This was our biggest hint that Mihawk is way more than a mere Warlord, and only uses the title to be left alone by the World Government. That and the fact he refuses to fight Shanks, who is a Yonko, just because he lost an arm.
We always knew he is more than a mere warlord, strongest swordman alive set up as Zoro ultimate goal. Of course this guy is gonna be here to finish the story
The same Yonko that, with one arm, intercepted and pushed back Kaido. Shanks is a monster. That is testament enough of how ridiculously powerful Mihawk is.

haki is something the crew has used pre timeskip but hasnt mastered it yet. Take zoro for example: he gained the ability to cut steel. According to hyogoro in wano, he said that they can cut steel but not paper if he so desires (with haki). And remember, that is the same thing that his sensei told him, its more of the object's breathing. Also zoro, he dodged the falling things and sensed that there is a spot where nothing will land on. thats two haki types in 1 episode, armament and observation.

So, even if he said he won't held back, he of course still held back his power. We haven't seen him used named technique so far, and we all know swordsman in one piece tends to use named attack when they are fighting at full power.

I'd say that current luffy is low emperor level while Mihawk is a top tier emperor level. He's the pinnacle of all swordsman, including Shanks himself.

@@louistate3774 Mihawk's on the likes of Kaido and Primebeard. Only 3 people in One Piece world has the title of the world's strongest. Kaido fought everyone while lifting an island, also killing Luffy in the process.
Luffy did beat Kaido, but Kaido fought a whole ass gauntlet, it took Luffy 3 tries to beat Kaido who is fighting non-stop.
I'd say that current luffy is low emperor level while Mihawk is a top tier emperor level. He's the pinnacle of all swordsman, including Shanks himself.
I love how at least acknowledged Shanks would not be happy if anything happened to Luffy.

And I know even against Haki, users can use their power but in this scene, Mihawk cut buggy and he didn't separate his body himself. That's why if Mihawk have used his Haki buggy would be dead. And the point of introducing Haki was so that it can be used against Devil fruit user
@@vaidikkhatri517 Haki doesn't nullify devil fruit powers. A haki infused blade is still just a blade that cuts, and Buggy's devil fruit is immune to that.

1:08 yea Luffy already knew Ryou and "the flow" so he anticipated what Mihawk would do, and mihawk even GZ him on that and THEN procedes to not take it serious as he got curious realy how much luffy could grow himself. Mihawk is first and formost a swordman, why kill the weak? He could be FINALY a foe that could 1v1 him properly again as he decided for his kredo not to face shanks anymore.
