      “We” includes the western corporations and shareholders that perpetuate the cycle of single use plastic trash. I am a graphic designer and I have attended several conferences on packaging technology. Spoiler alert: nobody is even trying. Out of say 1000 packaging companies, maybe 1 is even attempting green. It is virtually impossible to avoid disposable plastic because nobody actually gives a shit about it.

  • @63801170

    if it just goes back to the Guatemala city trash site, where it came from after the rains… then it’s wasted… they need a EPS (polystyrene) processing plant at this point of the river to densify (ie. melt and produce bulk waste sausages for sale to recycling companies). With 50% of the river waste estimated to be expanded polystyrene, they could remove and reprocess for their own (and the planet’s) benefit. The truck haulage they’re doing for the “miles” back to the city (if that’s what’s happening), is further waste with highly “light” (low density) items… even adding a compacting machine at the point of collection would reduce transport costs (but complicates the recycling).

      Trees compensate for the lack of oxygen in the ozone creating hyperoxygenation, which shortens the lifespans of all carbon life, due to rust.
      Some time in 95' we created too many immisions and went over the line of no return.
      The world was dead before I was born, Trees will produce too much, and the socialist who caused this have their children elevated in society, spreading similar lies to their fathers.
      Cleaning up, doesn't solve The world's pollution problem it just gives your citizens peace of mind, or it makes them ignorant because they can't see it.

    A rather cynical question of mine is how sure of the recycling companies are you that they are properly recycling the waste instead of dumping it back into the river?
    Could we get a video detailing the different companies contracted to engage in the recycling/waste removal process and their different processes and what they are doing?
    I find what the Ocean Cleanup is doing is great, but I'd hate to see that it's being undermined by companies looking to greenwash their environmental impact.

    If they use something like an old school dredge but rather than digging the ground, it just uses buckets on the top of the water. Could be pulling out tons of trash in minutes

    Is there any work with the local government to stop the plastic pollution from happening in the first place?

    • @MrMeloff
      @MrMeloff 7 месяцев назад

      Nope, they have no trash system in place so the people get rid of it through whatever means, mostly the river that takes it away from them, they don't care what happens to it after that. Sad, but the 3rd world is the 3rd world for a reason.

      İnsanların hem dünyanın hem de kendilerinin bir yaratıcı tarafından yaratıldığına inanmaları gerekiyor. Ve bu dünyanın, en akıllı yaratık olan insana Allah'ın emaneti olduğunu bilmeleri gerekiyor. Ben Müslümanım ve tek kullanımlık plastik kullanmıyorum. Poşetleri ise ömrü bitene kadar kullanıyorum. Lavaboya asla yağ dökmüyorum. Çünkü dağlarda denizlerde yaşayan varlıklar Allah'ın masum kulları. Ve insan yeryüzünde Allah'ın temsilcisi, onun adına onun kullarını şefkatle yönetmekle mükellef.

      Look please, İslam says that:
      Corruption has appeared throughout the land and sea by [reason of] what the hands of people have earned so He [i.e., Allah] may let them taste part of [the consequence of] what they have done that perhaps they will return [to righteousness].

      Most of this washes off roadsides and city streets. Some is direct dumping but a lot of this is pushed to the river by nature.
