      What I love about is that he isn't afraid to hold stars accountable. One thing is sure that he would put an end to hero ball , very quickly.

    Need a hire now, now, NOW. Renard and Christiansen are obviously FAR greater choices than the rest on the list. Hopefully aggressive offers are going out to each of them. I heard Renard had interest previously and a 'lucrative' offer was presented by Canada Soccer that he turned down. Sure hope we're doing everything possible to get him to jump on over.... And surely it's more appealing to Christiansen to take Canada to the Copa America than Panama, who he's done everything he can with - especially since the chance to take Canada to '26 is on the table, too. Come on! Let's see one of 'em come in for May 1st!

    • @djknox2
      @djknox2 23 дня назад +1

      Couldn't agree more. But with the financial problems the CSA has, I think those offers need to be creative. I'm thinking some kind of revenue sharing with the new manager based on success for example (on top of a base salary naturally).

    • @greglawrence9230

      @@djknox2 As you've said before, it can't all be about the money here. The chance to take this group of talent to a Copa America and then host a WC is a fantastic opportunity for a coach. And also as you've said, Blue just needs to be creative with the profit sharing. No reason a deal shouldn't happen. Maybe Renard is too invested and in and at home with the French women to be lured away but I can't see Christiansen sticking with Panama if he has the chance to head Canada - surely not!

    • @djknox2
      @djknox2 23 дня назад

      @@greglawrence9230 You would think so. I mean this is a big opportunity for a Manager to make some waves. The team has sufficient talent to do that in my judgement but only if they learn to play in a more disciplined way. So yes one would think wealthy managers don't need a big salary when there's legacy to curate. BUT, the world has become a selfish place and so will a top manager bite? We will see. I only hope Blue can live up to your expectations. I remain more skeptical until something tangible is produced. Matches with Holland and France however is a BIG improvement. Just think about how poorly things were managed in the lead up to Qatar!

    • @greglawrence9230
      @greglawrence9230 22 дня назад +1

      @@djknox2 The issue perhaps is whether the corruption runs deeper than Blue can overturn enough to allot profit share the way he needs to. Cause let's be real, without knowing the details of all that really goes on, that's very likely what the real issue is.

    • @greglawrence9230
      @greglawrence9230 15 дней назад

      @@ventorro8055 I fully understand what you mean. And yet, it's hard to see Canada successfully elevating their game without adopting disciplined tactics. But also, such tactics are only boring if you don't have precision finishing (like Qatar or Trinidad). But when you have scoring talent like Canada enjoys, sitting in a disciplined defensive block and hitting on counter selectively can be very exciting, especially if you're scoring against a far better team. Getting 25 shots on an opponent only to have them score on one of their few chances and beat you (Belgium) is not my idea of excitement. Being embarrassed by a disciplined team that takes advantage of our irresponsibly open style of play is something I'd prefer to avoid at the Copa America and WC. Disciplined play can be boring but it doesn't have to be, and I want to see Canada compete at the highest level of the game.

      My hope is that they (Kevin Blue) expect to have a new coach hire in place and will need these matches to practice tactics against far superior teams. Canada knows how to play against CONCACAF teams. The trick will be how to get through these two games and Argentina without burning players out (like Eustaquio blew himself out at the WC) before getting to the matches where we need results (Chile and Peru).
