Can not beat using a light rod, with heavier line or braid, 17lb braid or 10lb line Have the best off both worlds. Good rod action, but know the line will not snap when got a 20lb on. Play the fish better because your rod is light and dont want to snap it. Some carp anglers including my friends use 3lb test curv rod with 20lb line or 30lb braid. Bring in up to 24lb carp in 2 minutes, all the time. Its boaring and rips the fishes mouth apart. Unless theres loads off up to 30lb fish. I dont use a rod with a bigger test curv than 1 1/2lb and 17lb braid or 8lb line. Greate video and looked like a good day.

Used to love fishing Barston but its become a profit venue with the Carp been fairly easy to get on, too many budding so called experts bullying in Carp and wrecking the mouths just to get the rod back in for the next chance at a pb. The poor state of some of the Carps mouths I've seen come out recently has put me off the place. Shame. Used to blame match speed tactics but watching some of us carpers bulling in fish to get the rods back out is proving its bad fishing on both sides of the bivvy door.

Used to fish barston great little runs water..... keeping mobile works well, had 15 carp in a day session, 6x20s, the Scar at 32lb 8oz, and the rest mid doubles. Well worth the price of a day ticket. Good video lads 👏👏👏
