I have FWP Tumultuous Tides and Nebulous Blue, along with the Tumultuous Tides pen. I never would have thought a little plastic pen and some pretty shimmer ink could bring so much joy.
Get a toothbrush holder to hold the chargers in place when you fill from them, even if you use a syringe. The bottle designs are flawed. The inks are really pretty. Central Park Greens is my favorite.
Those chargers are miserable. Also, I have never seen a Ferris Wheel Press ink that did anything for me, and this demo confirmed that. Thanks for doing this, Mike. I know people do love this ink!
I've actually gotten rid of some chargers because they were just too putzy to use, sigh. But I love the smaller round-ish bottles (as opposed to the flat disc bottles that always seem unstable)---glistening glass has been un-put-downable! It is gorgeous!
Thanks for live swatches Mike!! I have a few FWP inks in my collection 3 to be exact-Sparkling Champagne,Edwards Garden, and Grape Ice Pop (I don't reach for any of them like I thoughtI would though). Also, I just purchased a sample of Fluttering Hearts (beautiful color-dry, light, hard to read but still an interesting color for me-I will try it in a wetter broader nib to 👀 if I enjoy more)
Sometimes it also helps to use the undersaturated inks on worse paper than you ordinarily would. Sometimes it seems to soak up the ink in a way that makes it more legible.
“Looks EXACTLY norhing like… no even close” -there’s a phrase worthy of Douglas Abrams. (I think of the moment the computer in _Hitchhiker’s Guide _ when the computer produced a substance “almost, but not quite entirely, unlike tea”.) I like “Stroke of Midnight” and find it works well in a pen. “Peter Mood” and “Pumpkin Patch” I also like. I’ve avoided the less-saturated inks. I’ll be interested to see how those inks look on different papers.
FWP seems to excel at packaging that looks beautiful but doesn't function well, along wirh inks that are often too unsaturated. I purchased a bottle of Storied Blue because I wanted the bookshop graphics on the box (bookstores are my happy place); it's legible, but still just a bit too unsaturated for me. My favorite FWP inks are Spruce County Post and one of the original three, Bluegrass Velvet (a teal), but neither is unique enough to be worth buying a bottle. There's tremendous hype around this brand and I just don't get it. (I have their first charger set. There are no labels on the bottom and it's impossible to tell what's in the bottles. I'm kind of amazed they didn't notice this right away.)
No labels on the bottom? That is not great. There are a couple that I think I really like, but there are SO many inks from FWP, and you just never know if it's going to work for you unless you see the ink itself.
I love that you asked about the knife! I forgot to drop a name tag on it. That's the Benchmade Bailout that they made for Shot Show this year. I don't go to Shot, but I do love orange and teal!
@@inkdependence Seriously considering decanting it into a Waterman bottle or something and then leaving the pretty round video game potion looking thing on the shelf. :)
Just as a viewer said the boxes are beautiful. I ordered ink, Green with Curiosity, that ink looks great with 3 color blending, and the the Poison envy pen. I hope the pen is great, but may never ink it it up. It looks cheap and may just keep it for show.
Okay I have been writing over the weekend with Green With Curiosity. At first I thought there was nothing to it except dark green, I was writing with the Carousel pen it was showing nothing. I changed pens and BOY HOWDY.....the colors of this ink started coming out. This is one great ink. The green, the blues, and shimmer was coming out. You and Audrey might think about getting that one. @@inkdependence

Hooray for joy!
The FWP inks would be prettier if the matching (or not) pens would be better if they offered in Broad or DB for the fun.

My sample vial holder works pretty well with these, it turns out.

I really like the Oyster Hour ink I've been using from FWP, but I do feel like there are more misses than hits for me.

The chargers are cool in concept, but I think they're really form over function.

@@inkdependence I noticed this with Storied Blue. It is most legible when I scribbled on the back of cheap envelopes.
Thanks Mike!! I will definitely give that a try.

I will be, too. I need to bang out some more ink reviews so that I can get these in pens
Hey I actually got first for once!! Love the vids especially the pens shows keep it up!
Glad you like them!

FWP makes some nice inks. Lapis Lullabies is an excellent color. Also what EDC knife is that?

I've been eyeing grape ice pop for a while but tbh I am so put off by their packaging. It's all so pretty and all going to annoy me to pieces.
Everyone needs some pretty things around the office!
