Mattering where you are, join a rail museum and help out on rebuilding track. I may see what I can do on joining a class three short line. In the future but I want to get off the ground first.
There is something glorious at this farm, where sheep are happy to be on a lead, frogs are given a hand up to be re-homed and geese chat with each other about rail tracks being in the way, whilst off to inspect a field of elephant garlic. Seems like Eden was moved over to Ireland and the Tree of Life replanted.
I'm very happy to see, that your Railway Project is rolling along. I'm surprised the track is being moved and a "Beware of the Trains" sign is there. It's wonderful how far you all have come with this little line. I'm actually impressed. Fantastic job!
Dear Danish TTTES 👍👌👏 Very well said, very well indeed. I wanted to comment similar but fortunately you already did all the writing work. 😁 ;-) Best regards, luck and health in particular.
(edit) I'm referring to the making of a rail crossing on the southwest side of the dry shed seen on Tim's track layout maps in past videos. A turntable there would have also worked while allowing to turn around wagons, but would have resulted in digging up a lot of soil for a foundation in a tight space between a fence and another set of rails. if there is a need for a turntable for the railway in the future it can be assembled on the other side of the hopper-shoot so the foundation can be a pile of spare bricks with the whole mechanism that the (mostly made of wood) table spins on is accessible to repair.
Fantastic job on the sign. That crossing plank is not going to clear your flanges I don't think without some trimming on the flange ways. Also you need to put ramps on the outside of the rails with board or more stone to make it easier for the Geese to cross! LOL
We are watching in Northern Ireland in Warron Point. We just love both Ireland 🇮🇪 and Irelands We just love watching you Tim .Would be nice to hear from Sandra to see what she’s up to as well.🎼👀👀🤩😝🥰🥰🥰
Nice one bro, yeah there's that someone again messing things up. Somebody and someone must be related as they both seem to cause issues, them being invisible makes getting them go and stand in the corner quite a chore . Enjoyed the video too. Safe travels
For the crossing perhaps one could add a sort of inner-rail with a certain spacing and fill the space between the inner rails with dirt or something to give a more even and/or bigger area on which animals and humans can walk over. And to save on materials the inner-rails could be made from plywood instead of steel, though they probably wouldnt last long if that crossing has a lot of traffic. Hmm.. The secondary idea behind it is that the flanges of the wheels don't hit the piece of wood you put in there and possibly derail the train/cart
Very cool! ❤ The geese were checking out your train track and I hope making complimentary comments about it.🐑🐕🦢🐎❤ Watch for trains!🚂 Thanks for sharing. ❤
In real railways the rail isnt directly attatched to the sleepers, its just held in by friction. To save having to re drill sections when they are curved and to make manufacture easily you could try to emulate that in the design. I was thinking of a wooden block with a slit just bigger than the width of the rail in it. Provided it is short enough to clear the flandge of the wheel and of a dense enough wood so it doesnt split. It could also be designed so it has wooden wedges (keys) that clamp the rail tight in the slot so it cant move.
If you spread bags of water-softener salt into your ballast rocks, it won't be long before your weed problems disappear. Very environmental and animal safe.
I would like to see that too, but realist that I am I looked at some prices for 15" steam locos and I'm afraid they come at a high price. Not to mention that a 15" steam loco, even a small one would weigh quite a bit. And if made from scratch it's a project of many years. I suspect we're going to have to settle for a diesel mounted on a flat with some sort of chain drive. Or maybe even battery and electric motor? Maybe leave the chain driven truck/bogie fixed and if there is a second truck, let the second truck turn? Three axles with blind drivers in the middle? Let us hope that there will be an air compressor hooked up to a multi-chime whistle. However, I once read a science fiction story about a steam engine made almost entirely of wood, save the boiler, I think they used leather hoses. I assume the boiler pressure was quite low. Probably less time to machine the wood. Maybe use sheet metal for bearing surfaces?
Having an argument about how to negotiate that level crossing could be classed as a-track-tif😅 Looks like you needed a machete to see-nettle that track, not a fickle sickle, brave men indeed!
Im not up do date with your wagons but what about transfering wheelbarrow wagon to sturdy universal flatbet? One wagon for for multiple purpose. Also you can use your conveyor belt to load dirt into wagons.
A mattock locating ChatGPT is about as useful (useless) as GIGO, however Sir Arthur Percival Heywood would be very appreciative of your 15" gauge efforts. Finest kind.
You know you are getting a little too big you may be looking for a small Plymouth locomotive to run mite pick one up over there may be from old mine or industrial center I like your work
I'm kinda disappointed in this one. I get it gets the job done, but I thought you will make a nice slope and kinda embedd the rails in the ground. Still, can't wait for the next video - especially about a wooden car!
Off Beat but Sign Writers should consider. A warning like "Beware of Dog" in Legal terms you acknowledge the danger of a dog and if anything happens on your property concerning a dog someone can sue you - so Beware of the Trains ... What about a sign that reads "If you're concerned about being run down by a train on this property, We Do Toot seconds before - - - For Deaf Visitors we do Rumble" - As a Lawyer I'm having some real issues finding a case against you - I mean Deaf people feel through their feet right - so no problem with my sign - where as your sign is beginning to look like "We Got Ya"
I asked ChatGPT several times to help spread and level the topsoil I had delivered recently, and it never lifted a shovel. New technology, I tell ya!
Never trust it. Didnt help me with the shopping.
I like it, this kinda makes me want to buy a farm and build a railway.
I watch these videos just so I can dream of doing that
Mattering where you are, join a rail museum and help out on rebuilding track. I may see what I can do on joining a class three short line. In the future but I want to get off the ground first.
you don't need a farm to make a railway
@@denki-kaminari2 Yep, model railway. Only thing that sucks is my HO gauge is too small to catch a lift.
I’m gonna do something even better I’m gonna make a standard gauge railway museum and if the government allows I will turn it into a railway

I think I've identified the next type of railway car you need to make- a railway weed-whacker!
Your railway project is exactly what I want to see on RUclips. Keep up the good work!
I thought that was a metal sign very impressive WOW 😲
Beautifully made sign. And the portable “drill press” fixture for the cordless drill is genius. Well done!
Gated level crossings are one of my favourite bits of railway architecture after lower quadrant signals so this video has made me very happy Tim lol.

Sheer joy on a wet and windy evening in the Ardèche !
Don’t know what those geese were saying, but it didn’t sound very complimentary 😂
I love that instead of bells or klaxons at the crossing, you have installed something that goes "Bleat, Bleat", very Irish.
I can’t believe you have to do this massive project in four weeks
As it happens my mattock has mysteriously disappeared!! Keep up the good work gents, good stuff. Best from New Forest.
I might build my own little railway in the future - This whole project has been very inspiring!
Thank you!
If you want a railway built in the British Isles then get the Irish Navvies in!
This one's in Ireland not Britain.
@@gordanmilne7034 I didn't say 'Britain'. I said 'The British Isles' which includes Ireland, idiot!

love to see your side drilling jig still doing the job.
You aught to adopt that frog as the railway mascot!
Tim, you owe me a mouthful of tea. I simply couldn't hold on to it when you commented on chat GPT's shortcomings.
Now you'll need a whistle on Tornado the Locomotive to blow at the crossing
Make them longer Tim !!! Please I Like this channel and want to see more !! Thanks
Tim you are my favourite thing on the entire Internet 👍
It's so wonderfully relaxing to watch these videos. Can't wait for the next one!
Glad to see the railway Back on track!
Particularly delightful video, thanks! I very much enjoyed the shots of the "traffic".
Your craftsmanship is exceptional!
Oh, lovely as ever to watch. Like a smoothing cream for the brain.

This is so much fun to watch!
Seriously good tv. :)
Wow! A sign too! Impressed.
Starting at about 05:13 in this video:
Those two were _"taking a gander"_ at your handiwork...😉

Ilike that drill pusher!
Love to see how your industrialising your farm
Loving the railway and the expansion plans you have for it.

I explored all that in the beginning - but if you can make something that works I'd be very interested to see it
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 Did some drawings and emailed them to you, Hope they help
"Asking chat GBT" made me laugh out loud on the train home! 4ft 8 and a half inch gauge this one...
You need a rail mower to run along the lines and cut back unwanted growth
Love the sign, better to be safe than sorry, can't have anyone writing in and complaining about the lack of Elf and Safety. 🤣😂🤣
I like the railway project soo much
Very well done!
The ducks walking over the railway is priceless!
geese!
@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 I should have 'Geesed' that correctly! Perhaps i need an 'InDUCKtion' into bird species!
7:58 you are gonna connect the railways
Now you need the bells and the lights.
Great video - nice to see more progress. :)
I wanna build a rail system like yours for our launch complex! 😱😁👍👍🇺🇲

@@wayoutwest-workshopstuff6299 You want it to soak into the ground. That will inhibit the weeds
Ive watched your Videos the whole day
Well now you need a whistle or bell to warm traffic of your approach
Brilliant, really enjoying the railway series 👍
I wonder if you could take the cutter bar off the Allen scythe and use it to "push" your rail trucks along the track ?
Sadly it's a very different gauge : - (
Thanks Tim
Brilliant - I can't wait to see a small steam loco assisting on your farm.

Looks like you needed a machete to see-nettle that track, not a fickle sickle, brave men indeed!
Looking good
When I saw you carving the wood, I thought it was a pattern so you can make a sand mould and cast iron into it
Iron is so very hard to melt... But yes maybe he could do bronze or aluminium one day
I'd love to try casting - but just too busy : - (
Needs a Weed-eater ( Whipper-Snipper) and a trash blower to clear the track.
MORE RAILWAY STUFF YAY
When Tim was making the sign and said he had to tidy the edges, anyone else thought Tim was impersonating a train with his chisel?
5:08
Would you take a gander at THAT!!!
As an IT professional I appreciate the ChatGPT joke 😂😂😂
The wee Irish railway with engineer Tim
You need 10,000 Chinese coolies to assist you in track laying for the summer. You also get tasty Chinese food out of the deal.
Your crossing passed the geese inspection, or were they just having a gander?
Im not up do date with your wagons but what about transfering wheelbarrow wagon to sturdy universal flatbet? One wagon for for multiple purpose. Also you can use your conveyor belt to load dirt into wagons.
👍👍👍
Keep of the good work
A goose approved level crossing, nice work 😁
If ChatGPT can't do something as simple as locate your mattock I don't know what the point of it is!
Хочу больше рельсов, больше поездов 😊
It finally dawned on me... it's as if E.B. White published videos rather than print essays (see "One Man's Meat") and just as exceptional.
But the geese and sheep crossing the railroad reminded me of Beatrix Potter.
Aren't the rails a bit too thin though? Won't they bend outwards after lots of use?
nope!
The chatGPT joke got me laughing fr

man, the cliffhanger
It was geese approved, so I think you’re in good shape…
i was going to suggest this but it seems you completed it before i could suggest it!
Question what happened to tornado?
The success of this project will determine how or if i can cross the highway splitting my property in two. 😅
Didn’t know that a mattock was called a mattock. Had one for years and knew it wasn’t a deformed pickaxe, there you go 🙂
Huh. It really is just massive Flexi-Track.
Lol at the chatGPT comment :D
At 1.11min: This is maybe the bluntest sickle I ever saw! 😁 ;-) 👅😜😇😘
That frog was very cute, but you shouldn't really handle them. The oil from your skin can cause them to dry out and lead to skin problems
I wonder how many of the animals are going to read and take notice, I don't think geese were very impressed
lol. Asking chatgpt where some missing equipment is. if only that worked.
