    Specimen carp fishing tactics honed on vast, low stocked pits aren't really a competitor against match fishing tactics on puddles filled with fish and the same is true on the reverse. At the end of the day it's not a competition, it's horses for courses and we should just try to learn from one another so we can all enjoy the elements of the sport we enjoy.

      I fished lake 1 I think back in May, carp fished it and lost a Skimmer early on then had nothing all day until I switched to a 4ft zig and caught a 4lb Carp within seconds of casting out, didn't even put the rod down I just felt the rod pulling. After that nothing, and I fished it once last summer and blanked (carping again) there seems to be a good number of carp less than 10lb, I've had much better sessions on lakes 2 and 4 where I've caught a number of doubles.

    Very good video. I think it would have been interesting to see a group of match anglers vs a group of Carp lads over a few days and see how the results played out. Overall though another great watch keep up the excellent work. 👍🏼

    Excellent video 🎣👍 . I wish some of the tackle shops sell Dynamite baits here in B.C 🇨🇦. As I'm getting down really low, I have to have my parents. Back in England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿, to ship me boilies, pellets, ground bait mixs. Frigging pain in the ARSE ,$$$. As I live in B.C 🇨🇦 now, yer catching Big sturgeon, salmon ,trout. Is okay. Carp fishing is my passion, my p.b here is 22lb. Don't compare to my p.b in England 32.4oz ( Dave's lk ) between Kettering and Corby North Hampshire.

    like Ian said take it to a specimen lake with low stock next time, and see who "wins". You cant even compare the two types of fishing really. , the point of specimen angling is to catch the biggest of the species/lake not the most total weight of small fish...

    The chuck it and chance it bivvy boys always get found out, when they bring their tiger nuts and trouser presses into proper fishing. Real angers don't need a sleeping bag ;)

    • @mrdjr6544
      @mrdjr6544 3 года назад +1

      A long running fallacy surrounding carp fishing is indeed that you just chuck it in and wait. Shame, because those who follow that advice are destined to fail.
      Watercraft and remaining mobile is what catches carp consistently. Which is almost the same way to succeed in match fishing, using watercraft to identify your lines and respond to the water/fish behaviour.
      So whilst many bivvy boys chuck it and hope, that's not how carp fishing is done.

    • @EddiePedalo
      @EddiePedalo 3 года назад +2

      @@mrdjr6544 You are in a very small minority amongst carp anglers my friend, if you understand watercraft. I'd wager that you didn't learn it fishing for carp?

    • @jamsams
      @jamsams 3 года назад

      @@EddiePedalo couldn't have put it better. On every fishery that I've seen specimen anglers their approach has been consistent. Bait, cast and wait. No watercraft on show anywhere.

    • @mrdjr6544
      @mrdjr6544 3 года назад +1

      @@EddiePedalo Learned from watching videos on here. In all my angling books there's only one that really delves deep into it, Tactical Pike Fishing by Mike Ladle. So for the first 25 years I didn't U derstabd water craft. Then RUclips and the Mike Ladle book came about.
      It's tricky though, some of the more appealing waters require you to book a specific peg, which I've done plenty of times only to find myself at the opposite side of the action!
      But without a doubt, match fishermen are experts at seeing things mere mortals do not see. A really good subject I could discuss for hours.

    I spent 3 years as a club fishery manager with a club committee consisting of 50/50 bivvy boys and match anglers. Let me tell you it was hell. It was hell mostly because the average IQ in the room was about 15, so any management plans I put forward were squabbled over like the last chocolate in the box at kindergarten.. The only way to properly manage lakes for these factions is give them their own lakes. Which is impossible in a club

      Its Big carp tactics vs Match tactics. They use one rod or pole at a time in a match and put 100% focus into it to get many smaller fish from high population waters. For big carp its 2-3 rods setup knowing its a long haul for the one big fish from a sparsley populated water. If a match angler has two rods in the water he isnt match angling. Its perfectly fair if you understand how and what the tactics produce within the realms of this challenge.

    Fshing 2 rods unlike andy mays 1 hahahaha ...
    Bivvies divies will sit days for 1 or 2 fish and match anglers will always out catch them . the amount of bait that carp anglers fire out just makes no sense on commercials like this . always makes me laugh when they turn up on commercials for a day session , set up their bivvies , fire out huge boilies with bite alarms for 1 or 2 fish, of course there are times when carp angling is the only way to go but the very fact he had to use 2 rods to even give him a chance says it all , Great video

      Iv seen more damage done to fish with huge hooks and 12lb+ line dragging them in , match fishing takes finesse using small hooks ,thin lines and soft action rods or elastics lot less chance of damaging any fish

    • @yourloveismydrug6537
      @yourloveismydrug6537 2 месяца назад

      Big nets , carp slings ???? the smaller nets have nothing to with damaged fish , thats usually heavy lines and rods and bad angling or barbed hooks . the smaller nets mean the fish cant thrash about while being unhooked , therefore less stress and damage , everday's a school day
