      Thanks! We are really excited. The well drilling started last week and they should finish tomorrow!

    YES!! I totally get it. We have a small pond with a slow leak which is incredibly frustrating. I’ve been following you since before the pond. Can’t wait to see this process and your pond finally full. 😊😊😊

      Wow, you have been with me for a while! Thanks! Yea, I always hate to see it start dropping over the summer months. Can't wait to put an end to that! The well is going in this week!

    What a great idea. Our well cap is maybe 20 feet from our pond and it is not used anymore as we have city water now (not sure how as the nearest town is maybe 20 mile away). We bought he house after, so was thinking about getting someone out here to see if we can use this well to feed the pond now. You got me thinking now about solar, so anxious to see how this turns out. Keep us updated.

      Nice! You have the hard/expensive part over with! I will absolutely be documenting this process and letting everyone know how it goes. Sounds like you may need to do the same!

    Can you power the aerator from these panels too? Get that power knocked off your bill.

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  4 месяца назад +1

      I asked RPS that exact question! They do make their own solar powered aerators, so it likely is an option. Just taking it one step at a time for now, but that would be nice. I wouldn't get 24/7 run time though, which I do like having

    @Indy Farm Life. Your pond looks very nice. I seen the video of you and your wife is this on the honey do list 😅 just joking with ya man. It's going to look nice with the pump in. Awesome video thank you for sharing with us. ( Tony) are you going live soon?

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  4 месяца назад +1

      Hey thanks Tony! Yes, I'm slowly chipping away at that list. It was a long one! Can't wait to have this pump in and get it flowing. I'm excited to be working with RPS. Will be a good solution. I definitely want to do another live. I'll see if I can get my wife to join sometime. Life (outside of YT) gets too busy sometimes! Ha

    Will there be a float control to tell the well pump when to turn on and off? Or will you just manage it manually?

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  4 месяца назад +1

      @@DieselMike Yes, we are planning to have a float in place to shut the pump off when full.

    Here in south Florida that would have turned into an algae filled gator hole! The solar pumps were used decades ago here for cattle waterers. If Adam has a shirt with sleeves, it's either cold weather or he's not working.

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  4 месяца назад

      Hahaha, that's funny. Was just talking, so you are right, not working! Sleeves are overrated! Glad we don't have gators around here. Would terrify me with small children. We just have angry bluegill! 😆

      @@IndyFarmLife When you see the Muscovy ducks disappearing you know there's at least one gator in the water! This time of the year people lose their dogs and sometimes kids to the hungry gators so your fears are real!

    16 100W solar panels? that is a lot.

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  4 месяца назад

      Yes, if that's the one we get, that's what it will be. Won't know until the well is finished. It's a lot, but no monthly costs for life will be nice!

      @@IndyFarmLife I would suggest looking into battery generators that can be charged by solar, or a generator, or removed, brought back to the house, and charged by household AC. EcoFlow, and Anker make awesome devices. And would provide your battery back up. 16 panels of any size is very large. I guess my point here is, there are better ways to do things maybe

      I guess "better" would need to be defined. Everyone has their own definition. For me, I want something autonomous. Time is precious. I don't want to have to cart something back and forth. Plus we aren't talking about an insignificant amount of work. 14gpm at 150ft of head takes some power. Any solar generator is going to come up short if it doesn't have enough panels. The proof will be in the pudding, but I'm hopeful this works out well. We did consider the panels and them looking out of place next to the pond, but my wife and I discussed it, and a full pond is worth it. We shall see. Thank you for commenting and sharing your input. May have helped someone. I have learned a lot from viewers like you over the years.

    so why not just get the aerator on solar too

    • @IndyFarmLife
      @IndyFarmLife  3 месяца назад

      Your comment is very timely! My video of installing the panels is going up tomorrow morning, and I talk about that very thing! I have room for more panels. The question would be if daytime aeration is enough. I don't want to cut corners on that.
