Once more I'm impressed with your commentary AND videography! And I half expected one of the head-end crew to lean out of the window and holler, "Yo, Jeremy!" Thanks again for the wonderful work.
HI T REX: ONCE AGAIN TNX FOR SENDING THIS TO ME. I HAVE BEEN TO GILLIAM CO OREGON & KNOW HOW ISOLATED & DESOLTE IT IS. HOWEVER HAS ITS OWN KIND OF BEAUTY . JOE W DAVIS.
Great vid as always, but an ignoble job for a train. Didn't know Seattle dumped their garbage in Oregon. In 93 I had a sales route that included rural central Oregon. With time to kill one afternoon I drove out to Condon. Just in time to see the stacks of railroad ties from the removal of that line.
@@pacificrailproductions5281 Thats the same reason the neslon bennet tunnel in Ruston WA is single tracked. It always causes backups so bad soundtransit buillt a whole new rail line to save amtrak cascades.
When the first rails were laid in the early 1880s by the Oregon-Washington Railroad and Navigation Company, they were only a few feet above the river level and had sharper curves and narrow tunnels. Over time as floods, landslides and just the general increase in weight and size of locomotives and cars caused UP to straighten and realign the route by putting down heavier rail, eliminating sharp curves and building stronger bridges and wider tunnels. The track was also raised so the risk of flooding was reduced.
Fun ! Not, but someone has to do it ..Waved @ UP south @ Crescent day before yesterday ! they honked beside the Standard summit Horn .Then on my way to Sisters, I saw and waved at BNSF S.
Great video! If it can be placed in "layman's language" I would like a video on Distributive Power! A look inside at Waste Management (if they would allow) handling the unloading of the containers/cars would be interesting too! Thanks.
Great video all-around and very informative! Where did you park for that tunnel shot? Shoulder of I-84? I've been looking there on Google Maps for my own trip out there next summer and that's the best I can figure.
Absolutely love the video! Keep up the great work! I am working on making a model of UP’s SEGL and GLSE. Proving very hard to find HO scale containers that look right. Do you know the lengths of the containers?
That is great to hear! I wondered what it would take to model one of these trains too. Not sure if they’re 48’, 53’ but thinking something in that range. Once the correct length container is found it shouldn’t be hard though. Spray paint green or gray and cover the top with a tarp. A few added details and it’s done! Singles on articulated cars and doubles on single wells…voila!
@@pacificrailproductions5281 thanks do the info! I found some 3d printed containers on eBay 9 for 25 bucks, just got some paint. Have you ever seen foreign power on the garbage route?
Enjoy your videos! You have a great speaking voice. Have you ever considered voice over work? My guess is you are an engineer. How often do you operate the same locomotives? And do you have a favorite locomotive? With all the foreign power, do railroads have proprietary software? If so, how do they implement that in foreign power? Keep up the great work!!
@@pacificrailproductions5281 I'm was just wondering if the UP uses different software to run their locomotives or handle communications, than say CP? Or BNSF? Or are all railroads using the same stuff? Just watched your newest production. Great Content!! Look forward to more!
@@tomv99 I see. Now, at least on most engines we see on our territory, they are able to use the same program (PTC) but not EMS (energy management system)
The BNSF trash trains from the Puget Sound area run to Roosevelt, WA. Roosevelt is located just north of the Columbia River in the same general region.
It’s the only reasonable way to transport thousands of tons of trash a long distance affordably. In the northwest, this has been a practice that works to take trash to a processing area far from the inner city.
Disappointed that the United States is such a Disposable Nation. We Buy a Lot of Cheap Junk from Overseas and it’s Easier/Cheaper to Dispose of, than Repair. 🤪👎
Your videos are really first class both in content and videography. Thanks for posting them.
Thank you Roy; I appreciate that! It’s a pleasure
Another winner! Thank you for your hard work.
Great Jeremy and some great information I didn't know before!
Hey Dan, thanks buddy!
Those old photos you included were very neat to see!
Very cool video. Interesting to see a branch with that much activity.
Arlington and that entire area is a great place to live. Nice train action by a first class company...U.P......thanks for video.

Just awesome video Jeremy. You never disappoint
Thanks a lot! Also for the PSAP info. I didn’t realize they ran there too!

excellent videos - ive referred this one to the Chehalis railfan camera group to show where our garbage loads go!!
Thank you!
I always enjoy your videos. Thanks.
I filmed the O-GLSE 25 in Tacoma the next day. Cool to see where it originated

most excellent!
4:42 How come this tunnel built in 1922 is just the right height for plate H? Double stack did not exist back then.
Might have been made for double tracks: it’s pretty wide! In any case, it was built very well

The Seattle trains are daily. But there's also a few trains that come off the PSAP once or twice a week 😊

Thanks! In addition to the shoulder is a pull out area off the road. Just dirt. It’s good enough. Hope your trip is fun!
