Yup, those 2 mods are the trickiest to set up, first time I tried donuts I got dead lobbies, then 2 raids of pmc overload, it never seems to be the in-between I'm looking for.

Right? Its not like the tool tips in the mod menus arent helpful (its far more than you get with most mods, the devs made the effort), but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Thankfully we now have StarVox.

I made the switch yesterday to SPT after an absence on live of roughly a year. I’ve got 6 mods running and performance is on par with live if not a little better. On Donuts specifically, I’ve selected PMCs to start with more scavs. Valens kit progression appears to be working. I’m having a great time! It’s great to be back.
Playing SPT without mods is terrible. The devs are very stubborn, amateurish and made some insane compromises. You will see almost no raiders on Reserve and almost no Rogues on Lighthouse in vanilla SPT.

You're welcome! Ground Zero is a wild map, it seems designed to provoke instant action. In this case, reducing bot aggression with SAIN would be a good move.
I didnt tweak Donuts because the video I watched was of an older version. The raid I was in was a constant swarm of PMC's and Scavs and was off the wall lol. Thank you for this video

Not really, I don't rearrange the spawn sites or anything. All I've done behind the scenes is reduce the overall bot count with Donuts. If you feel like the spawn sites need changing, check them with the Donuts debug mode.
Really gotta try this to better my performance. I'm using a RTX 3060 12GB with an i5 10600k and I'm getting 30-40 FPS using Donuts with no edits. I'm gonna try to tweak it as you show in the video in a bit, see if I get better results.
Ok. Played some raids on Reserve, medium graphics with some changes on SAIN and the settings shown in the video for Quiet Raids for Donuts. I got around 50-60 FPS mostly. I feel like I encountered a lot more bots than I should have. I was constantly fighting and also were the bots. When a lot of stuff was going on or when bots were spawning ( I suppose ) I got around 35-40 FPS. It was a lot better than before though, the frame drops were not very noticeable and the gameplay was mostly smooth. Thanks for the video and the amazing content StarVox!
You're welcome! Yeah, on further investigation of Reserve, I see that the spawn sites and rates are super numerous and high - designed for lots of activity. Those rates could be reduced in the Donuts config file's Reserve map parameters and the spawn sites modified, but I think it can remain as-is for now. It's just a dangerous place! Maybe I'll make another video about making the more intensive maps perform better.

Dear StarVox, i need some help with the spawn. So i use this mod and somehow no one spawning. Before i install the mod i had a problem where PMC and Scav only spawn at 10Minutes mark, most of the time boss spawn first then few minutes its PMC or Scav (rarely) its kinda frustrating to wait 10 minutes to just run into an AI
Be sure you have all the required mods and be sure they're updated. If not just download the newest versions and drop them in like normal and when it asks hit replace all files
Sounds like something is wrong with the mod installation. Be sure to install any dependencies that mod's need, like Big Brain and Waypoints. Also be sure that all versions are compatible for your game.

Thank you! Fortunately, load order doesn't usually come into play unless a mod specifically requires a certain position in the order. Also, the major mods have all be designed to adjust to one another when used together, like SAIN and the Realism mod for example. Furthermore, mod descriptions will state whether or not special actions need taken for mods with compatibility issues.

Ever since installing swag+donuts, it seems as though my sain settings are not taking effect. My spawn ratios are much better now, but bots will straight up shoot me through bushes and see me in completely unrealistic ways as opposed to how it worked previously with just sain... debugging is exhausting
this is a long shot but for some reason i don't have the PMC and SCAV raid preset selection option. after Other bot type spawn difficulty it goes straight to show random scenario selection. can't figure out why
i recently found your channel and love it. i havent played SPT since (and i had to check) Feb 2021. a lot has changed.... i downloaded the game and have been trying tto install the SPT-AKI but it keeps directing me to install 3.8.3. is there a way to install 3.8.0 or 3.8.1 as most of the mods in interested in are compatible for those version ? when i download the installer and run it, it shows 3.8.3 with no apparant option to change it to a preferred earlier version. apologies for being blind.
Thanks for the awesome and useful content! I’ve got a few questions because I notice that I feel less incentivised to use suppressors since there are no real players in SPT. Do bots behave differently or react whenever you shoot a suppressed weapon instead of unsuppressed, like do they pinpoint your location anyway? Do pmc bots follow the firing noise you make on the map(if they have a quest on pmc kills for example)? In general does it make sense to use suppressed weapons vs bots?
So, I actually don't know for sure in every case, but they are very practical with the Realism Mod, as they reduce deafening. Whether or not it reduces attention from bots, I can't say. I frequently use suppressors and still get found, so it seems pretty realistic. Definitely want to know for sure and I would be interested in arranging some tests for the channel. In general, I just like suppressors in the game and how they function for firearms - some of them look great and require a little extra building; all good things for immersion.
@@thestarvox It feels like bots will sometimes come running when I fire. Other times, they are completely deaf. I've often wondered if sneaking around a map is useful at all or if I can just stomp around and make all the noise I want, because bots seem oblivious to noise I make in general. Do bots "hear" me walking?
I use SAIN and SWAG+, but I get the impression that the bots, especially the PMCs, don't adopt the SAIN difficulty settings, they become predictable and a bit boring. Am I missing something in the SWAG+DONUTS settings?
Might be a ground zero issue but i killed 10 PMC before dying and i'm just lvl3 with medium SAIN difficulty (easy on goons) but there's more LVL10+PMC than i have ammo and i struggle to fix that, trying to edit the json "PMCBotLimitPresets" like i found on a reddit to see if it stop spamming me with rushing PMC as i'm trying to do first quests without prema fighting... But thanks to your video i'll try the only starting PMC version and see if it's better, i don't mind scavs spawning all the time like player scavs simulation through the raid, but so much PMC was not manageable for me so early on.

hey guys.. i need some help with the mod. Since i added this mod, there is always a 100% for the goons to spawn on each map they can spawn. Like Lighthouse and shoreline. Is there any way to decrease the chance of them spawning?
Remember Swag+donuts just affects bot spawns, it doesn't have any parameters that are gonna make the AI feel smarter. Idk what settings you're using for SAIN but for me personally i went with the default config and tweaked it slightly to make the AI react slightly slower and be a little less accurate, since my aim in eft is kinda potato lol. One way you could use donuts to help test things out is turn up the pmc group spawn chance, since the way they behave with SAIN is noticeably different from vanilla. In my experience they are a solid challenge, even with my slightly nerfed default config. They should be talking to each other a lot, using suppressing fire/flanking tactics, throwing grenades, etc. If they don't seem to be doing those things there might be something wrong with your install. Make sure you have drakiaxyz's bigbrain and waypoints installed, otherwise neither SAIN nor donuts works properly
Can you expand on the "bot hard cap option"? I know it caps the bots to a preset. But where do I set the number of bots? Say I want to cap my raids at 10 to help with performance. Where do I select "10" for the cap? I don't see that anywhere.
I have an older PC (which I am about to replace) and I think that may be the cause of my issues, but I would like to get your input please? When I first boot into any raid with a bot debugging tool on like yours I see 0 bots, and then about 2 or 3 mins later, 1 will spawn in, then maybe another, no matter what settings I put the mod onto it doesn't seem to make any difference. Could it just be due to having an older system which cannot handle generating the bots at any 1 time?
I *think* that's only possible on the AK-12 and -15, since they have the large rear iron sight socket. Not sure if I've tried it with any other assault rifles or carbines, but I may have. Anyway, it's just possible whenever I try it in the Trader Modding interface, so I try it when I feel a little outrageous.
Okay, so we were trying to figure this out on Discord this morning and I really can't remember what mod enables that, lol. I've been checking through, though, and I'll be finalizing my 3.8 mod list today - so hopefully I'll find out before long. Does anyone know how to make the boss spawn markers work more consistently? I have some raids that will spawn a dozen bosses (or whatever I selected) and most raids I get NO spawns at all.
Hi...can you make a detailed video about how to use SAIN..when using SAIN I get this message on top..selected preset version:2.2.1 but current preset version is 2.2.0 default bot config values maybe set incorrectly due to updates to SAIN
Already did. That message is just telling you that the current presets hadn't been updated to match the new SAIN changes yet. You can just make a new preset and it will be created with the new system.
I have one complaint and maybe it's something that a setting can change, but the bots in my raids don't react when shot at, even if it's a loud gun. It's a little cheesy, and it seems like other people's AI I'd generally more reactive. Is there also a way to make them reactive to suppressing fire?

Does someone know what are the best settings which makes performace and also the feel of the game pretty similar to normal online game? My first game with everything as default/AsOnline was really bad on fps. From like normal 70 fps I went to 20-30 and I couldn't even to get to nowhere on interchange because I was fighting like nonstop. I tried some more games but it wasn't much better and now I'm kinda lazy to experiment with it more xD
You'll probably want to lower the bot cap in the config.json (spt/user/mods/donuts), the default is like 20-24 bots on most maps which i agree is way too many. I lowered mine to like 12-16 and have been using the quiet raids preset to learn ground zero and get my starting quests done and it feels pretty good. Honestly i might just keep quiet raids on at all times, if it doesnt make other maps too dead.
@@yellowsaurus4895 Thank you for your advice. I didn't touch nothing expect the normal settings. I will probably stick to 'starting pmcs only' preset so I don't need to worry too much I will run into pmc at extracts when I'm running out of time. I will try to play with setting more and I believe it will be alright.

Feels like my bots are broken. I'm watching your video and your bots behave very differently from mine. If any bot would ever spot me - he will insta shoot me. If i shoot and wont kill bot - he will insta turn and shoot me. If i just sat somewhere for more, than 1 minute - bot will insta shoot me. But yours... they fight each other ignoring you. They take a lot of time aiming at you before shooting. And when they do shoot - they miss a lot. Have you changed much in SAIN for them to behave like that?
Hi, I'm having performance problems with the game. My pc has these specifications: GPU: 7800XT CPU: i513600KF RAM: CORSAIR DDR5 6400MHZ I PLAY AT 2560X1440 and have used all possible graphics settings. Factory runs smoothly, as does Lab, but reserve and streets run at 50-60 fps with quite a few frame drops. Customs and interchange go at 70-90 fps depending on the area. I have tried everything, I have activated the XMP profiles at 6400 Mhz. The processor does not have OC and neither does the GPU. Comment that the graphics reaches more than 90% use while the processor does not exceed 30%. I appreciate any help, on RUclips there are videos of people with my graphics that in the streets, playing ONLINE and with scav, maintain 120 fps without any problem and with high textures.
Yes, you need to download and install the appropriate downgrader patcher. Though when i downgraded i needed to manually install, couldnt downgrade through the installer.

There's not just MPT there's Stay in Tarkov as well that STILL WORKS w/ 3.8.0 and most all mods.

Most of the 3.8.0 mods should work fine with 3.8.3, but any mods below 3.8.0 won’t work.

I've often wondered if sneaking around a map is useful at all or if I can just stomp around and make all the noise I want, because bots seem oblivious to noise I make in general. I use SAIN and SWAG+, but I get the impression that the bots, especially the PMCs, don't adopt the SAIN difficulty settings, they become predictable and a bit boring. Am I missing something in the SWAG+DONUTS settings?

Might be a ground zero issue but i killed 10 PMC before dying and i'm just lvl3 with medium SAIN difficulty (easy on goons) but there's more LVL10+PMC than i have ammo and i struggle to fix that, trying to edit the json "PMCBotLimitPresets" like i found on a reddit to see if it stop spamming me with rushing PMC as i'm trying to do first quests without prema fighting...
But thanks to your video i'll try the only starting PMC version and see if it's better, i don't mind scavs spawning all the time like player scavs simulation through the raid, but so much PMC was not manageable for me so early on.

Sadly the debuggingtool isn't updated for 3.8.0, I couldn't do the tests on my machine to figure out which presets is good for me

hey guys.. i need some help with the mod. Since i added this mod, there is always a 100% for the goons to spawn on each map they can spawn. Like Lighthouse and shoreline. Is there any way to decrease the chance of them spawning?

Remember Swag+donuts just affects bot spawns, it doesn't have any parameters that are gonna make the AI feel smarter. Idk what settings you're using for SAIN but for me personally i went with the default config and tweaked it slightly to make the AI react slightly slower and be a little less accurate, since my aim in eft is kinda potato lol.
One way you could use donuts to help test things out is turn up the pmc group spawn chance, since the way they behave with SAIN is noticeably different from vanilla. In my experience they are a solid challenge, even with my slightly nerfed default config. They should be talking to each other a lot, using suppressing fire/flanking tactics, throwing grenades, etc. If they don't seem to be doing those things there might be something wrong with your install. Make sure you have drakiaxyz's bigbrain and waypoints installed, otherwise neither SAIN nor donuts works properly
Can you expand on the "bot hard cap option"? I know it caps the bots to a preset. But where do I set the number of bots? Say I want to cap my raids at 10 to help with performance. Where do I select "10" for the cap? I don't see that anywhere.
It's in the Donuts config files, in its mod folder.
Look for the ScenarioConfig.json file.

@@no1baggiefan if I'm not mistaken you can toggle it on and off in raid, so you can see for yourself. Never had it bug out the timer on my end

I have an older PC (which I am about to replace) and I think that may be the cause of my issues, but I would like to get your input please? When I first boot into any raid with a bot debugging tool on like yours I see 0 bots, and then about 2 or 3 mins later, 1 will spawn in, then maybe another, no matter what settings I put the mod onto it doesn't seem to make any difference. Could it just be due to having an older system which cannot handle generating the bots at any 1 time?
How do you put your canted in place of your rear sights?
I *think* that's only possible on the AK-12 and -15, since they have the large rear iron sight socket.
Not sure if I've tried it with any other assault rifles or carbines, but I may have.
Anyway, it's just possible whenever I try it in the Trader Modding interface, so I try it when I feel a little outrageous.

Does anyone know how to make the boss spawn markers work more consistently? I have some raids that will spawn a dozen bosses (or whatever I selected) and most raids I get NO spawns at all.
Some boss spawns are just cursed and don't function very well.
I'd be interested to know if anyone has more luck in that regard.

Yes, the Waypoints mod's navmesh.
Then, no more PMCs will spawn for that raid.

Hi...can you make a detailed video about how to use SAIN..when using SAIN I get this message on top..selected preset version:2.2.1 but current preset version is 2.2.0 default bot config values maybe set incorrectly due to updates to SAIN

That message is just telling you that the current presets hadn't been updated to match the new SAIN changes yet.
You can just make a new preset and it will be created with the new system.

I have one complaint and maybe it's something that a setting can change, but the bots in my raids don't react when shot at, even if it's a loud gun. It's a little cheesy, and it seems like other people's AI I'd generally more reactive. Is there also a way to make them reactive to suppressing fire?

Does someone know what are the best settings which makes performace and also the feel of the game pretty similar to normal online game? My first game with everything as default/AsOnline was really bad on fps. From like normal 70 fps I went to 20-30 and I couldn't even to get to nowhere on interchange because I was fighting like nonstop. I tried some more games but it wasn't much better and now I'm kinda lazy to experiment with it more xD
You'll probably want to lower the bot cap in the config.json (spt/user/mods/donuts), the default is like 20-24 bots on most maps which i agree is way too many. I lowered mine to like 12-16 and have been using the quiet raids preset to learn ground zero and get my starting quests done and it feels pretty good. Honestly i might just keep quiet raids on at all times, if it doesnt make other maps too dead.
Also maxing out the spawn cooldown like shown in the video should help a bit

I will probably stick to 'starting pmcs only' preset so I don't need to worry too much I will run into pmc at extracts when I'm running out of time. I will try to play with setting more and I believe it will be alright.

Yeah, that's just how it is. Tarkov is super roughly optimized and modified bot spawns can exacerbate that.

Feels like my bots are broken. I'm watching your video and your bots behave very differently from mine.
If any bot would ever spot me - he will insta shoot me. If i shoot and wont kill bot - he will insta turn and shoot me. If i just sat somewhere for more, than 1 minute - bot will insta shoot me.
But yours... they fight each other ignoring you. They take a lot of time aiming at you before shooting. And when they do shoot - they miss a lot.
Have you changed much in SAIN for them to behave like that?
Yes, I always use some variation of the preset that I demonstrate in my last SAIN video.
Hi, I'm having performance problems with the game.
My pc has these specifications:
GPU: 7800XT
CPU: i513600KF
RAM: CORSAIR DDR5 6400MHZ
I PLAY AT 2560X1440 and have used all possible graphics settings. Factory runs smoothly, as does Lab, but reserve and streets run at 50-60 fps with quite a few frame drops.
Customs and interchange go at 70-90 fps depending on the area.
I have tried everything, I have activated the XMP profiles at 6400 Mhz. The processor does not have OC and neither does the GPU.
Comment that the graphics reaches more than 90% use while the processor does not exceed 30%.
I appreciate any help, on RUclips there are videos of people with my graphics that in the streets, playing ONLINE and with scav, maintain 120 fps without any problem and with high textures.
Is it impossible to revert back to 3.8.0 ?
Yes, you need to download and install the appropriate downgrader patcher. Though when i downgraded i needed to manually install, couldnt downgrade through the installer.
