- Recently in Fresno, California an unidentified man wearing a Dodgers baseball cap was captured on video rescuing a stranger from a house fire. His name turned out to be Tom Artiaga. Jimmy invited him on the show to reward his good deeds with the help of legendary Dodgers Manager Tommy Lasorda.

The guy's a true hero, did something stunningly brave and went about his day before the TV cameras showed up. Uncommon valor right there.
The media needs to report more positive things like this more often! It's make me feel like there's still hope in humanity! This was really touching, I'm glad he got rewarded for his good deeds.

Years ago, In LA county, there was a high speed chase, B4 it became 'popular', On the 101 that runs along Ventura Blvd. Bad guy was speeding on the shoulder, TRAFFIC at a near halt. Half Dozen Cops behind him. A work truck in the Far R, waiting to exit, pulled over, stopped bad guy in his tracks. He was gone by the time the cops got the bad guy in cuffs, Never came forward. One cop said he thought he saw Plumbing gear in the back of Good guy's truck. Whenever I find a situation where I can help someone, I think about that guy.

Who cares if he had a mic on. Should youtube the whole video. He just walks in like a boss with no hesitation and after the saved that guy he just left the scene. He didn't want any attention. True man and hero show tears.
What are you talking about? Who had the mic on?
It's not about caring if he has a mic on, it's that Jimmy made a point of saying he didn't know he'd be on camera. The guy deserves all the recognition he can get but it was a set up. When you take the realism out of moments like that, you cheapen them. He could have said he was a reluctant hero but he'd agreed to be on the show but he went with a lie instead.
I think in those cases the guests are told they won’t be on camera, and then on the commercial break before he gets called up, someone from the crew walks over to him and clips it onto his shirt.
Not sure if that’s a fact, and I’ve never actually seen it done for the Kimmel show, but I know it’s happened on other talk shows.
Either way, huge props to that guy.

We shouldn't do good things expecting a reward, but I think it's awesome that Tommy Lasorda was rewarded so publicly for his act of bravery. Would like to see more real heroes on the TV as opposed to the 'celebs' we seem to hold in such high esteem.
