As a Mother/Grandmother and great grandmother, I just about fell off my chair laughing!! We have had the same type of experiences in our home with the "after effects" of eating Beets and Asparagus .... I love your laughter and your stories... on top of Excellent recipes! Yes, beets really move everything out in your intestines! They leech a lot of calcium out of us but are incredibly healthy to eat occasionally. My husband loves them cold, vinaigrette salad. I will try this raw, since we get them cooked slightly already, at the greenmarket (very messy!). I'm glad you visited France -- and those Moulinex items are fantastic. They last and last, too. I've had the same coffee maker for 20 years -- no problem! People who think "they don't like beets" always seem to love a good beet salad, I've noticed. I like when you speak Italian. I went to school there and can still understand it and speak a little. What a cool channel! Grazie lei, arrivederla.

My favourite way to eat beets is to cut them into chunks, and steam them.
Maybe throw some whole cloves of garlic in the steamer too. That's all they need.
And yeah, it will make your poop look like the Boston Massacre.
