@@collidepress No. Not really. But maybe I'll think of someone. I have a painting from 1956 signed by an artist named Larsen. It was described to me as a painting of the "first gay bar in San Francisco." I have no idea if that is true or not, but I've tried for a few years to find out something about the painting and artist. Ring any bells?
Thank you once again for a lovely collection. I am appreciative of the variety and inclusiveness and your acknowledgement that there are so many flavors beyond vanilla.
Awww shucks. The human "race" is beautiful because of its diversity in my book. I may have grown up in a predominately white world, but I'm not blind...beauty is in every shade, shape, and size. Speaking of which, I need to show fellow big guys some love. :-)
Aside from being, in themselves, gorgeous, dazzling and every other superlative, the Collide Press videos are also enlightening and educational. I can easily spend a week with any of them, researching the names of not only the subjects in the photos or paintings, but also the artists who created them. The stories that emerge about these people are as varied as for any (sub, repressed) culture, and reflect the sheer determination to survive and often thrive during the long era of persecution aimed at LGBTQ+ people (regrettably, still in progress). So. many. people. During my youth, I had known of a few, and there were whispers and innuendos about others, but the fairly recent deluge of documentation that has been emerging, enabled by the Web, social media (RUclips, FB, etc.) has been like watching gardens bloom in the parched desert. (Forgive me for waxing poetic - this topic makes me emotional.) The quality of the Collide Press productions is incredible, excellent referencing and paired with perfectly curated - and credited - soundtracks (which also, btw are an education in themselves). All this verbosity to say a heartfelt THANK YOU! 💚 💛 🧡 🤎 ❤ 💗 💜 💙 🖤
Your lovely words have left me speechless. I'm touched (literally) beyond words. Thank you. Our collective stories have lived in the shadows and buried with us for far too long. I hope some of what I'm doing will touch a few people who will share it with others that might understand the quiet, not too loud message: Love is love. Always was. Always will be. 🌈❤️✌️
My elementary school art teacher spoke disparagingly of the greaser pompador look with the big curl hanging down in front of the forehead. Little did she know that the Beatle long hair look was just around the corner.
Wow, looks like my new crush is gonna be that Cody Christian. I think I might get a bigger ice cream to lick whilst watching this new montage. Cheers again.
@@collidepress No its ok, don't worry I've had me shots. Thats why I'm watching all these montages cause yes you are right. Were right, bang, smack in the middle of the winter and all these beautiful montages are keeping me nice and toastie at night. Cheers.

Those are awesome photos, paintings, and sketches. Beautiful music, too. Thank you.
Thanks, RJ. Any artists come to mind that might need a deep dive? Preferably late 1800s, early 1900s. Or earlier. :-)

@@collidepress How about William Bruce Ellis Ranken?
No bells here. I always thought “the glass coffin” in SF was its oldest bar. My history of the area is baaaaad.
Hmmmm. I’ll look tomorrow and see if I get any hits.
Who else is loving Lou Ferrigno Jr's role on 911 this season?
Cheers from Down Under.

But those pompadours are so sculptural. Bless her mess. And lack of foresight. lol

Be careful with all that ice cream. Isn't it WINTER Down Under? Don't want ya to catch a cold. :-p
