Can we PLEASE get a little love for Steve Kerr?! This team looked like the Warriors. The ball moving and guys cutting and moving without the ball. They looked nothing like this in games 5 and 6 last series with Brown.
Memphis is a tough team that had a size and athleticism advantage. They also played borderline dirty, very, very physical. Dallas is not a big team and they play clean. Warriors picked them apart. I’m 100% dub nation back to the days Antoine Jamison but I’m sure Dallas will bring it moving forward, but I’m going with Dubs in 6.

This is what I envisioned before klay went down. Wiggins can go off on any given night alongside the splash bros and now poole. He is big and skilled enough to bully opponents 2nd/3rd best defenders all day
It’s ok that he didn’t become the next t Mac. his defense on luka was pretty good, so I gotta give credit where it’s due. Dude can be remembered as a much better tayshaun prince if gs wins a chip. and there’s nothing wrong with that, besides the fact that he was a number 1 pick. Which is fine, considering that there have been plenty of worse #1 picks throughout history. Didn’t reach his potential, but still has a chance to be a top defender on a championship team. It could be worse.
The same can be said about KD. Just because he is good with Golden State means nothing now.

These dudes play beautiful basketball in their passing and team defense. People complain about their turnovers but the chances of that happening tend to go up when a team moves the ball around more. Can't wait to see what they'll be like when they get Payton 2 and Iggy back. Wiggins deserved the game ball in Gm1.

Handily beat them again IMO.The Warriors need 7 more victories to earn their next world championship. I think it is probable that they achieve a championship for so many reasons. Stephen Curry in his entire career has never been this strong, and it has helped him overcome more than you can see with one look. As you watch him play since their series with Denver. Stephen has not missed a beat. The physical pounding he takes on all the screen and rolls, and cutting he does each and every game take a toll. But this year he has never been more able to physically handle the grind. He will be sore after the playoffs, but he is enduring and he looks very healthy. I think it is his strength and experience not to mention his natural ability to shoot better than almost any other shooter I have seen play in the NBA in the last 3 decades.
I think Boston Versatility both defensive and offensive will be hard for the Warriors to handle. Their's only advantage right now is championship experience.
@@alexislopez4054 I will have to agree with you more than I care to admit. Boston is younger, great on defense, and quick. But they too lack size. I do believe Kuminga could be that piece that Steve uses, and teaches up if they make it to The Finals. But they must get there first. Stephen impresses me this year based on all his strength building since last year. It has helped him beat his age so to speak. 7 more wins and the Larry O’Brien is there’s. Not going to be easy.

Wiggins and looney are the X factors in this series I been calling it looney rebounding and Wiggins defense against luka and his shooting are vital.. next obviously klay and steph have to play like their old selves but this team is great.
I like both teams, GSW had a few days to rest. I want the Mavs to keep fighting it is Game 1 after all. So will be interesting over next games and see how they both improve.

Everyone is talking about 'who is gonna stop Luka?' but I have a question, 'who is sLuka going to stop?'. To me he looked slow, out of place and many times unable to keep up with the player right in front of him. We've heard all the talk about Steph being a bad defender, but I haven't heard a single 'analyst' mention Luka's defense.
There’s multiple videos showing how the suns targeted luka in their offence because he isn’t a great defender.
Too much hype about Luka.
One man cannot beat such a deep team like the Warriors.

@@connorlaird1644 in the last couple games Kidd heavily adjusted the defense so Luka can hedge screens rather than playing on ball defense. I don’t see that working as well against the warriors bc they’re better offensively than the suns but the mavs will definitely adjust. Still don’t seem them winning the series though

The Warriors are a different animal, especially at home. But, this is just one game. The Mavericks are gonna make the proper adjustments, play better defense and cut down on the live ball turnovers, even though they didn’t turn it over a whole lot tonight

Scary hours for the Mavericks when Poole, Curry and Klay all shoot poorly from deep, Curry shoots pooly on FT and FG, but they _still_ have a blowout win. ⚰️
The Mavericks role-players need to start doing their best Superstar impressions, because there's no way all three of them shoot _that_ badly from range all series long.
They shot poorly in the first half not the entire game mate. Once they got off in the third they got away so hard they could rest everyone in the 4th.

Mavs shot 30 percent total. You can't win an NBA game shooting 30 percent unless the other team is as well
Mavs get wrecked in game 1 and 2 vs the suns. Mavs lost game 1 vs the jazz. Tbh I'm way less worried after this loss than I was against those. So many miscommunication by the warriors that left us wide open at the 3 point line they just weren't falling. Not worried mavs in 6 but warriors probably taking game 2

That’s facts, there were so many moments that the mavs just looked way to slow to react on defense and on offense they played like garbage, they made some bad passes that were easily read by golden state they’re just not fast

the reality is this experience, knowledge, hardwork and teamwork is what set apart the warriors than the other teams
The key to GSW winning this series is their movement. Suns basically run a screen and ISO style offense with CP3 dribbling the clock out. Dallas took a few games to figure that out.. Even game 1 of the Phoenix series Luka went for 40+.....GSW has 2-3 guys running screens and dribble pass actions on every possession. Dallas will have to chase movement on defense and then have legs to make jump shots. I'm not sue why the media never gives GSW credit. This team has been to 5 finals and are on the verge of another one. This is a Dynasty team. People worship Jordan, Phil Jackson and Tex Winter but won't give Steve Kerr credit as being from that same cloth..

I found it funny that Dallas went small against the warriors. Like actually smaller than the current warriors line up at the time. Not sure that'll work against them.

Klay is the one they don’t have to worry abt beating you off the dribble but if he’s open in a catch and shoot situation then the Mavs are gonna get torched. The one thing the Warriors did this game was make Luka get uncomfortable and tired, in the Suns series they were playing his game and it costed them. The Warriors are gonna trap him, Dray and Wiggins gonna bother him and once he gets tired it’s a wrap. He also had 7 turnovers
Chemistry and Playoff Experience are all on GSW's side. If the Dubs can clean up the"TURNOVERS" they'll get the CHIP!
@@fmo85 Dallas is already slow with Luka's old man tempo, if they go big, they are going to be even slower. GSW is notorious for being one of the fastest team in NBA. It is just that they turn the ball over too many times. So I can understand why Kidd tried this small lineup. It is Mavs' best chance, it is just that their shots aren't going in.
Dallas is the slowest during 2021-22 regular season pace-wise, and 4th from bottom in the playoffs. They rarely run & gun their possessions. Suns is 7th slowest team in the NBA, because CP3 is old and the rest of the guys rarely gun their possessions (the image of Mikal Bridges getting blocked by Giannis probably traumatised them). Set play-wise, Suns tend to love Spain pick & roll that broke down during the playoffs because Ayton doesn't really get the ball, Booker or CP3 iso plays (which was perfect during earlier series), and corner 3 kick-outs. Mavs simply eliminated the corner offense, Monty ditched Ayton as the roll man, CP3 shuts himself down, and Booker can't carry a broken team.

Well Dallas have lost all their first game this playoff so it's not a huge surprise, when they lost the 2 first games versus Phoenix everybody said it was different from Utah as well and they're not good enough, so we'll see if they can adapt once again to the opponent.
I’m more so surprised everybody has so much faith in Dallas after this one playoff run. Time and time again warriors will prove trying to beat them at their style won’t win.

I know it’s just game 1, but I still think the warriors will reach the finals. The Grizzlies in my opinion was gonna be their most grueling test and I feel like, since they are out of that gauntlet, they can better handle a small ball team like Dallas.

Luka was not himself that game. Not sure if he was tired, sick, or hurt, but his energy was low. Hopefully Friday the Warriors show it was their defense and not Luka's lack of offense.

I'm a warriors fan but a bigger doncic fan. This game was hard to watch. I feared the warriors would take em apart.
The refs helped a lot though, allowed GS to play extremly physical and clearly didnt call several fouls on the drive to the basket leading to turnovers and easy points for GS which broke the game open for GS in the 3rd. Like its not already tough enough to play vs a stacked GS roster with 4 All-Stars.
I’ve been saying it all season. This GS team is the deepest squad I’ve ever seen. Kuminga hardly plays and he’d be the ROY on another squad. Those injury plagued seasons let them restock young talent. Payton is a key contributor and they just shrugged off his loss like it’s nothing. Dallas has no chance. None.
I think that game 3 will be the key here. Can Mavs win that one just like they did it against the Suns? If Warriors prevails too after that game, then it's bye-bye Mavs for sure

This is just game 1 but some media personnels are looking real suspect after comparing Luka to so and so and trying to sell his greatness. Luka had a slow 20 points tonight. Wiggins did a great job on him while taking and making shots. Klay and them made a splash in the Poole but not a dive. It was good enough effort though but they will need to go off especially on the road.

Think about this. Warriors were not in the playoffs in the last two years after being in there the previous 5 straight with 3 championships. No one even mentioned them at the beginning of the year and Klay got back and their all good again playing together for the first time in 2 years (Draymond, Klay, and Steph) and they made it again with a chance to win it all. I'm glad that the Warriors could take Game 1 without shooting well at the 3-point line. They won this game by outstanding performance on the defensive end. I hope Klay and Steph could find their range next game so that we get a comfortable lead heading to Dallas
