People back in the day may have regretted getting 980ti since the next year 1080 was launched which outperform it,consumes less power , newer architecture at the same price or less depending on the brand vendor .
I ran two MSI Gaming 980 Ti SLI from 2017 to 2021. That was my final SLI setup. The performance sits between a 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti when the cards are fully used. It was just held back by the 6gb Vram.
@@DanielCardei GTA always works great. Nvidia gameworks games like Watch Dogs2 , Ghost Recon wildlands. Far Cry. Witcher 3. Battlefield. Anything before 2018/19. After that i was mostly running single gpu. Or had to do fixes in nvidia inspector.
this is what I need, graphics card testing videos have been around for a long time on modern games to see how much performance it can achieve, it's worth looking forward to.❤❤😬
they dont make cards like this anymore! Only bad thing is, that this custom design somehow is without vram cooling? I also really miss those crazy Asus Mars cards. And the EVGA King Pin cards, MSI Lightning etc. 980ti and 1080ti are still holding up today, especially with those special custom designs.
i think they should have hooked on to the back plate with some vram cooling. or i can try finding some larger pads that can touch the main heatsink. With one condition. if the hot spot its to high. if the board itself its cool, there is no reason for that.
I drove 2 hours in fall 2015 to buy a used evga hybrid 980 ti for a pretty good price for few weeks old. Uni student sold it to me. Got home at like 2am work the next morning. Amazing card high oc and low 50C temps. Also mined a good bag of ethereum and zcash on it)
Thanks for showing this, much appreciated. I've picked up a Gigabyte G1 980 ti boxed with original paperwork etc for £31 sold with fan issues. I'm home at the weekend & I intend to fix no matter what, soldering iron, cable ties whatever it takes I'm fixing it. I'm 61 & recently diagnosed with autism & my obsession with collecting older pc parts brought a smile to the health professionals face, apparently it's not the first time he's been told this. I'm not obsessed with this it's just how my brain works & that's cheered me right up. Thanks again
One of the best models of the 980 Ti, along with the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming model, which I have owned two of (also a great cooler). These high-end models runs near 1450 Mhz on GPU @stock settings. At that speed, the 980 Ti gets ahead of the 1070 in raw performance.
980ti still going strong holy moly, Ashes of singularity tho if other game use 97-99% it manages stay at 100% all the time xD no mercy 470 wat lol but 60fps to be fair there not alot going on on screen I wonder or it drops bellow 60
@@DanielCardei Oh that's not bad, its a better than fury X which is weird I though 980ti will leave fury in the dust but difference not that big, also grabbed Deus Ex: Mankind Divided for cheap on sale it has nice benchmark build in so gonna test that out. BTW I saw 295x2 for decent price for sale localy I wonder should I pick it up, hows ur holding up? I am always afraid buying gpu's with aio coolers in them bec never know how long pomp will hold. Talking about 295x2 do you plan to revisit it someday?
1. Mind the PSU. 500W easy and you need at least 1kw PSU. 2. the aio i heard people swapping them for generic ones but if it works it works. Mines one are still decent and working( i hope it last). 3. last test i`ve done was with 1650v4 and now it will be ok to do in the future with another CPU. This 2699v4 won`t do ok.
Idk. I've plug it back in then it was showing x16 but it said sometimes it goes in power saving mode. I did a small run on the same games and the performance was the same.
@@DanielCardei That is a shame. Aah such a lovely card! Not sure why they did not do it right. These cards oc pretty well except for the vram because of it. Msi lightning is even more depressing, lovely cards but not with hand picked cores, so good chance a founders edition does better.
You may take the piss but if I had the card I would've plugged the molex in thinking it provided extra overclocking power stead of being an extreme overclocking LN2 only feature.
its something that i never seen before and my basic instinct was to plug in everything. considering the info now its obvious i won`t plug it in next but i didn`t use it extensively to do any permanent damage(i hope). After i test it again because of the pcie x8 and x16 but all was good.
The 8x lanes you noticed in GPU-Z will be because the card is in a low power state on the desktop. Windows sheds lanes when the GPU is idle to save power. If you were to click the "?" icon next to the 8x it would explain this.
so i`ve tested it again to be 100% same fps same wattage drain and when its in the game its x16. if where to guess its power save mode. GPU-Z even said that.

Hey! Mind if I asked where you found one of these? I've really wanted an Asus 20th anniversary 980 Ti for a long time but I know theyre super rare.

Couldn't agree more!
Awesome video, the 980 ti is in the rx 5500 xt or 580-ish club compared to team red
Yeah no, the rx580 is more like a normal gtx980 4gb...
nice card still good. I have an asus strix 980ti. I sometimes use.
Very nice card!
GTAV was literally made for this card i could only imagine what fps you would be getting with two of these in SLI
SLI FTW
The best gpu from the maxwell generation.
true
Actually the best was the titan x 12gb...
Maybe it was the best performance/$
Thank you for testing PUBG, it’s my favourite game. Was it on low settings?
All max. Ultra with 100% render.
Hey Daniel, great card!!
Try to find a ram cooler/ heatsinks for it!!
the size of the gap its to small. idk what can fit there.
Asus is shit like usual

I loved this card, but the Power Draw was just too much. I ended up moving to GTX1070 which was actually the same price.

Did asus finely put vram cooling back on the cards with gtx 900 series? Previous gen models all seem to miss it.
this one is missing. on 10 series it has. i think because the 1080 i have it should have had but the seller lost the plate.

dont use the molex connector its for LN2 usage to heat up the ram. from what tech power up says that card is the fastest of the 980Ti line.
never again
4 pin molex connector for the memory heater (for use with liquid nitrogen) wtf

@DanielCardei yeah it sux cause your bench results would've probably been a smidgen higher without it plugged in.
Pls gtx 980ti extreme edition and use turbo mod by apply attaching third power cable
It was in the back the molex connected. Thats why I showed it at the end.
why off ray tracing ??
You are capping the card again with pci-e x8.
PCI-E gen 4 at x8 is like gen 3 x16.
So by running x8 you are not fully getting the gains from the gpu.
negligible
how , thats 99% core load there...
