This is my favorite guitar playing from Andy this far. It was great watching him get inspired in the middle of messing around with that 5th/Delay thing. Made me wanna pick up and play immediately. What a guy.
@@AndyDemos we all always do. Your demos are always must-watch RUclips. My better half isn't as much of a fan of the gear piling up in our house after I watch your show though.... haha
Oh Andy, I've been watching your videos for the past 10 years and it has cost me dearly, again and again and I guess also this time 😆 Keep it up anyway - you're the best 👍
A lot of potential in that box. A very familiar control panel for synth players. The filter, mod and sequencer make it so very tempting. Nice to hear a snippet of The Camera Eye in there Andy.
Got one recently and used You Tube for guidence. This guy was the most helpfull for me. I now have a much better idea of how to use it to it's full potential. Many thanks for a great demo. (From an aging Bass Player).
Strymon has a great marketing group. The videos are superb. I have probably 4K in Strymon pedels. I love everyone of them. I am a Pedal junkie and Strymon is the pharmaceutical quality drug. I love toying with all of them Timeline is my favorite but this might be a close second. Great video Andy.
Not really. Blackhole is significantly cheaper and the H9 can already do most of the more musical things this pedal can do. Only real benefit of this pedal are the knobs.
Este cara toca com uma inspiração e profundidade que o pedal parece ser apenas um coadjuvante, e olha que este pedal é fantástico. This guy plays with an inspiration and depth that the pedal seems to be just an adjunct, and he looks that this pedal is fantastic.
I get all the use I’ll ever need out of this pedal by listening to Andy play through it. But if I win the lottery I’m buying every pedal Strymon makes.
Holy Smoker! It's a synth/reverb! I can see where this thing could make you late for work, a date or dinner. Gonna have to sell a few pedals to get this beast.
I guess I'm old school. I feel like I would get more benefit out of playing rather than spending12 hours learning all the features on this pedal. I just don't go for spaceship , That being said, I'll have one in a month.
Yeah exactly. I feel like the only thing that has to do with music and deserves to sit your ass down and learn every single feature of it is an analog synth
As someone who spends a lot of time making spaceship sounds, there are enough reverbs on the market and I don't find much special about this one. It's not bad, but it's just a new box of tricks that don't really impress me.
This is a great demo, but I think this pedal really shines when it’s used with synths. It works extremely well with my minilogue, adds much more character to the tone. Putting it after my matriarch is pure bliss.
I dig ambient and shimmer even though I am mostly a more traditional rocker, but I am also a worshiper. I had to pull the trigger on this, my first Strymon. It'll be here today. Quite simply some of the most beautiful and ethereal guitar sounds ever coming out of this thing. Just my opinion of course.
Honestly, the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath module is a better option for modular enthusiasts. Strymon is using the same 'experimental reverberator" line that Earthquaker did in marketing materials and after listening to these demos I would consider them similar enough. 4 inputs with attenuverters is a much better option than an on-board sequencer and LFO. And it's cheaper. But that's just my opinion.
@@Attacus3 Sure, though a little different from the space-y reverb wash Nightsky and Afterneath are aiming for. I'm a fan of Afterneath's explosion of delay lines: it can do reverbs or sound granular delay-like or somewhere between. It'll even self-oscillate into a usable oscillator which can be used with a V/O input. Damn it's fun. But they all have character. Afterneath and Magneto are definitely worth getting for synths. And Afterneath doesn't have stereo (it has "pseudo-stereo" but stereo is possible with the right tools in your rack.
While I agree that this pedal, with its implantation of envelope generators, low frequency oscillators and pitch sequencing, does embody some common attributes of modular synthesis, it’s apparent lack of voltage control means that it’s not all that compatible with a eurorack system other than as an end-of-chain effect. Many modular users will already own dedicated envelope generators, LFOs and sequencers, meaning a module such as the Earthquaker Afterneath, or indeed Make Noise Echophon/Mimeophon/Erbe Verb for example, would arguably be more competitive in terms of form factor and how easily they can be integrated into an existing modular system. Stereo is also a relatively recent phenomenon in the eurorack format, so not necessarily a compelling reason to invest in this unit.
I love how talented guitarists really feel the new sounds...you can see it.....and yet synthesists can stray well into sonic territory and go very atonal........I have never really seen a guitarist play anything over the infinite sustain that relates to that tone ........chords of orion site heads there sometimes
I was hoping that this would be a replacement for the EHX Super Ego+ on my board. I just don't know if this can be a bandmate like the Super Ego has been.
better than the blackhole twin peaks music beautiful effects dreamlike for song writing or playing with out a band or backing track worth it I almost bought the blackhole this trumps the blackhole sounds like a few effects more than reverb
Let’s be real. I’m gonna buy this after a long two months of internal debate then use it for traditional reverb sounds.
Sounds like me with my Echosystem lol
And that's why the jrad boing exists and it's amazing
I’ve never felt so attacked by a comment.

I'm so glad you played the intro for The Camera Eye... I couldn't stop thinking of this song when you played with the filters!

Reminds me of a plug-in more than a pedal, the future of pedals is gonna be interesting
Andy with a jazzmaster makes me happy.
Just heard about this pedal so I came here for the best demonstration. Never disappointed.
This was actually a really poor demonstration of this pedal. It can do way more cool things than this.
Really cool, thanks for walking through the pedal settings!
Eventide: "We broke out the Black Hole into it's own pedal!" Strymon: "Bless your heart..."
Harshhhhh
So true
Didn't have to do eventide like that 😂

Night sky = $450, Blackhole =$350

Welp, I was saving these last few paychecks for canned food and bottled water but I think I'm just gonna get myself another strymon pedal.
Why though? There are so many other reverbs and the tricks this one does are just meh.
If you can dodge the raiders I hear that one of the local supermarkets still has instamash.
I like the outer space Tele sounds. One of the demos from Strymon also had a great space western feel. Andy you are the best!
Church Rockers smashing the pre-order button like WHITE HEAT
its basically a big sky just with more ways of presets and adjustments
In the naaaame of JEEEEEZZUZZZZZ
Lol I thought of using it in my next church gig after I bought the pedal
7:11 dang that's cool
I just bought 4 damn pedals in the past month.
Great demo Andy. I dig a lot of these sounds but I think this one is for someone other than me to explore.
It's cool , but I think you would need an extra set of hands for using it in a live set-up , synth player's are going to love it .

Wow, this is the first time I've ever wanted a Strymon! It's a scary feeling...
Good on them for making something a little less traditional!
You are missing out on some of the best bread and butter pedals
Some of the sounds on my time line, bigsky, and mobius are anything but traditional,
Yeha no kidding I want to make the guitar sound like weird shit

HE'S PLAYING THE CAMERA EYE. If you use the random modulation setting with the mix at max you can replicate the synths at the start Andy. :)
I have found that if you use the sequencer at super slow rates, it's pretty awesome!
Really cool demo, man it sounds like I really need one!
This thing is the most Tera Melos-bait Strymon's ever made.
Before the countdown, nice one

Nice nod to Rush’s “Camera Eye”!!
Wonder if that was intentional or just a happy accident.
Great tune and perhaps the most obscure cut from Moving Pictures.
I came here looking for this comment!
EPIC! Can't wait to get these in next week!!!
Don't tell my Volante' this thing exists. That's a really cool pedal. Reverb Synth- genius. Wow. Great playing.
What a great clean tone
The best TRs are when Andy becomes fascinated by the wondrous sounds emanating from his rig. 7:40 on is a perfect example of the AndyBliss.

best western film to come out in years
This is exactly pedal that I don't need but I want
Among all the other reverb, and man, there are a lot, this is the one you want?
I concur... Right there with you. It's that sequencer/voltage stores with glissando and resonant filters that pushed it over the cliff, so to say.
So, Strymon made a reverb version of the Volante. Great. Wonderful.
That makes no sense.
Great ppedal ,great demo
With the sequencer you could follow up your regular gig with a DJ session.
Would it kill them to throw in a reverse and drippy spring reverb just so I wouldn't need another pedal if I bought this?
Hello @reverb what combinaison of pedals could recreate the sound at 7:24 ?
Hope this drops the big sky a couple hundred bucks I see these things in tea leaves
Jonathan Frieze Maybe 50 bucks
Taking guitar into the future. My favorite feature is the reverb. ;).
10:14 when the F1 cars go by the camera
How about propane?
I tell you hwhat!
Thanks for the great demo Andy! :) Can one count on a demo of the new pitch fork plus aswell?😍
Goddamn what a perfect guitar to demo this. A Jazzmaster is a reverbs best friend
Strymon coming out with a new pedal and I still haven’t explored all the features on my Volante!
I’m not gonna lie that it sounds amazing. This is a sound experimenters dream. If you added the Enzo to the mix you would get some crazy sounds.
Yup... I'm running a C4, Enzo, and Infinite Jets into it stacked with a BigSky... Absolutely amazing sounds... ☺️
I bought the Earthquaker Devices Afterneath after watching Andy's demo. Thus I'm a bit nervous watching this one. ;-)
will this work with a Eventide Mod factor? Some effects wont connect with others. Like my BOSS gp10 wont hook up with anything.
it has shimmer and glimmer. sold.

This could be the biggest thing to storm the worship-guitar community since the telecaster/gretch + skinny jeans!
Wait! was that the lick? @ 5:19
is it possible lower the verb to a point that it could act like a harmonizer pedal?
Not really. The pitch effects have a bit of lag. Plus there's always little bit of Verb on the lowest setting.
can you plug in an external sequencer into it for instance, the Korg SQ1?
The Expression Pedal input should accept +5V from a voltage sequencer. Ask Strymon support.
What is the model of the first guitar? One of the new crossover Jags?
anyone knows how to reset to the main factory ? thank you
Jesus' favorite pedal company.
That's really trippy

As a kid, Andy probably never considered becoming this kind of guitar hero.

Nightsky and space themed marketing and this is the best colour you could come up with?

The Black Hole pedal totally sucks, IMO... Better to get it in the Space pedal with all their other reverb algorythms...
Can sync the sequencer to anything else?
Might be enough for me to ditch my Eventide Space! But I do love that pedal still.
This reminds me of something pigtronix would do. Even the look.
It really never ends, huh.
It ends when you say it ends.
What model Jazzmaster is that? The finish is outrageous!
Jazzmaster Ultra
Could you start putting the amp your playing in the description of your videos please
EHX epitome with presets! good marketing tough..I was looking forward to this thing and was very exited....was.
