- "Is there a view from the top?" I might have lied when I answered the tourist who asked that question in the affirmative. Technically, yes, there is a view. It just might be shorter on somedays than others. There are things to see and enjoy even so. In addition to the trail, I look at the campsite at the top to see if there is potential to spend a night in a hammock.
Mount Arab in the northwest corner of the Adirondack park offers a hike of about one mile with approximately 700 feet in elevation gain. Trail crews improved the trails recently with new stone steps, a wooden "ladder" which looks like steps to me, and some reroutes. If you haven't hiked it recently, the changes make a more hike than in years past.

The trail crew worked on it over the last summer and did a great job!! I was last up it in September and the wooden steps weren’t done yet.
Excellent video, thank you!
Thanks for watching and commenting. Happy New Year!
One of my favorite mounts to climb. I’ve probably climbed it 350 times over the years with my dogs. Lots of trail work done in the last year, however I still found it to be muddy when I last climbed it in October. But during the summer it is usually dry as a bone. I climbed to the top once in 14 minutes running it, but it usually takes most people 30 minutes or so.
That is awesome!
Glad to see you made the climb.
Surprising to me too!
