+Tiffany Chin THANK YOU for saying this! From personal experience and accounts from ABC friends, getting severely criticized and shamed for not being fluent like a native-speaker just alienates us and makes us feel a strong sense of resentment. When I visited Chinatown LA for the first time in 11 years, the locals shook their heads when I just communicated in English. So glad people are actually learning their respective languages these days. I'm fluent in my mother language but I'm trying to learn more languages now. Good luck to everyone
Thanks for the video. My son is an ABC(Australia) and nearly 5 years old now. He speaks Cantonese at home, English at school and Mandarin to his Grandparents. I really hope he can manage to speak Chinese when he grows up.
Ed Sheeran艾德希兰ai de xi lan. Although in China there is a nick name called Boss Huang, cuz the very first person who recommended him on Acfun, his Id was 黄老板 Huang Lao Ban, which is exactly Boss Huang.
bintuae1 yet you are so mean, Languages are for communication. Thus, you cant speak someone's English name to another who doesnt speak English. And to be honest, English is not sufficient for pronouncing a Chinese name.
It was pretty obvious that Allen was one of the better Chinese speakers in the group from his intro but goddamn his mom is savage lmao. Still it was obvious she and all the other parents loved their kids a lot and that was really sweet. :')
A friend of mine at work, who is an astonishingly wonderful guy, grew up in Hong Kong. He now lives in Canada ( alongside me ) and told me that in an effort to integrate properly to the society, he has only let his kids speak english since they could talk. It breaks my heart to know that a parent cannot speak to their child in their native language. I love when people try to integrate as best they can, but for everybody out their, learning your cultural language can be a wonderful experience. Don't let the ancestry die :)
Totally here out of my own volition and not because the great director of the video was bribing us with cute emojis on twitter~ But really! The videos get better with each passing week! You guys are all amazing lmao this is both parts super adorable and hilarious hahaha Absolutely subscribed!
I'm a Chinese born Indonesian. I speak 3 languages but Chinese is not one of them. Sometimes I feel ashamed because I never spoke it once and I'm really bad at it. I feel like I have to back to my roots.
+- Bruh, don't even feel bad. I am of Chinese heritage but lived in Indonesia for 11 years and spent the rest of my life afterwards in the US. I speak 4 languages, but Chinese is not one of them. One at a time!
+- I'm Indonesian born Chinese too. I moved to this particular area where the Chinese Indonesians are very prejudiced against the other Chinese Indonesians who can't speak or understand Chinese e.g from Java areas. They said that those people are uncultured :/ Anyway what languages do you speak?
Pig Killer Speaking Mandarin or any other Chinese dialects was outlawed for a long time in Indonesia, as part of their anti-communist purging. It was outlawed until around 2001, though some provinces didn't enforce the law too much.
i am taiwan chinese, it is very happy to see you all pick up the chinese even your chinese ability still far behind me haha but definitely you all speak english ways better than i do 我們一起加油學好中文跟英文!let’s learn chinese and english well together bros and sis!
For me it's also quite complicated: 所以呢,我跟我北京老婆在家里现在说的是英语, although that's a foreign language for both of us, 要不然老外中文比英语好。。。
James Alexander Huang I think they're just being modest? I couldn't understand, they are Americans, why was it pathetic not to speak Chinese? Being an ethnic Chinese doesn't automatically make you a cultural Chinese ~~~ Btw in my city my local friends are actually more interested in Chinese culture than I do. I found this particularly interesting. The most racist people are Asians themselves, not western culture supremacy:)
I think this is really sweet and I sincerely hope these kids try to hang on to their language whether its Cantonese or Mandarin (did they say?). In America its great to be more than one culture.
we're all yellow, but growing up in a different environment really defines who you actually turn out to be. in average, chinese locals are much more introvert than American born chinese. i really adore yr confidence and love those contagious vibes you guys deliver. 😍

I've been literally in love with the Chinese language since I was a little child. I was always in awe when people spoke it and I would always ask them to teach me something.
1:25 when you open the fridge and realize that someone took your food without asking
When his mom said he could never be an astronaut... that was just the best! xD
This feels more like a prank than a challenge hahahaha
“i don't just like you ,l love you”流泪了 我也很想妈妈 可能外国朋友和二代三代华人朋友用英文看这句话感受不到用中文说出来的分量吧 中国的父母是很少会这样说的 听到这一句我真的瞬间流泪 T﹏T
Surprisingly most of them still retain their chinese accents when they speak chinese
Allen is hilarious haha I'd love to see more of them speaking or trying to speak Chinese haha this was rlly fun to watch!
ALLEN'S MOM THROWING SHADE AT HIM RIGHT AFTER HE SAID HE WANTS TO BECOME AN ASTRONAUT AHAHAHAHAHAHAH my mom does that too don't worry

+宋欣睿 ay thanks for the info! that's actually really interesting :o
Looking forward to more of your videos
sounds so awkward.. hate how english names sound in chinese.
bintuae1 yet you are so mean, Languages are for communication. Thus, you cant speak someone's English name to another who doesnt speak English. And to be honest, English is not sufficient for pronouncing a Chinese name.
Ariel Morrison
Ariel Morrison
"Mom I love Dad more"
"That's fine!"
Lmaooo
The astronaut guy got roasted by his own mother lol.

i am not chinese but foreigner who learns chinese and i love it! i could understand half of what they said and i feel super happy
90% of the humor came from the Chinese parents just doing their thing. Hilarity ensues.
That was so much fun, gave me a laughing fit I didn't particularly need but certainly enjoyed. Thanks for the entertainment.
Chinese parents crushing your dreams at it's finest 😭😂
It was pretty obvious that Allen was one of the better Chinese speakers in the group from his intro but goddamn his mom is savage lmao. Still it was obvious she and all the other parents loved their kids a lot and that was really sweet. :')
I’m korean/chinese/American and oh my god 😂😂
Reaaaally?? aww
Oh that’s really cool 😊
@Im Makkachoking its possible if one of their parents is mixed too
Im a korean/ japanese/ chinese/ african-american cat.
I speak Cantonlish and Manglinglish and Cantonmanglinese
A friend of mine at work, who is an astonishingly wonderful guy, grew up in Hong Kong. He now lives in Canada ( alongside me ) and told me that in an effort to integrate properly to the society, he has only let his kids speak english since they could talk. It breaks my heart to know that a parent cannot speak to their child in their native language. I love when people try to integrate as best they can, but for everybody out their, learning your cultural language can be a wonderful experience. Don't let the ancestry die :)
That was so stupid of him.
3:54 SHE SINGLE HANDEDLY CRUSHED HIM, I CANT 😂
Totally here out of my own volition and not because the great director of the video was bribing us with cute emojis on twitter~
But really! The videos get better with each passing week! You guys are all amazing lmao this is both parts super adorable and hilarious hahaha Absolutely subscribed!
+Terry He (何天宇) Your northeastern mandarin accent is really funny!
3:19 " Ma do you like me"
Mom: "Ofcorse I do! If I didn't like you, who would I like"
😂😂😂😂
I'm a Chinese born Indonesian. I speak 3 languages but Chinese is not one of them. Sometimes I feel ashamed because I never spoke it once and I'm really bad at it. I feel like I have to back to my roots.
+- It's never too late to learn anything:))
I've learned Chinese for 3 months. It's so hard but I'm not going to give up!
Lucas Silva jia you!
i am taiwan chinese, it is very happy to see you all pick up the chinese
even your chinese ability still far behind me haha
but definitely you all speak english ways better than i do
我們一起加油學好中文跟英文!let’s learn chinese and english well together bros and sis!
yhtzou weird flex but ok
+Jackie Lee
+Jackie Lee
Joyce Lau
Class Vintage
I just love this video. I’ve watched it about 5 times now
This seems like an awesome channel! I came to Canada when I was 10 so your channel speaks to me a lot. Where are you guys based at?
+Lily Li the 六ix
For me it's also quite complicated: 所以呢,我跟我北京老婆在家里现在说的是英语, although that's a foreign language for both of us, 要不然老外中文比英语好。。。
It's sad their children never spoke with them in Chinese before this video was made. I don't find any fun in it.
James Alexander Huang I think they're just being modest? I couldn't understand, they are Americans, why was it pathetic not to speak Chinese? Being an ethnic Chinese doesn't automatically make you a cultural Chinese ~~~
Btw in my city my local friends are actually more interested in Chinese culture than I do. I found this particularly interesting. The most racist people are Asians themselves, not western culture supremacy:)
It's cute how they have a phone conversation with their mothers❤
I think this is really sweet and I sincerely hope these kids try to hang on to their language whether its Cantonese or Mandarin (did they say?). In America its great to be more than one culture.
(3:34) as he said "but you have only 2 childrens" i was so HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA
Ikr that’s so cute haahahahha He also has Dongbei accent which is super cute and hilarious
we're all yellow, but growing up in a different environment really defines who you actually turn out to be. in average, chinese locals are much more introvert than American born chinese. i really adore yr confidence and love those contagious vibes you guys deliver. 😍
Mom: "You don´t have a single muscle on your body! Yet you still believe you can be an astronaut!"
Omg loved so hard at this onexD
+Vanessa Z ha the mom is savage
It's so fun to watch when ur ABC too and you're fluent in both English and 中文
I’m just shook about how amazing the girl’s pronounciations are like
👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻 👏🏻
Edit: I see want want cookie and now I’m jealous
Aww... I was so excited b/c Jen was the only one I actually understood w/o subs since she spoke Canto...but that died in like 5 sec. LOL
And omfg I love Allen's mom hahahahah she was so blunt "You don't have a single muscle on your body!" LOOOOL...
