  • I AM NOT A KIRIGAMI EXPERT; it's just another rabbit hole I fell down recently.
In this video, I am sharing pieces I've made and two different folding methods I've learned so far.
The book that got me started is The Art of Decorative Paper Stencils by Kanoako Yaguchi. It's out of print, but there are used copies available on Amazon and at Abe Books. PLEASE NOTE: the instructions in the book only cover four-fold motifs, not six-fold. There are no true snowflakes (with six points) in the book.

I found this website and can't wait to try some of his designs! Enjoy!

Thank you so much for this video!!! The ideas you generate are like pure gold. I need to go get myself some origami paper now. I hope I will entice my son to put his iPad aside and join me in the paper cut extravaganza. One of these days you have to do some crochet tutorials. Maybe next year I’ll make a crochet Christmas tree. The more snowflakes and hearts the better. Now imagine having a little boutique shop filled with all sorts of beautiful crafts. You can certainly fill it up just with the things you make in a month. I love how you become obsessed with one thing and then make tons and tons of that one thing. This morning I came across this shop on IG that sells all sorts of vintage clothes. I immediately thought of you and your quilted Pom Pons. Guess what I saw in their shop that made me think of you? A jacket! The whole jacket was made out of a vintage quilt made out of those type of Pom pons. So if you have left overs those can certainly be sewn all over an old jeans jacket.

They are so cute and I see how it could be addictive too. Reminds me of grade school, only with better supplies!

I found that when I cut a half or even a quarter at a time even though there is more cutting to do it is a lot easier. I open and cut and I can use thicker paper or any paper. I have also used a paper hole punch to start some spots or as decorative circles. You can also staple pieces that will be cut out (negative space) to stabilize and stop shifting.

I'm going to try this tomorrow. I think on the smallest cuts I will try using toe nail clippers!!! We shall see!! Lol
