I love this vid of nux because he shows us the pain of different characters and at the same time showing us how we can handle it ourselves this is amazing
I’m almost speechless. Showing us the world of pain in such a serious way is not what I usually see Nux making and I’m impressed by it. No matter the energy from the video, he always reminds us to stay weird.
for a second during the intro talking about how we are built partially by how we are broken really hit and definitely gave me some cold chills because it really reminds you what life has done to you or at least it does for me
I like hearing you get real and deep layered with characters. Your essays show me a different aspect of dissecting characters roles and why they morph into things relating to life. The Good, bad, ugly, and just trying to get by.
Nux you reminded me of my favorite childhood anime quote. "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." Mewtwo.
Except, the quote's wrong. Sure, you have a choice in how you turn out, but the circumstances of your birth can change which choices you even have. Someone born in North Korea and someone born in America do not have the same choices and they will never turn out the same. You can only choose how you react to those circumstances.
Pain/ Nagato is a character that I truly relate to and understand. Being a Blondie living in an African country, I face a lot, I mean a lot of stigma and bullying. I also lost my brother, who showed me great love. This caused me so much pain and hatred. I eventually started fighting back. In my teens, I would beat n*ggas up and say "It's nothing personal".🤣 Growing up, I had change for the better. Now, even people older and richer than me, respect me. They tell me I'm very impactful.
You forgot to mention that the doctor injecting Jinx with the permanent version of Shimmer caused Jinx’s mental state to break down even more than it previously was.
Thank you Nux, I've been a fan of your character breakdowns for a long time. It was your content (and also Itachi) many moons ago, that helped me learn villains are not annoying requirements to have a "real" story, but an absolute necessary foundation for a great story. Would be lying if I said I didn't miss these being the 'main content' of the channels, but I'm happy you're making content that you seem to love creating. Stay weird fam
One person who became a villain and hero because of pain is Char Aznable from Mobile Suit Gundam universal century. He’s a man who’s done a lot of good and a lot of bad, but all he knows how to do is be a soldier, and he will either be a hero saving lives or a villain who destroys. GOATED anime character.
This takes me back to the first time I saw Nux, the analysis of character themes and storys. The pain that everyone goes thru is the same but everyone react and remember is different, I have work with very difficult people form time to time to the point some may attack me but I always think they could just be having an off day. Truly no one is perfect but we all can try to improve
In Denji's case its hard to describe exactly how much pain is actually there from an anime only perspective. Shits fucked yo. In Jinx's case its the best depiction of a fall into madness I have ever seen. Its a visual representation of the jokers "One Bad Day" line. What a truly horrible series of events can do to a person mentally.
Nobody truly knows what pain does to someone.. until the pain is inside them destroying them from the inside. The hatred and pain from the world can break people
I wasn't prepared for the heart felt ending. I wasn't on the verge of tears you were, but that was a nice message I keep hearing but can't truly take to heart but I will someday
Pain alone does not make you who you are; your reactions to the pain are what truly shape you. Many people experience the same pain, but choose to respond differently.
i think that DRASTICALLY depends on what experiences caused you pain... An American whos biggest life pain was a divorce , can't compare his life to a war orfan survivor in Yemen
@@Dan_Kanerva Oh indeed, but in each vast tragedy, there are many affected. Yet their responses are not identical. There are inherent differences in personality and the effect of sheer random chance which slightly alters the causality, sending each one down different paths. Probability is a fascinating thing. It led to a failed revolutionary getting one more chance thanks to a quirk of fate which led his victim down the wrong road. And WWI was the result, as was everything afterward. Single events can change the world, or be totally forgotten. One can never tell, unless one finds the web wherein the strings are tugged.
@@Dan_Kanerva *Alondro solders away in his secret laboratory* Indeed... and I am about to complete my Fate Alteration Engine. This should be fascinating.... *And then Escaflowne happened...*
Pain to be, is better than say, Madara on a thematic level as while not as strong as the Ghost of the Uchiha, his ideals are superior which makes sense as I heard a rumor that Naruto was meant to end with the Pain fight, but got extended because it was popular so Pain being not just an antagonist, but someone that opposes Naruto on just about everything he stands for because of his tragic past fits.
what i like about theses videos is that it show that you are able to deconstruct, extrapolate, and analyze content. that you don't just make joke, laugh at people (and with said people too) , that you show that you can do research and elaborate on specific subject.
I’ve been loving this wave of og Nux videos I feel in love with your channel for your anime content and I love ever second of it thank you for these and I hope for come
Nah, what made me who I am today was positive emotions and experiences. Driving me to experience such over and over, while helping me open up to the perspectives of others, even if I don't agree with or particularly like them. To you and others, that might make me seem like I was damaged before, and am now healing; however, it's closer to a wild animal finding warmth in the better parts of humanity. It was just my nature before, and that nature has evolved into something both better, and in some ways more terrifying.
Thank you Nux, the timing of this video couldn't be better with the career change I just had to start today. I appreciate all the content you create for us. No one does blends together humor and serious topics quite this well.
“Don’t play. It’s six of us. You know we jump on every set… and the world shall know pain” “There’s six of us. You know we bout that action… and the world will know pain” -Pain from Naruto probably
nux, i loved the video, and i miss the old style you had, i completely understand changing it up to expand your audience but thank you for making something like this
30k views on this is criminal. Loving the old style, I remember binging some of your analysis videos back in the day to get me through some tough times. Much appreciated, glad to hear you can still enjoy these.
As Much as the infinite Tsukiyomi was a cool concept of ideas. I would have much rather have Pains plan involving the Akatsuki in trying to control all wars. Go watch the clip on YT titled. The Akatsuki’s true plan. Hearing Pain just talking about human kind and war was just chilling! Nagato was only following orders from Obito for survival. Not because he genuinely cared about his ideas. Pain and Obito literally had different plans involving the tailed beats. Naturally both of them would have foughten over them. I wished Naruto and Nagato had their talk. But Nagato and Konan leave the Organization to someday come back in the war arc. Obito has to deal with The ninja Alliance plus Pain and Konan joining in to take down Obito to get the tailed beast back. Madara meets Pain and tells him about the truth of his eyes. That Nagato was never a true savior. Madara created him by giving him his powers. But Nagato made that power his own and created his own ideology. Obito and pain have a battle.. along with Madara and pain finally meeting talking about their viewpoint on the world. Konan literally said to Obito she was watching him for years planning for this moment to kill him! Secondly Pain’s plan of controlling the wars has nothing to do with putting people in a dream!! In the anime before Konan and Obito fought. Obito said Both Pain and Konan knew of his plan! In the manga That dialogue didn’t happen…. Even so! If Obito wanted Pains Rinnegan. Konan And Pain aren’t just gonna let it happen.. They would’ve all fight regardless at some point! I also Believe what if Pain and Konan were using Obito to locate the tailed beasts?? They were just playing house with him.. like they did care for his goals lol! Nagato said Yahiko’s dream became his! Yahiko was the original person who said I will become a god and change the world! Nagato did everything Yahiko wanted! I really don’t think Pain cared for what Obito wanted. The only reason why Pain took orders from Him. Was because of his real body! But even so. Pain imo was planning to kill Obito with Konan!
Nux, "We're now going to talk about.... Jynx... from Pokemon! No one understands her pain. Being married to Mr. Popo was brutal." Hail Teamfourstar. ;D
Such an interesting subject to tackle, and anime has so many perfect examples of Pain and how it affects characters in different ways, Should’ve mentioned Gintoki IMO as he handles serious pain and trauma in very nuanced and interesting way, nonetheless great video though, I relate with all of those villains 😈
Nux, if you could have more videos like this that would be great - if you don't wish to or want to do other content will still be here for it but I definitely like this sort of content
The king of analysis as ever Nux. Wonderfully said. On the theme of antagonists, I would love to see you talk about Azula. Your videos on other avatar characters and my own rewatch of the series recently is making me wanna see your thoughts on these characters
Such an amazing video. You truly showed how each character was affected by their pain and perfectly conveyed their emotions and thoughts. Great video Nux! Had me tearing up at the end with Jinx lol
Really great video looking forward to more like these. Denji makes sense as all he wanted initially was to get out of debt and live a normal life. After having gotten that and no education living in the moment makes sense. Do videos like this on: Dr. Doom, Magneto, Wolverine, Spidey, Superman, Teen Titans, almost everyone in Batman, Superman, Ninja Turtles (03-07), Ninja Turtles: Last Ronin comics, Vegeta, everyone from Attack on Titan, Avatar the Last Airbender, etc. I would also recommend doing a video on Gojo from the anime My Dress-up Darling. Gojo is also a lot like Batman: dead parents, from a rich family, raised by a father-figure, learned his craft from a grand master who's a father-figure, socially awkward, was sad, trouble making friends, inherited/will inherit a lot of money & a lucrative family business, & hangs out with great looking girls.
I'm glad u also feel like he was the best antagonist, he was the chosen one, had the RINNEGAN, can bring people back to life, was jiraiyas studen, was the Amekage☔️
Love all your content, but I'll be real it's great to see this kind of content again. I know how much you love a good character and although I doubt you will have the time to research this one. But I will throw this one out there. The best antagonistic I have ever experienced goes to Emet Selch of Final fantasy xiv. He is almost the Final fantasy version of you.😁😁 Picture Nox from Wakfu then magnify his trauma of losing his family to losing everyone in his world.
After all this commentary on how your pain is part of you, but doesn't define you, and it's up to you how you react to it, and all that jazz, somehow "Stay weird, fam" hits harder than usual.
People who dont like Denji clearly do not understand that a lack of expectation= greater happiness. Denji does not need much motivation because his basic expectations in life are being able to eat a slice of bread...eating bread with jelly was a dream for him that brought him the same level of joy as you getting to eat your favorite meal because its your birthday. He doesn't need a significant driving force to gain satisfaction because he lived a life with so little anything more then what he had is enough to keep fighting, and to keep it is enough to keep growing. If you want happiness in life don't seek money, experience having nothing and learn to be satisfied with that first. If you can be satisfied with nothing, if you have anything more then nothing you will not only feel happiness it becomes apart of you and no one can take it away because the conditions for your happiness are so miniscule that as long as you can eat, and have a roof over your head life is good! And this is why Denjis drive and motivation makes sense and perfectly suits him as a character because all he had was some bread, a dog, and a metal shack and he was content with just that, so eating good food and touching a boob is enough for him to keep fighting in order to live!
I really liked this one. Using characters from fiction helps me process emotions. Any time you come up with another one of these I'd be egar to see it.
People always shit on Nagato and say he’d just start an arms race, and my question is how the fuck is anyone else supposed to creat a 10 tailed beast!? Also it would be tragic if after the events of Arlong park, all the Fishmen are taken into slavery.
I love this vid of nux because he shows us the pain of different characters and at the same time showing us how we can handle it ourselves this is amazing

Holy shit I forgot about that quote lol And if any animal has gone through enough pain (besides literally almost every dog in Jojo lol), it's Mewtwo

Sure, you have a choice in how you turn out, but the circumstances of your birth can change which choices you even have. Someone born in North Korea and someone born in America do not have the same choices and they will never turn out the same. You can only choose how you react to those circumstances.
That was rough on the feels, very well spoken and thought out, but still rough on the feels because it was so well done
