! Those guys doing the liquid manure seems to know what their doing, very deliberate at placing the agitator in the pit. I really like those aerial shots. Great video, thanks for sharing, have a safe and wonderful weekend!
Love the drone video shots. We can see where the fields are in relation to the buildings and how far the tanker has to drive. Glad the people you hire have the equipment to do the job well!
starting at 11:23, those drone shots remind me of my childhood. Ah, what beautiful memories... The whole pit hole openings though; they make me nervous just seeing them on screen because I can not even imagine how easily a person could accidentally fall into those holes and that death, to me, would be questionable between that and fire....
Makes perfect sense to have custom haulers that size equipment is outrageously expensive! Getting done right in one day is worth more than that! Do you harvest any grain or do you make silage out of your whole crop and then buy grain? That self propelled pump is sweet!
Request, Eric: Anytime there are eggs and bacon involved with breakfast, we request a quick cut shot of the cooking process. Makes me motivated to cook my own.
What I like about Eric's channel above other farming channels is that he quietly explains the work he's doing without being loud and garish. And there's always a good mix shown of the work being done around the farm 👍
Both my wife and I grew up on farms. When we drive past a farm that has just spread manure, I say " I love that small as it DOESN'T smell like houses".
This problem with addition is the reason why whe have an Holland two pits between each other, with a fixed mixer. So you can mix it round a few times before its full.
As I've said in the past, it's good to see the day to day operation of your farm so people understand what goes on to get the milk to the fridge. Great video. Stay safe.
Another great video! The drone shots are awesome!! In ALL seriousness, take care of that eye. Start right away with warm soaks(get a bath cloth as hot as you can stand it and gently apply to you eye). As one in the industry, it’s simply a “stye”=clogged pore. Wash your face well at the end of the day.
@@10thgenerationdairyman61 yessir. I’ve been an eye care rep and in Pharma for years. I’ve also had a “stye” and hot soaks can help if not alleviate the clogged pore. More than likely it’s a clogged pore and hot soaks will help it drain. Not contagious like conjunctivitis. Whatever you do, DO NOT squeeze it. You want the infection liquid to slowly drain. Doctor not needed unless it doesn’t get better. Remember that little infection is on your head and close to your brain. You don’t want that infection spreading. Best!!! Shoot me a message and let me know how it goes!!!
I think you are smart to hire out some jobs that you don't have time or investment to do yourselves. Sounds like it will save you some time and stress. Sometimes hiring a "professional" is just better money spent. Also, I love how clean your farm is! Its clear that you work really hard to keep it clean and mechanically sound. Everything seems to function, or you are working to get it functioning again.
Unfortunately for us, we have been having the same problem with our square floats. Water keeps filling them up in our heifer barn as well . Our older round ones never caused us any problems.
I think it awesome seeing you get more consistent with laying out the feed. The first few videos you made after getting the new feed mixer, was a little painful to watch. I’d love to see a 1000hr update on the Kubota. Quality content as always.
Really enjoying your blog. Hard work and passion coming through strongly there. So interesting on what you have to do to maintain healthy livestock & your legacy
Took me a moment then I got it .... "Cows like their cornflakes......they provide the milk" LOL at that 😂😂😂 ...said it before saying it again ... drone shots just magic ... adds so much to the video about farming etc ... thankyou 😊😊
It would be really cool to see what your view is when you’re shaving that silage from inside the skid loader. Also, how do you know how “deep” to shave off? I can’t imagine you have a very good view of the silage. Love the videos!!!
Who makes the wood shaving, spreading bucket for the skid steer? Do you think it would spread well composted or dried manure? I was watching some people that have a hot house, doing way more work than they needed to to fertilize their facility. Just saying that looks like it would work pretty nice? Just roll up the bottom of the wall on the frame and make a circle around it with the spreader.
Been watching this channel for a year or two. Took some time off but I'm back! Great content, super interesting for a guy like me. Thanks for doing what you do. I hope this is worthwhile for you. Also, I've never seen you look more tired than the last couple/three videos. Maybe it's a new baby? Netflix addiction? Drugs/alcohol? Thyroid? I dunno but it's worrisome enough to me to comment. Coming from a sincere place. I hope everything is good for you.
When you were mixing your feed with trinicale, you had a little left in your scoop. What does it hurt to just dump the last little bit in the mixer. I know your weighing but just seem to be that little bit of wasted time to take back and dump it on the pile. Thoroughly enjoy your videos.
Love the video,. Can you explain why the cows are eating more in the new barn? Also dont mind the dark videos...makes it more clear what you guys have to deal with.
Dude! Your channel is awesome. Just wanted to let you know that farming simulator and yourself have inspired me to go help at my aunt and uncle's dairy farm in upstate NY. Small operation but still lots to do. Thank you so much for your family's dedication and you bringing this awesome process to our eyes.
I loved your comment about the cow's corn flakes and them providing the milk.
Good to see the Eric cracking the dad jokes
Need milk for human's corn flakes. Win Win

Yes, I agree ! Great to see your whole set up
Now that removable gate, pole assembly was a great idea. 👍 Thumbs up. Great video
Farmers/ranchers are some of the best people at seein' a problem then implementing modifications to resolve! 👍🙏💪
Absolutely thank you dairy farmers!!!!! God bless you and your family and thank you so much for all you guys do!!!! Love watching your videos!!!
Ixxx lenta
GOD BLESS MY FARTS!!! **FARTS**
Drone shots and country music. Nice Cheers from New Zealand
That new barn pit got full quick!

That dryhill is actually a lagoon pump he would not have been able to fit it in the hole

Thanks for a great video, love the drone shots. Makes it easier to have someone come and do that, lots less stress on you and your equipment.
Loved this vid. Cutting the curb and making that post removable made things a breeze. Glad your working out the kinks

You and your dad make a great team, Eric! 🐮🐮🐮
Painting the fields black with homemade fertilizer. 👍👍👍
Your Farm is BEAUTIFUL !
GOD BLESS Y'ALL !!!
Love the drone video shots. We can see where the fields are in relation to the buildings and how far the tanker has to drive. Glad the people you hire have the equipment to do the job well!
I always wondered if you could mix the morning feed batch the afternoon or evening before.

Great farming ideas your farm is one of the best on RUclips good job guys!👍💪

Nice aerial view of the farm! I like seeing you get a second to sit down and chat in the gen den. Thanks (Robin)

You reached into the pit and I thought a soda was coming out!! Instead the glove!! Thanks for sharing!
The line on Christmas Vacation "Shiter Full" has a new meaning after this clip.
Eric, thanks for your commentary. As a city boy myself, I don’t think I would ever use the phrase, “high quality manure.” Cheers!

Is eating more at the new barn a positive improvement for cow health?
Yes they'll grow a bit faster
More or higher quality milk too?? Mooo🐄🐄💩💩💩👀👍‼️
Eric you have that newborn at home look! Thank you for these videos 💥
Very smart to consider hiring out jobs that are not practical to do
I sure miss those days working on the dairy farm my neighbors used to have that was just around the corner from my old stomping grounds.
As I've said in the past, it's good to see the day to day operation of your farm so people understand what goes on to get the milk to the fridge. Great video. Stay safe.
"They supply the milk!" Hilarious! Love it!
Buh-dum-tssh.
I love your videos they are so entertaining
More interesting content, thank you Eric!!

The classic comedic stylings of Eric... never misses!
Eric u and family r very much highly blessed and highly favored I can tell the hand of the LORD is upon you thanks for the awesome videos 🙏🙏👍👍
Unfortunately for us, we have been having the same problem with our square floats. Water keeps filling them up in our heifer barn as well . Our older round ones never caused us any problems.
There is a beauty to all of this, that many will never be able to comprehend.
Cows supply the milk for the corn flakes HAHAHA
We have a pit similar with openings at both ends . We agitate from both ends, for about a half an hour, when it’s time to pump it out .🇨🇦
A very nice farm! Love the drone video! Keep it going!
You farmers all work hard, great job guys.

LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS ERIC HAVE BLESSED DAY
Awesome guys ,,the drone was the best yet
Enjoyed the video. I like how you explain what's going on and showing it. Y'all stay safe and good luck.
“They supply the milk” I laughed way too hard at that!!!
Luv ur drone shots. Great skill. I always enjoy ur videos. Thank u.
Really enjoying your blog. Hard work and passion coming through strongly there. So interesting on what you have to do to maintain healthy livestock & your legacy
Nice editing; pleasure to watch.
Thought I had seen everything but today I saw the manure lagoon!
Very impressive outfit the Contractor has for shifting the slurry.
im from nyc and always been so interested in diary farms, love your content feels like im working with yall lol. keep em coming!
I really like your ranch, I'm also a farmer here in Mexico. Greetings Erick🌾🌽🤠
I know I am a dork but, "They supply the milk." is funny! 😆
Great video, thanks for posting!
You have a pretty good sense of humor at "O-dark-thirty" 'they supply the milk' lol
also...
Wow, the new pit is already full?
Is that toasted corn from your farm? “We give it to the cows, they supply the milk”! LOLOL!!!

Eric can mix feed with his eyes closed! Dont need more light out there lolol
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always!!
its dark out, folks. deal with it....and lets go brandon!
Really like the music choice during the drone video of him spreading... any idea the name of the artist?
That feed mixer was made in Dorchester, WI! We live like one town over from there! I’ve been at the place they manufacture those!
Always enjoy your videos Eric thanks for sharing .
That glove came out of the pit very clean Eric !!!
great video Eric. Thank you and sure glad the pits are empty
These video's are really well edited. Top content 👌
nice job, merry christmas to you and your family!
The circle of life, poo to fertilizer to plants to corn flakes and to poo again. Milk tastes better knowing how hard it is to produce. Thanks Eric!
When that ish started moving and overflowing I screamed eeewwwlll, I'm sure my neighbors heard me.

Have you thought about with the dry spot of your pit to somehow tie in a downspout in that area
In the Midwest here hardly no one spreads liquid manure like that anymore. They pretty much all knife it into the ground.
Good drone footage nice big fields

They did have a new baby about 4-5 months ago.
How much fertilizer (manure) does that tanker hold? And how many acres will one tank do? Thanks.
I think in the past he said the tankers were in the 7800 gallon range
Shaving the bunker silo is oddly satisfying

HI Eric you sure feed your cow's good and take grate care of them ! The milk must be grate!
Thanks Eric. Great video.
“They supply the milk” 🤣
Looks like you should look into the aerator system to save money. If you could air bubble stir the pit, that'd save time?
How did that additive do that your dad sprayed on top of the Bunkers?
Thanks for sharing!
What is the future of dairy farming for you? Would love to see a video on future plans for the dairy.
Is it expansion?Quality and marketing? Goals?
They supply the milk!
LOL
You should try and get a contractor with an umbellicle system for slurry. Puts out slurry a lot faster with a lot less compaction

Great video as always keep them coming
Great stuff man
Pleased that the modification to the pit access was a success. Nice save on the glove by the way. 🏴
Why are the heifers eating more than they used to when they were in the old barn? Does the barn make a difference?
must really like that glove
That’s like my septic tank except 100 times bigger lol. I was wondering how the cow brush is working?
