Dude got the death penalty but is out on bail? That's definitely one court date I'd skip out on.
😂😂
Because he’s a political prisoner
😂😂😂😂😂
In my personal opinion there are some crimes like rapes, serial murders, etc in which the accused deserve capital punishment.
I agree, but I believe that in order to mitigate false convictions, the evidence should be of the highest quality so there can be no chance of a false conviction. (Combination of video evidence, DNA evidence, confession, surviving victim, etc.)
@@OblateSpheroid Yes I agree.
NOT THE ACCUSED BUT THE CONVICTED, BIG BIG DIFFERENCE DUDE.
And corruption of government officials
The death penalty is a relic of dark times. Those who still advocate it today have not understood much about the Age of Enlightenment, humanism, or ethical considerations and are instead guided only by their perceived urge for revenge.
Some crimes actually deserve death penalty. I for sure doesn't want my tax money used for keeping mass murderer alive in prison.
Exactly. Some individuals are just a complete waste in every single way. The Earth is definitely better without them. Their actions tell all.
"People who are given the death penalty are traumatized for the rest of their life". Kind of misses the point.
If we’re being philosophical, we all kinda have a death penalty already. Maybe decades from now, but it will come.
Especially if their CRIMES have destroyed lives, monumental amounts of property, or caused so much collateral damage by their actions, it's like...
"Hey, YOU threw YOUR life away. Don't seek sympathy now--it's far, far too late. You're a heinous, ruthless destroyer of people, property, or both, and a gigantic waste of humanity's dwindling resources. NOW PISS OFF."
Shame on west that has been supporting irans mullas criminal and terrorist regime over oil

@@celinyin1494 not happening like in iran. in iran per regime itself hang 3 daily. Not sure why you compare iran with usa. do you represent irans regime since they always comare iran with usa?
out on bail with a death penalty? that's weird... and wouldn't this be unusual enough for the iranian government to identify who the guy who talked to DW is?
Nothing wrong with the death penalty. Just needs to be used correctly.
Yeah and who gets to decide what is correct and incorrect?
@@TheNewRobotMaster Plain common sense? I don't think rape or serial killing can be regarded by anyone as a correct thing. Its not even a mistake you can just do. If proven guilty then a sadist gets hanged/electrocuted.
What a bloody ridiculous comment!
Correct is subjective
@@RuataLungchuang We have no right to take the life of another. Two wrongs don't make a right.
Even in irreligious sense there should be a line drawn for capital punishment. I mean would it be fair you let a criminal live in prison rest of his life, feeding and caring him timely who has killed a 50 innocent people?
Just imagine some day a criminal kills your parent or sibling unjustified and that person still lives on in prison, can you ever live a satisfied life like this?. How can you compensate such precious lives with letting the murderer live who has committed the utmost crime, which is killing someone.
In Iran though, majority of the people on death row don’t deserve to be there. It’s all lies by the government as an excuse to kill someone they might view as a threat to their power.
But most of the prisoners in Iran are political prisoners
Agreed. I'd rather see a country with the capital punishment that is used carefully and properly against the worst criminals that are proven guilty in a legitimate court. That's much more preferable than many western countries today that in a way worships criminals by giving them a second chance after second chance even though they've terrorized communities, murdered innocents and exploited society to create victims, steal and enrich themselves.
And now you look at which countries have the highest conviction rate per 10,000 citizens and then ask yourself why...
I agree 100%
US has the highest incarceration rate.
Because a large percentage of its population commits crime over and over.
We do. We keep building more prisons but keep religious nuts on the Supreme Court. See any issues with that?
The U.S. is followed by China, Brazil, India, and the Russian Federation.
We have a lot of criminals.
And a huge population, the drug war is totally decriminalized here now.. Oregon where I live is like Portugal in terms of Drug Laws 😂😊❤
What's wrong with death penalty if it's used against murderers?
Nothing wrong. Who cares about iran. they are a joke. They kill innocents whoever they wants
It's barbaric. Murder is wrong, plain and simple.
It's used to silence political discontent in Iran and China
@@joelxavier9465 Maybe this is good for the political order. The number of lives is very small compared to the population, so it’s easy to imagine that whatever benefits it provides might be worth it.
Did you not watch the video? Iran's authorities increase executions in order to scare the public whenever they suspect protests are coming. Too easy is it for the government to decide who is and isn't worthy of the death penalty, and change that decision when it suits their interests. You say it's okay against murderers... But it's never just against murderers.
As long as they are murderers and molesters, I'm fine with it.
Shhhh. Our current system white knights for murderers and child molesters.
314 people executed? Time to invade!
Agreed. That will be much more humane, just like invading Iraq was much more human in the long term than the abuses of the Hussain family.
India after being largest population, almost Zero death penalty every year....
Achievement of world's largest democracy.
guess you can call rape culture an achievement.
I hear there is almost no poverty in India
Almost zero is not zero.lol😂
“The number of people executed in India since independence in 1947 is a matter of dispute; official government statistics claim that only 57 people had been executed since independence. However, available information from other sources indicates that the official government figures are false, and the actual number of executions in India may run to several thousand.[1][2]”
That’s why there’s a lot of rapists in India, just saying
This is appalling, do we need to have sympathy for murderes now? Tell that to the families they ruined.
Humans killing Humans is a crime against humanity. I think religion is a terrible idea, too.
UK should have it.
We are to weak on criminals.
Problem is, good guys break the law once and they crack down on them, bad guys do it all the time and get a slap on the wrist.
The death penalty here would only punish the lesser of two evils in the same way the current legal system is more likely to punish good people who make innocent mistakes and smaller criminals over recurring ones.
Death penalty is absolutely necessary in some cases.
If anyone is curious, like I was, in 2021 the USA executed 11 people and Japan executed 3.
We should never take execution lightly but if the shoe fits and there is no doubt then I think it’s the right thing to do . Why make taxpayers keep killers alive with full time security facility & personnel , food , medical care room & board for the rest of their lives . That is not justice !
If you're talking about the US, execution is much more expensive than life without parole.
Iran has solved that problem. Perhaps you would like your country to follow suit?
They say it is because the death penalty is irreversible there is no way to undo a mistake. But I think it can be administered if the right criteria is met. A combination of DNA evidence, video evidence, etc. should be required in order to execute someone so that the chance of a mistake is significantly reduced. All those who do not meet the evidence criteria should just be given long prison sentences.
@@bruceluiz at one time we had chain gangs for less offenders to maintain roads and with good behavior allowed them shorter sentences . It was voluntary and a good thing . We had more death penalties as well . Human rights took over . I thing you give up your right to be a human when you commit premeditated murder !
Because - 1 potential error : are you saying the justice system of ( insert country) is always perfect? If you get it wrong with death penalty you can’t do anything to reverse a mistake in legal system.
2 cost it doesn’t save money : in a country with, any pretence of proper justice system, due to appeals etc far higher than people realise - most of the time more than food, housing etc of course you can ignore giving chance of appeal to “ save money” - sounds like a great system to just to get rid of political dissidents then.
3 death penalty doesn’t to act as any sort deterrent- so given 1&2 above why do it?
4 level of punishment, this is an opinion- unless you believe in magical afterlife justice, I would suggest someone rotting in jail for decade without hope of ever leaving,is better punishment for some crimes than a quick painless death. Here is also a hypocrisy eg USA if it is somewhere where majority do think there afterlife punishment - well why is it the state jobs to do that or don’t you trust your own god to do it ?
5 Civilised ethics ; another matter of opinion I know but unless your in an backwards country that still gets it morals from book written the Bronze Age etc but surely it’s hypocritical to say to citizen things like killing is wrong & evil- except when the state does it. Secondary evidence look at the countries that do the most executions- are they really the sort of countries that people are very keen to stay in if they have a choice?
Singapore has the death penalty as well. What’s the big deal? Just be a decent human being and this won’t be a concern.
"Singapore Statutes Online states chewing gum penalty fines for first-time convictions may range up to $100,000, a prison sentence of up to two years, or both." Maybe they don't like minty fresh breath also?
Can you be more naive? In iran decent means something other than in other countries. So what is decent? They tortured and killed a young woman for showing some hair. To them she was indecent. Do you see the problem yet?
@@tangerinetangerine4400 Naive? Watch the new cctv video evidence. Every country has their own history and culture. It’s not our place to dictate what is right or wrong, unless we are born and raised there.
@@tangerinetangerine4400 she was not executed she was murdered(could be unintentional) against law itself. death penalty in iran is only given to murderers drug dealers and rapists. i dont see anything wrong with that. but i agree it could be abused to excecute political oposition.
Singapore is well known for having a myriad of very strict laws with overly severe penalties. I wonder if there's some connection between the death penalty and that attitude.
Death penalty against corrupt politicians should be legalised.
no, it really shouldn't. nobody needs death penalty.
That's in the hands of the masses isn't it when it only takes one person to change the world
@@lisilein2 Even rapist's? Yeah death penalty maybe too much for punishment but how do you justify keeping a rapist or a serial killer who has no regard for others around him/her alive with your tax money?
Many of these death sentences are for rapers and drug dealers and in my opinion, it is completely true. Why you think all of them are innocent??? this is what spread in media but it is not correct at all
I get your point that execution is the highest form of penalty only for the most dangerous criminals. But the thing is that type of penalty is irreversible comparing to putting criminals into prison. So, there is significant risk that governments can abuse death penalties to kill political opponents. Also that gives birth to another type of abuse, so-called liberal democratic society puts pressure on governments they don't like for having death penalties. Look, they're blaming Iran but at the same time executions are a usual thing in such countries as Japan, India, Singapore, Taiwan (not a country, though) and USA
No one is advocating that convicted rapists are "all innocent." That is an unwarranted extrapolation. However there have been lots of people erroneously given the death penalty; as in, they were actually innocent. Are you okay with the state murdering some innocent people to give the death penalty to actual criminals? Here's a better question for you, how is the death penalty better than life in prison anyway? If you answered "it's cheaper", you would be wrong.
It's either execution, no possibility of parole or release into society to victimize others. Which is more inhumane?
The inhumane option is to take the risk of victimizing other innocent people by releasing a criminal. The countries that pretend to be "humane" in the west chooses that option, to their populations detriment.
Germany sure knows a lot about execution
Not really execution haven't been allowed for decades ( most germans lifetime) .
So most germans probably know as much as anyone who has ever cracked open a history book
You should come over here and try it out.
They're bringing in people by the millions from the most criminally active countries and barely punishes those who commit serious crimes to make up for what they did in the past lol. Lots of progressive countries do.
They learn from Putin, Stalin and other criminals, but it seems they forgot and now got weak and fear Putin.
Not actually 👎
death penalty is not barbaric, it is the mercy for the society. Dont understand this point, you are not knowing democracy.
Killing someone who doesn't want to die is not mercy.
Humans killing Humans is indeed barbaric.
@@tangerinetangerine4400 it's the mercy for the society, not for the criminals.
Death penalty for convicted rapist, murderers, pimps, etc
And now you look at which countries have the highest conviction rate per 10,000 citizens and then ask yourself why...
I've never heard of someone on death row having bail.
you would think they would be a flight risk
He is sick, that is why he got bail... Maybe he is under medical care that prisons cannot provide.
Me, neither.
It unhealthy to conflate unjust death sentences with just executions. I understand dw is against all executions. I believe that is a wrong position. There is a need for justice for victims. At the same time executions cannot be frivolous, like in Iran or China.
Execution is cruel. While the collective west may condemn Iran or other countries for carrying out this barbaric act, are they innocent of such act. In fact the collective west are executing more number of people than all those executed combined. Take for example the war in Iraq. How many innocent lives are executed by the collective west random bombing of civilian. What about bombing in Libya and Syria.
This was by no means the "collected West". Many countries, such as Germany and France, did not participate.
Apart from that, this is a completely different topic and a nonsensical comparison. Above all, one does not excuse the other.
Bombing is not judicial execution, and you are wrong about the collective West. The collective West does not judicially execute at all... that is if the USA is not counted.
Iran -- 228 executed per 1 million population.
USA -- 629 executed per1 million population.
There's nothing wrong with death sentence, as long as the sentenced is actually guilty and the crime is bad enough.
Judge to convicted murderer: "Killing is completely unacceptable and that is why we are killing you now."
Do you notice anything?
Let me suggest a little logic Arctic Alpha. Do you know what logic is Arctic Alpha? No, you don't ,or you couldn't have written such drivel. There can BE NO EXECUTIONS OF THE INNOCENT, IF THERE ARE NO EXECUTIONS.
You have to think your oil and gas crisis

Blood for blood eye for eye
Not very often we hear the US mentioned in the same breath as China and Iran.
USA get criticized for their crazy laws like anti-abortion.
Do you agree that people should be sentenced in Iran for being gay for example?
But the US is not comparable to these other two and they should have said so. We have effectively stopped all executions in the vast majority of jurisdictions and reduced them by about 90% in the rest, since 2003.
Since 2019 we've averaged less than seven executions per quarter, nearly all of which have been by Texas, Oklahoma, Alabama, Georgia, Missouri, and Arizona. In the vast majority of the other jurisdictions, there is no more capital punishment, either de jure or by political decision.
Countries that still have capital punishment are barbarous. Believe me, would you like to spend fifty years of your penal "life" being misused and abused on a daily basis, or get it over and done with. The victim's friends and families can know every day that the criminal act perpetrated by the prisoner has to be paid for every day of his life, year after year. What would you do, suffer every day in a maximum security prison, or painlessly get it over and done with?
Now criminals are free to be barbaric
@@kosiekoos9408 It's been proven over and over killing your own people does not stop crime. Look at the USA. The people are all well-armed, surveillance cameras everywhere, and a huge penal population...where's the problem here?
living at taxpayers expense , doing exercises, watching tv and eating or studying is not the right thing for a chronic criminal, they should be taken out... and by the way they are not done with at all.... there is a natural law called Karma and they will have to confront the consequences even beyond leaving current physical body.

The people of Iran must stay in for awhile longer, while your courts are prepared to perform a great injustice for your people, there is nothing to gain from going out now.
To those who are willing to listen,
From the beginning, your protests started out of anger due to violence, but violence does not end violence, neither does violent actions, and the words that start them. You’ve enraged the courts by your own hands, and only by removing your hands from their throats, May compassion come to your people again.
However few people are willing to listen to this, so do not let the numbers deter you.
A day comes where these storms will end, and the one who has endured them will be able to make the most of what is left; where mercy comes to your people again, and the sorrow of those who are gone may be lessened.
Even till today, those who have cried for you not to follow the path which led to their death, do not have their voices heard; because you do not value the well being of your people; over the causes you go out for.
The only law which may be passed to give rest for your people, is the law which is already in affect.
If you are patient, merciful, and willing to forgive; you will be able to stay in, while those who burn with rage go out; again you will be a light for them, allowing them another way for their voices to be heard.
When one cries, and they have someone to comfort them in their tears, their crying is not in vain; but those crying in the streets, have nothing to comfort them.
There are those of you who may be led to death because of your actions now, but allow this persecution to come without resistance, then you encourage others to help end the violence as well.
And those who stay in, persecution comes to you as well, but hold on, your gift still has value.
In an act of mercy, nothing is impossible.
Were the courts ever justified by their actions, words and brutality in this time, no; but they also need the light now, so hold on even for their sake, so they may remove the hands that suffocate your people.
Then the loss will be lessened on both sides, and friendships may be found to heal tour lands while the there is time.
Even just a few lives changed, makes a difference.
To those in the courts willing to listen, remove your authority, and you will see what your people need in service, and you may help your people see.
Count the cost from where you have fallen, and know on both sides, compassion opens the doors to peace. Take your persecution, and your mercy will show you the way, even in death.
Let all who still breathe go, however; continue on this path, and you will not stop burning, just as those who continue to go out, will also still burn.
Hope no innocent lives will be victim of execusion specially to those oppressive government.
Well let's introduce cocktail 🍸 parties for murderer, killer's and whatever else! In our time he's living on taxpayers money quite well daily fresh bedsheets, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, Healthcare, sports, and whatever else a modern prison has to offer 😉!
On the other side, in countries which have capital punishment, he's ask for his last meal and a last speech, Beautiful, because he never gave this chance to his Victims ,and on top today has more rights than his victim/s or their family!
But when I see People on the day of a murderer faces his final hours, people are on the street protesting, and the day after he murdered his victims , nobody is on the street protesting, shows, we are INSANE, and not the MURDERER!
In all honesty, I'm 100% for the death penalty. HOWEVER, it's obvious that it needs to solely revolve around demonstrable, irrefutable evidence (preferably video), and the crimes have to be extremely heinous. Repeat offenders are the most likely candidates (in my opinion).
I have *NO* sympathy for anyone who JUSTLY deserves to die for their crimes. But obviously, I'm not cool with any countries who toss it around randomly, or issue them without due process.

I generally don't support the death penalty. The only time I support it is if the incarcerated individual kills someone in prison. If someone is in prison, they're no longer a risk to the population, but if they are a risk to fellow inmates, they should be executed. Currently, in the US, criminals are placed in solitary confinement, where they are completely alone for 23 hours of the day and granted 1 hour of exercise. I consider this to be cruel and unusual punishment.
What if someone's a serial killer though? Like if they've killed 50 people.

Execution Iran - who made the comparison. ?
Why did he get the death penalty?
Execution - Question - How it has been measured and who did that ?
It's very complicated when we think about death penalty. For example i think that child molesters should get a death penalty, someone (from Iran) might think that marrying kids is ok but a cheating wife deserves to die. There is no right or wrong, a lot of people face injustice and it's a horrible feeling. I think USA and Iran are both corrupt countries and can give death penalty to inoccent people, but because it's more common in Iran it makes it much worse, their religion is more strict and their women's life quality and accaptence is equal to 0.
Capital punishment, as it is practiced today, is pointless. It has no value as a deterrent, but it also makes no sense as a form of punishment, as nowadays the goal is a quick kill with as little suffering as possible. If someone brutally killed your best friend, would you really want for that person to be given this easy way out? And also, how much fairness is in the death penalty? Does a person who painlessly killed someone with one clean shot really deserve the same punishment as someone who tortured their victims before killing them? I am not generally opposed to the death penalty, I think there are situatuons that call for it, but at this point there is not a single country that applies it in a fair and logical manner. If you want to practice "an eye for an eye", then it makes no sense to serve everyone the same kind of death. Either truly practice "an eye for an eye" by letting murderers die the same way that they killed, or abolish the death penalty all together.
by your logic you might sanction torture of the criminal. No death but a miserable existence.
Is abolished in Mexico and people kill there very easy.
