I love the opening, it reminds me a lot of the 2000's and I don't know if it's because of the melody or the singer, I also like how they have adapted the manga to the anime and there are only two chapters. I hope the full version of the song comes out soon.
The manga has far more than just 2 chapters, there are currently 20 volumes in japan and I think so far the English scanlation is up to volume 12 around 100 chapters

Anyway, thanks for telling me that the manga in English was advanced, I'm from Latin America so I was reading it in Spanish and the translation was in chapter 124.

This opening is simply amazing. Animation is nice -- as are the transitions. Couple that with Minda's beautiful singing voice and you have an opening that perfectly encompasses this show's style.
I don't think anyone here's realised it yet, but... 1:18 -- 1:22 is a FLCL reference. Specifically, FLCL Progressive, from the beginning of the first episode.

The manga is about Shy/Teru's growth from a girl struggling with issues of confidence and self-doubt to becoming the hero and protector of Japan. The OP's upbeat tone is meant to represent that.
A very addicting song. Definitely different from most anime intros. SHY is a for sure a top 10 in my list and I can’t wait to see how the story unfolds.
@@MonarchEAS Yeah the pace is a little slow and that’s ok because is not your typical full throttle action packed anime. It feels just a little bit more, “real” than a Dragonball or Naruto that is non-stop fighting and action. The author wants to incorporate more character development and have us connect to these characters in a more personal level and to be honest, some people can actually relate to some characters and that makes it enjoyable because it makes you root for the characters based on their real life problems or issues we “all” go through everyday.

To me personally, its one of my personal all-time favorite openings, if not top two, its so incredible to see how smooth the transitions are and animation being on point yet it gives something that you see in the early 2000s. If I am completely honest, I am personally more interested in Ming Ming Li/Mian Long in comparison to the main protagonist and I want to see way more of him please but the remaining characters look great, I really love this series!!! 🤩💕
