Rented it after watching your video and it was well made. Cinematography was amazing, but for a frag head or perfumer it fell short of the BBC documentary I’ve watched 25, 000 times. Worth checking out though.
Prob already found it.. but for anyone else reading. Type in perfume documentary in you tube. It will pop up. Dark glass bottles on thumbnails. Three part series. First is called “ something old something new”
Intrigued about watching this movie. It seems to imply however that their perfumes are based on natural materials when the more I read about perfume making it seems like commercial perfumes are 70-80% synthetic. Is this movie telling the truth?
Well the move focusses on the naturals because there's a much better story behind them but yes, I'm sure they use mostly synthetics by weight. I don't have any issue with that myself as to me synthetic ingredients are very important from a creative perspective and I often find that naturals work best in a formula when embedded in a symphony of synthetics as an accompaniment.
Francis Kurkdijan has said in the past that a perfume that is made 100% naturally will not last long at all. I am all for naturals, but as long as synthetics are high-quality and well-made, I'll live with it.
You are the GOAT sam
