- Welcome to part 3 of our interview with Chris Palmer!
In this episode, we chat to Chris about his ownership experience one of the very first Zondas from Pagani...
Chris Palmer has owned most, if not all of the greatest cars from the 80s, 90s and 2000s including two McLaren F1s, multiple F40s including an F40 LM, Pagani Zonda S and road legal Porsche 962 to name just a few.
He owned these cars in period when they weren't quite as priceless as they are now and used and drove them all as intended.
In this 4 part mini-series, we sit down with Chris, wind the clock back and find out what it was like to own these legendary cars and dig deep into some of his most fond memories.

The list of cars he's owned is absolutely mind boggling. He's certainly lived the dream 👍
Mind boggling indeed
How did he accumulate his wealth?
@@giorgiobassan I haven't got a clue.
Haven't found anything either
Funny though rich people don't care as much as you think. They can own anything so it doesn't mean as much thats why they can easily sell cars and not care . I promise he is not emotionally involved in any car he would sell anything for the right price.
Can't get enough of this. One of the best series on RUclips for ages. Looking forward to part 4
Why thank you 🙌🙌
The new scottish owner reference makes sense. I think around 7 or 8 years ago, I’m guessing from memory, I seen this car parked around the corner from my house in Edinburgh. I spent a good 15 minutes hovering around it. Stunning
That might of been the Zonda GJ that used to park in Edinburgh new town. I saw it there: “The Zonda GJ was commissioned by a Scottish entrepreneur Gareth Jones whose Zonda S heavily crashed in 2009. The car originally had a silver exterior colour. He decided to get the car modified to a special edition exclusively made for him after the crash. The car was upgraded in both looks and performance, such as the addition of design elements from the Zonda F and Cinque along with a matte carbon exterior finish with red accents. The engine was upgraded to the specifications of the Zonda F Clubsport. The car was crashed again in 2017 and then sold to a Japanese owner who converted it to a 760 series car called the OLIVER Evolution.”
Chris has been living the life, love hearing his stories. Some great content.
He truly has! Fascinating insight
Whens next part going on???
This particular story makes you remember that petrolheads always remain petrolheads even after being successful. Horacio doing all that to his clients is absolutely amazing
Every time I see a recommended video of this guy it's literally owning the first road legal McLaren F1, owning the first Ferrari Enzo signed by Enzo Ferrari's son, owning the first Bugatti EB110 signed by the whole team of Bugatti. This man right here is a legend still among us and that's pretty awesome.
Who is chris palmer? What did he do? What is his business? Im trying to learn more about him this guy is impressive
Coming in part 4 , the best car I’ve driven on a racing simulator, superior to anything else
😂
Love this guy. Wouldn’t seem out of place eating a £7.50 sausage & mash in Wetherspoons, but can also fit in perfectly well discussing Pagani ownership. Such a calm, well spoken chap.
It costs that much???
His description of the Zonda with the Faberge egg is perfect.
And nice to learn the person I was following online from a few years has his Zonda.
Very interesting just watched all 3 hope to see more
1 more on the way! 3rd Jan 👀
I’m hoping for a couple hundred parts.
👀😂
Great Series! He verified what i had always imagined the Zonda to be, one of the greatest driving experiences of all time!
I could honestly sit and listen to Chris chat shit about cars for hours. What a class act. Looking forward to part 4 and his current collection. 👏👏
🙌🙌 thanks for tuning in
These videos are great!!! Chris tells the stories in such a captivating way! What a life!!!

Thanks for tuning in! Loved doing this interview 🙌
Fantastic series and such an interesting guy. Would like to see him walk around his current collection and hear some stories
This guy is salt of the earth, owned some of the most special cars in history and knows how to enjoy them. A great yarn as always!
Brilliant , today the true passion for car is often confused with "how much it is worth" rather than how much does it make me smile and how many great memories the car has given me.
All about the memories
Jon Hui is a collector in HongKong, owns a bunch of modern paganis ...
That’s him
Nice to know Pagani is made up of genuinely nice people:)
These are really enjoyable, top bloke, great interview
Glad you’re enjoying them!
Really really enjoyable... can’t wait for Part 4. 👌
Pleased to hear it!
This series is incredible. Please please please cover the Carrara GT and 962.

What a guy such a living legend...
Amazing and what quality!
So much more than the other channels.....
"My mates bought a........"
Bravo 👏
Thanks Pete 🙌🙌🙌
Not many owners like this guy around any more .
Not many at all! A different breed
Agree with Chris's comments about the rear of the Zonda. If only they had done a more conventional exhaust arrangement. Still an amazing machine through 👍
Love this series
🙌🙌
My fav car for 20yrs. Thats the dream. What a lucky guy.
He’s the GOAT 🙌
This guy is a legend!
Great way to start the New Year :D
HNY 🙌
Wow this guys amazing 👏 a true automotive genius!!
Isn’t he just?!
this dude is the luckiest man in the world to own all these cars!
And he's very greatful as you can hear, well deserve fortune and expertice, I bet he's a hell of a driver
🙌🙌🙌
Really good content what a cool history of cars
🙌🏼 thanks for watching
About 18 years ago the one registered s12 PAG followed us on to the euro tunnel on our way to lemans. Couldn’t believe it. Saw it later in the centre of Lemans.
That’ll be Chris!
this guy is a legend
Looking forward to see the Interview on the Carrera GT (which I‘m certain will happen 😁) and the one on the F50 (which I very much hope will happen)
Porsche episode out now!
Wonderful series. Be interested to hear why he’s sold some of these cars?
It sounds like to buy other ones
Who is Chris Palmer and what's his background? Absolutely loving this content such an interesting guy with so many good stories can't wait for the next one! Cheers
1 more to come!
What an awesome guy !
🙌🙌🙌
Man this gentlemen has owned some of the most epic cars in history. I bet that he didn’t pay anywhere near what some of those cars cost today back then which is a good thing 🙂
Yeah exactly!
Great storytelling. I wonder if all the owners of cars like this are as articulate...
Chris, the name of the company in Scotland that owned it is called Rio Prestige 👍
Great video.
Thank you!
Most epic car of our era...
Great story 👍👍
Thanks for tuning in 🙌
One Sunday morning I was traversing Tinsley viaduct and got alongside Chris in that Zonda, I know it was him because his name was on the door 😂 What a noise that thing made.
Wow awesome! Imagine
People that say a car handles like a kart have obviously never had their ribs broken in one during cornering.
What a truly fantastic automotive story this mans life has been. It's strange, a customer of mine had a Testarossa and we happened to meet at Costco in Glasgow one day and I finally got to see the car, I have to say I thought it was a kit car at first , the build quality was appalling. I have relatives from Sheffield and Chris's accent is identical.
He's from Barnsley but similar
Blokes a legend. Love his personality. Not stuck up like the fake rich blokes
Yep a proper guy
Can he talk about the W210 E55 AMG in his photos ;)
What a bloke Chris Palmer is
🙌🙌🙌
Love he’s a northerner proper Yorkshire lad
I would love to hear Chris's opinion of that CGT over his right shoulder.
Watch the next video 🙌
This guy is always buying the right cars at the best times, and selling them at the worst times.
He bought them to drive, that’s all and it shows 🙌
@@scd right. But he sold them. If they're going to be sold regardless, you can't honestly tell me that it doesn't suck losing out on many tens of millions of dollars in the process.
Epic🥝
This guy's a fucking character.
It would be amazing if you guys could get Lonman on here to talk about his 996 GT2!
That would be cool! Wonder where he is now?!
I think Benny Caiolla had the first zonda ever made
That looks very similar to the car that spent years in South Africa. It was recently purchased by an overseas owner and built into the Zonda Venti.
It’s not that car as it’s been kept standard
Yeah I figured. Lovely car though
@@scd I thought it might have had something to do with Harry Metcalfe's old Zonda but it seems they're different cars as well.
Venti is also owned by Jon hui. Same guy mentioned. By Chris here in the video. The guy has like atleast 3 zondas I can remember off the top of my head
@@LiGHTA77 damn thats crazy
Is there a part coming about the Porsche GT in the background ?
Maybe…. 👀👀
@@scd I'll look forward to it then lol
is there an article on how Chris Palmer made his fortune?
Am guessing Palma racetrack in Bedfordshire is something to do with him.
No
Ye ive been trying to find out how he got so rich
@@bad-bunnyblogger8171 LOL
PalmerSport in Bedfordshire, was set up by Jonathan Palmer! (minor F1 driver, and father to very minor racer Jolyon)
@@rych7852 Cool.
nothing like a Zonda..
I've been in that car at knockhill when it was 32P ...what a guy can't believe it was same car 😎
Wow! Bet that was a bit special??
@@scd was a charity track day a friend organised and I've a photo somewhere with it and his atom one side and another friends 360 the other .....what a day it was 👍
Humble enough for Kirkland water. 😁
wow
Great video! Do you have an English version?
😅😂
I wonder why he does not have a big collection now like for example andy74b?… he kept the cars for a while and sold them.
Think he wanted cars he would enjoy and use regularly rather than having loads
Does anyone know if Chris palmer still has social media? I’d like to see more of him and his collection
He has Instagram! @mrbridger1 🙂
@@scd great thanks! I’ll definitley check him out
Is he the wild life film maker?!
Rio prestige had did they not mind seeing it at Knockhill years ago
The pagani cars are a supercar to the ingth degree.
I’ve tried googling Chris Palmer but still have no idea who he is.
Very interesting interview and he seems to be a top bloke, I just can't work out who he is.
Wondering myself haha
@@jdyloscarros9679 his instagram states "i like to think of myself as a self made man, but my parents disagree" :D
so whatever he or his family does is a bit under the radar and not that easy to find
When’s part 4?!
3rd Jan
Where was this filmed? He's drinking a Kirkland brand water so I'm guessing in the USA?
Ye know, I was never mad about Zonda, I was a bit mehhhh about it.
Huayra though. Top of the list when I win Euromillions.
I'd say the exact opposite ! Everyone has his thing i guess
Only seen one at Donnington and I suspect it may have been him at a Ferrari day
Quite possibly 🙌
Gotta keep this series going 'til April 1st just so you can put out a video with Chris talking about a '99 Camry he picked up for £100 with 250,000 miles on it
the fleet of cars he’s owned is easily in the $100 mil range as far as value . i wonder if it matches Ralph Lauren’s collection 🧐
no, i think ralph laurens is way above his there might be a few who would keep up with Ralph like the M.K.A.R collection from the UAE, but there are for sure a few secrets collections who probably would top that
@@HustlerTrickipedia Jonathan Hui's collection is easily more valuable than Ralph Lauren's. Its just astonishing, and he supposedly drives his cars regularly.
Im now curious.. How did Chris Palmer make his money?
These started at $1M, like the Bugatti, quickly went to $3M+ like the Bugatti, with minor tweaks here and there, once they saw how easy it is, to triple price and customers did not blink...... 😛😛😛😛😛
Who did he say has the car now?
Said they guys has a nice collection, wanna see it, please share the name or link
Not sure the owners page is still live
@@scd what's the name of the guy, again?
i wonder if he's getting a T.50
Who knows 👀
And all with no regrets as to the value of those he has sold…Just what would the value of the cars that he’s owned and sold be at today’s prices?
7:36 who's he talking about?
koenigsegg???
