I think the problem for systems like the Neo Geo and CPS Changer is cost. While I don't know the cost of the games for the CPS Changer, people generally couldn't afford the Neo Geo cartridges, which could cost £100s . Even if they could, spending that much on one game is hard to justify unless you are a collector.
I wonder how different the CPS changer games actually are from the arcade version. Because the Neo Geo arcade hardware uses detachable cartridges but the original CPS was always designed for everything to be soldered into the board so I wonder if that's why sometimes there had to be compromises for the changer system
Saw a bandai bax version in the bandai/namco offices about a month ago when we were shooting a documentary thats upcoming on netflix. Didnt think to ask hiw many were made sorry
I never really got a lot of arcade time. We didn't have one where I grew up. The nearest one was over four hours away. So I never really got the "arcade experience". All I had was home consoles until I was 15 and my family got a PC. This would have been about 1995, so SNES land.
@@TheLairdsLair I was listening with BT headphones connected to my phone. I'm home now and although the volume on the PC is acceptable if you compare it to other videos the difference is obvious. There are only eleven other comments and most people aren't as much as an arsehole as I am and wouldn't take the time to mention it...
The Astrocade is such a cool console, and it has a really neat demo called "Astrocademo". The music is superb!

Looks like with the Nichibutsu console it's optimised for Mahjong and not much else.
