Mike I have been a subscriber from the beginning. I would never say anything disrespectful or derogatory BUT BROTHER this start is right there check what’s going on ,order the parts it has spark it has air it has fuel ( crap delivery) you know man !!! Your subs have been requesting this car for weeks if not months including myself it may run rough but it should run lol . Mike i honestly love your channel but the heck with the walk arounds get this one running . The haters are going to attack me but I don’t care … get it started .. nothing but support and love BK. From CT
Well Mike the car in my opinion will run, you are close to success, and since you're a Mercedes guy the knowledge you have gained will be useful on future Mercedes adventures.
Mike the "Favorite Drink" after the Disco, Janice and F150 should be Bourbon! If it isn't you are tougher than you think! WONDERFUL Video for APRIL FOOLS DAY! Good luck Mike.
Mike I'm sure someone has mentioned it by now but if not, many local hydraulic hose shops will make up a new hose for much less then Karl Benz ancestors will charge you. Also: How to put out a gas fire: Water will be ineffective but you can smother the flames with a blanket. You can also use a powder or foam extinguisher. How to put out a chemical fire: ever use water as this can spread the chemicals further. Extinguish these fires with foam or dry powder.
Mike, you rebuilt the injectors in another of your project cars. I suggest you do it on this 190 after your verify the fuel pressure is correct. Just those pld rotted o-rings that seal the injectors into the head can cause low compression.
I've been wondering if you'd checked the injectors. Have to admit, I did laugh at the puddle from the broken fuel line. When a car is that old, I'd replace all flexible fuel lines as a matter of course. Keep going Mike, won't be long before it's running sweetly.
You will be so proud once it runs. You will have learned so much. Now you will be able to bring back so many Mercedeses. You are vastly deeper into technology than you were. It's actually astounding.
I own a 190D (we just changed the transmission this last weekend) along with a buddy and this is one of the reasons he talks about not getting a 190E, but you are a true war hero if you get it started. Keep these videos coming, they are very entertaining and informative.
Hey Mikey, The interior of that Mercedes is really beautiful! I forgot how many miles it has on it? For the sake of drama for your channel, I would suggest not giving us the end result of this post in the thumbnail! Make us wait till the end to find out! Great to see you finally found the problem though. Can’t wait to see you fix it in here run
This one is really fighting back , but you will get it sorted , it runs on starting fluid so hopefully only glogged injectors & replace the fuel hose , I think your nearly there 😁👍🇦🇺
I have a 1984 W201. 2.3 engine. It would not run when I got it. Replaced the fuel distributor fuel pump, and the filter, and it started. I've driven it for over 200K, now, and it starts every time. I have learned so much about the Bosch mechanical fuel injection system over the last 15 years with this car. I paid $200 for it. I'm glad I bought it.
I think it's nice that you can get parts for it no matter how long it takes. I certain it will run when you get the parts since it ran on starter fluid. Once again we get to see everyone's video and movie favourite, Cliff Hanger. Great video. Thank you.
😶If ever there was a car that should NOT be started unless it was in the farthest corner of the backyard when attempts are made to start it, it is this one.
Mike! You have it in you! Being a vintage Mercedes owner myself I know how frustrating it can be. Sometimes it’s the dumbest fix that IS the fix. I have a good feeling about that hose. These Bosh CIS fuel injection systems are so reliant on exact fuel pressure. Don’t give up this close to the finish line!
25:39 that’s actually a good thing but I’ll definitely think it would start up after fixing the hose. Because it’s not getting any pressure to the fuel pump to prime the injectors to start.
My son had a 1983 380sl, he gave up on that car after about 3 years of chasing problems like you are. Now he's got a 1973 Buick Riviera, said he's also chasing problems with some evil cycle.
Monkey Wrench "I'll be back" Mike. Oh the fun you have, I took a sledge hammer to a 78 Buick once many years ago. It didn't help, but it made me happy.
I would of done that outside in case it burst into flames and and it doesn't burns your house down nice to see you have a jumper pak like Randy now your walk arounds will better for you man I feel sorry for you Mike been there I know how it feels
Unbathed elderly man burns garage down laboring under delusion that $200 salvage Mercedes will actually run. Is committed by neighbors for 72-hour observation.
These cars equipped with a Bosch CIS heavily rely on vacuum lines, and a single vacuum leak can easily make your car a non-runner. By the way, what you replaced together with the fuel pump is not the fuel pressure regulator. It's the fuel pressure accumulator. Its main purpose is to maintain residual pressure in the system. The easiest way to spot a faulty pressure accumulator is a car failing to start when the engine is at operating temperature. There are many reasons why the car won't start, but here's a few: - Obviously those injectors were not in good condition. Those are mechanical injectors that operate above 3.2 bar if I recall correctly. Ultrasonic cleaning or additives have very little or no effect at all on these. - Sometimes, the stupidest thing, such as bad wiring can cause the car to not run or stall. The ECU receives signal from different sensors: coolant temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, air-flow sensor, O2 sensor... If a single wire bends and interrupts continuity, the car will likely stall. If you want to run the car on fully mechanical mode, you can unplug the EHA (black electromagnetic actuator beneath the fuel distributor), which is what receives all the information from the ECU and adjusts the differential pressure inside the fuel distributor. Another way to do this is by removing the OVP (gray relay with a red cap and a 10Amp fuse that is located next to the fuel pump relay). This will not provide voltage to the ECU. - I have noticed that you're missing a vacuum hose that you need to address. See the valve cover, there's a hose that goes from there to the air filter and ICV (Idle Control Valve). If you are missing that hose, vacuum leaks will be huge, and car will never be able to start, or it run rough or stall after a second.
Secondly, please get a proper fire extinguisher. Water is not suitable for a petroleum based fire. The fire rides on top of the water and your home insurance may be invalidated by this activity. Love your show.
Your airflow metering plate hardly moves down when cranking. No plate movement = no fuel out off injectors into engine The plate should move downward by about 1/16” from engine vacuum during cranking, adjust your 3mm Allen screw by jumpering fuel pump relay 7+8 then depress plate by 1/16” by hand, adjust Allen screw until you hear the injectors squealing Peter
Mike you have the patience of a saint! I hope the views are at least making it worth your while to keep polishing that turd! Never liked that Luft Fuel Injection!
I would adjust the air flow sensor plate in or out and see if the engine tries to fire. If it tries, youre going in the right direction. 3mm allen key. Good luck Mike.
Maybe with the gas spewing out that hose you just didn’t have enough pressure getting to the engine? I don’t really know. I absolutely know didly squat about cars. Compared to me, you’re a Master Mechanic.
Have you checked the Crankshaft position sensor or (CPS)? If that fails, the engine will spin over till eternity and it will never start. I had one fail on a 1988 Renault and it just would not start, the moment it was replaced the car received the signal to the engine ignition control module and immediately started running and has been no problem since. From what I’ve managed to find( but don’t take it as gospel) it’s hidden under or around the rear of the motor under the intake screwed into the opening in the block. I think it takes the pulse from the flywheel which tells the engine when to fire. Good luck.
Mike, you gotta get new plugs and rotor and absolutely, do an oil change. Mercedes like any woman always feels better when she's fully spruced-up! TRUST me!
And I didn’t give that one to you so you can’t blame me 😂 😊
Were is randy he is apart of this he gita help finish the job
Hello Mike don't give up it's got to run and it's good to watch
I saw the gas spraying out and said BLOODY HELL!
It's those darn injectors, they are blocked ☹️ you got this Mike! 🤘🏽
She's gonna live! Can hardly wait!
They say 'don't flog a dead horse'. I laughed all through the video, it was great. Thanks.
It is progressing slowly to test Ur nerves. I know that U have the patience to outlast the little girl and bring her back to life. Forge ahead Mikea!

GREAT VIDEO MIKE. Got a special song for you:Smile from Nat King Cole,it will help you through this nightmare
poor Mikey can't get a break. He thought Janis would be the death of him...
Mercy! If it ain’t one thing it’s another. Don’t burn the house down.
wow that's a big leak . almost got her running Mike .
Wow! That car is fighting you every step of the way! Holy cow! Hang in there Mike. You'll get it going.
I’ve said it before Mike, rip that over complicated Mercedes fuel system off and just run a carburettor!
Great content as always Mike.
Cheers Pat 🇦🇺
Well Mike the car in my opinion will run, you are close to success, and since you're a Mercedes guy the knowledge you have gained will be useful on future Mercedes adventures.
You'll get this one running, no doubt. That bosch injection is complicated, but once set up, it's dead reliable. Keep up the great content!
Mike the "Favorite Drink" after the Disco, Janice and F150 should be Bourbon! If it isn't you are tougher than you think! WONDERFUL Video for APRIL FOOLS DAY! Good luck Mike.
We are rooting for you. Keep going! Please fit in the seal for the Ford truck that’ll be nice
Been looking forward to seeing it fixed. Youre so close, but man that gas looked real bad. Blow air through the injector tubes.
To answer your questions , Mike , yes . The thumbnail sure had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣
I miss my old 300E, best car I ever had. I love watching you save old Mercedes. ❤

Nothing like watching this guy work on a car with his eyes closed
Getting closer ! Excelsior!

Brilliantly annoying 😂😂 keep at it buddy! Love this car😊
If you had no sparc it wouldn't have started on ether.
Hold on Mike...I'm still laughing😂Okay i,m ready now
I love the circus music Mike👍👍
You will be so proud once it runs. You will have learned so much. Now you will be able to bring back so many Mercedeses. You are vastly deeper into technology than you were.
It's actually astounding.
Maybe it's possible the fuel injectors are plugged. Love the content keep up the good work.

A for effort, Mike.
That old gas looks like soy sauce.

Hey Mike from Uk. I always liked the 190e and be great to save this one. Great content-looking forward to the next edition! 👍👍👍
Well you finally found the source of the problem Mike, I'm willing to bet you'll eventually get it to run. 😎🤞👌👍
I've got my platform shoes on and my Disco Duck record ready to play .
Great effort. What else is there to do anyway on a Saturday afternoon except for self torture.
Great video Mike Thanks
This one is really fighting back , but you will get it sorted , it runs on starting fluid so hopefully only glogged injectors & replace the fuel hose , I think your nearly there 😁👍🇦🇺
Oh boy I guess it will be another 6 months with the 190E. 😂😂😂
Good job Mike. You making progress 😎😎👍👍

Stick with it Mike you will get there in the end buddy. Keep smiling buddy 👍🙂👍
Mike, if you change everything, you'll have a new Merc! And then maybe it will start.
So much content!! 😂😂😂 you gotta love that Mercedes

This car is being a pain in the rear likes to fights you every step of the way. Great work and thanks for sharing this with us take care
With the pump on, lift the deflector plate on the distributor to Help get rid of air faster
She's got the juice to get loose LOL
Mike hang in there dude
My son had a 1983 380sl, he gave up on that car after about 3 years of chasing problems like you are. Now he's got a 1973 Buick Riviera, said he's also chasing problems with some evil cycle.
😂😂😂😂 Oh Mike, what a disaster at the end. The fountain of gasoline
Mike your are very close to starting the old girl..
Great content! You knowledge of the units are very impressive..keep it coming.
Hey Mike, this is all a dream the car starts😂.
One step closer to the finish line 🎉🎉
Monkey Wrench "I'll be back" Mike. Oh the fun you have, I took a sledge hammer to a 78 Buick once many years ago. It didn't help, but it made me happy.
I give you credit for your perseverance. I’d call and pay a junkyard to tow the 190 & F150 away.
I’d stick with Janice & the MG.
I would of done that outside in case it burst into flames and and it doesn't burns your house down nice to see you have a jumper pak like Randy now your walk arounds will better for you man I feel sorry for you Mike been there I know how it feels
Great to see the Disco Inferno again! Was super excited! 😄

Peter
You will get there Mike, better luck next time, new hose and injectors will do the trick.
Before you get new injectors, replace the fuel hose then retest. Can't really gauge the health of the injectors with inadequate fuel pressure.
If you get it going u should take it to Randy's shop and show him it's alive
Mike, keep at it. This thing is going to run soon!
Mike you have the patience of a saint! I hope the views are at least making it worth your while to keep polishing that turd! Never liked that Luft Fuel Injection!
Wow bad fuel and hose crazy glad safe no 🔥 and 🐶 safe
Mike with the gas line leaking that bad ,you probley did not have enough presure to make the injecters work
Great progress diagnosing the issue(s)!
I would adjust the air flow sensor plate in or out and see if the engine tries to fire. If it tries, youre going in the right direction. 3mm allen key. Good luck Mike.
Keep sharing your valuable tips, learning a lot from you. Thanks.
At least she wants to come back to life
I think she will start with the new hose and injectors. Maybe you can get more of the old fuel out when you change the hose.
is there a cliff nearby that you could send that car over? LOL Thank you for the great videos!!!!!
You've got two hopes with that car - Bob Hope, and no hope!
Mike you have the worse luck I have that I ever seen, bless your heart
Mike seems to check squirt patterns quite frequently... This comment will make more sense after you watch the video! 😂😂😂
She deserves to be given another chance
Keep working on disco inferno I believe she might start did you check the throttle body when you put starting fliud it ran good
Bingo ! Mike you found issue not enough fuel pressure because injectors wont spray after replacement it will work again 😉😊
Then Patrick Duffy came back cause it was all a dream
Maybe with the gas spewing out that hose you just didn’t have enough pressure getting to the engine? I don’t really know. I absolutely know didly squat about cars. Compared to me, you’re a Master Mechanic.

The engine is running on ether (starter fluid), which means it has spark and at the correct time, which means the sensor is working.
@@300DBenz a bad cps will in fact do that happened to me new 1 fixed for me
Mike, you gotta get new plugs and rotor and absolutely, do an oil change. Mercedes like any woman always feels better when she's fully spruced-up! TRUST me!
Block injectors Mike. I was shouting at you on the tv, couldn't you hear me? I'm in England.
