    Of all the loyalty programs it seems like Hyatt has tried to be the most generous with their benefits. It’s hard to imagine Marriott having a better partnership with MGM, or even having a decent status match, but who knows! We’ll see!

    I do not believe MGM would match any level with Nior as its invite only.
    I believe Platinum with Bonvoy would be needed to get MGM gold.
    I used to be Platinum (earned through gambling), but after they changed their system, it has been very difficult to get to even gold.

    Maybe this will give Amex an incentive to finally upgrade the Centurion's benefits. Why is a $5000 AF invite-only elite card still only getting Bonvoy Gold like a Platinum card? Give the Centurion Bonvoy Titanium and MGM Platinum. That way the Centurion will have something no other card has. It's not like there are so many Black Card holders that it would significantly dilute the value of either program by giving out those statuses.

    I would love it if they did some status matching, but I'm not sure they'll go down that route with this partnership. Bonvoy is so much bigger than World of Hyatt, they could end up giving Gold to a lot more people than they would like. With all the changes this year, it feels like MGM want to make their rewards status exclusive, and for big spenders/gamblers. I suspect this will be more of an expansion of the Marriott/Cosmopolitan approach to other resorts i.e. Loungers and upgrades, bonus points and maybe some food & beverage credit too, but no dropping of the resort fees via Marriott status.

    I think the $100 annual food credit is the determination of the MGM match to Marriott. If the matched status doesn’t include the $100 annual food credit, which is similar to Hyatt partnership, then I think Bonvoy Gold is enough to get MGM gold. But if MGM throws the $100 food credit to all gold members, including those matched from Marriott, then I think Bonvoy Platinum to match MGM gold. MGM gold without the $100 really doesn’t provide that much benefit, especially considering how easy to get Caesar diamond. So requiring Bonvoy Platinum to match MGM gold is not attractive enough.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  Год назад +1

      They wont include the food credit since it requires 75k tier credits. Thats how they prevent people with matched status from getting it, you can check it out here www.mgmresorts.com/en/mgm-rewards/tiers.html

    • @jinWhuang
      @jinWhuang Год назад

      @@TheCreditShifu I understand the requirement when they partner with Hyatt, and also matched Caesar Diamond to gold in the old days. But now they no longer match others to gold, so it already exclude other matches. The only gold left they need to worry about is the MGM partnership. That’s why I said, if they don’t provide the $100, then they can take in a bunch of Bonvoy Gold as their gold members, the only big difference is Free parking, that itself doesn’t cost MGM any money, and they free parking will attract people to go to their place to gamble, where they really make their money from. But if they decided to offer Marriott members gold with the same $100 as their own gold member, then they want to limits the amount of people, so I think they will require Bonvoy Platinum to match the MGM gold. Part of the reason they don’t offer the $100, it’s because it used to be too easy to get MGM gold with status match.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  Год назад

      @@jinWhuang well the 75k tier credit requirement is still on their website, so if Marriott Gold or Platinum was able to match to MGM today, you wouldn't get the $100 dinner. Interestingly Caesars does allow you to get the $100 dinner even if you have matched.

    • @jinWhuang
      @jinWhuang Год назад

      @@TheCreditShifu per the MGM TC today, yes, all matched Gold doesn’t come with the $100 credit. And it that doesn’t change, I still stand that only Bonvoy gold is needed to match MGM gold.

    I am a Platinum member of MGM from my gambling. Caesar Rewards will not match my status because they only match if you never have a card. So I don’t see where you keep saying you can get Caesar’s Diamond status every year with matching. It’s FALSE!!! Also, MGM will never status match any Hotel Status for Noir.
