The weather has not been cooperating with me to finish my video LOL. It's coming soon... Such a fun day man! Hope we find some monster geodes Friday!!!
Oh yeah, man, I want geodes as big as our heads ... and for our subscribers and fans, Dustin and I have huge heads. we just use camera trickery to shrink them down, LOL
It's definitely a very cool experience!! I've never seen big pieces like them, and you got some great specimen pieces, too. Thank you for taking us along 😃👋
Haha, I have found it before, but never like this..... Now I want to become a lead miner , I hear they have very long life spans cause leads good for you.... Or maybe I'm thinking of something else 🤔🤣🤣
Holy cow! You guys found a literal ton of Galena! Man that's amazing! And thank you for the little piece you sent me! I absolutely love it! Galena was one of the first minerals that I collected! I got a little Galena cube and a quartz point! Those were my very first minerals I ever collected. I was about 4 or 5 I think, when I got them too, and Galena has spiked a life long obsession with rocks! So thank you for that. It made me think of and feel the same awe I felt the first time I ever saw Galena! Thank you Jeff! You are an awesome hunting guide and friend! ❤
@@huntingrocks I haven't done it yet. I've been really sick for the last month and a half. I was recently released from the hospital and I'm still trying to regain my strength back. I had covid twice and the second time, it really did a number on me. Fever of 102 for three days, and I couldn't even get out of bed until my fever broke. I dehydrated myself so bad, I got a kidney infection, and that put me in the hospital for 4 days!
Only time I ever found it was little junky pieces. This was a bucket list check off of minerals I want to find ... of course the big check will 200 pound gold nugget , I won't tell any one but there will be signs I found it 🤣🤣🤣
"Galena contains 86.6% lead by mass. Galena is also a source of silver and often contains arsenic, tin, antimony, and copper." I coppy and pasted that cause it was said better than I could say it LOL. Now I will say that even though it does contain things like arsenic, it is safe to touch just don't eat it or lick it. But really you shouldn't do that with any rock
In Missouri, it's crazy low, sadly nothing like Cerro Gordo . The galena here was better used for making lead, that's not to say it doesn't have silver, it's just secondary commodity value
Donny Bee!
He gave a great talk on that green streaking through the rock
@huntingrocks you guy have all taught me so much!
Thank you, that's why I do it. I like to teach .... and if course find cool minerals
Nicee.... I am 100% going for this when I make it back up there!
Heck yeah when you do I can take you to the exact spot

You are very welcome, I hope to get back before it starts to get cold, that wa6er was already chilly to be sitting in lol
Gallons of rocks mixed with piles of water.
Lots of cool rocks and minerals in that area . I live about 15 miles from there
It's an amazing area of geology I would love to see what's deeper underground
Very cool! Never seen galena in the wild. Now I want some. With crystals. Thanks. 😂

@largent45 Lisa, dang it not cool. I'm glad you're starting to feel better, and no worries, those trilobites aren't going anywhere.
@@huntingrocks I didn't think they would! I have a cat! Lol
Having cats my self ..... they might, my little bags of fur stole my green garnets one time lol
Great finds!! I am HIGHLY interested in finding some galena, especially like those! I have never found galena out in the wild, either.

Sweet score
Haha thank you
Cool!
Thank you
Is galena pure lead? If not, how do they extract the lead from it and make it pure?
