It was not easy for her to sit and see her cousin passed the exam, and she failed. I am sure seeing him just reminds her of it. She is already feeling a failure. She doesn't want him to see her crying.

What I don't understand is why didn't Kabri tell the truth why she didn't pass the test - it's because she did not answer the History questions correctly. She did not pay attention to the questions. It has nothing to do with her talent. She has a chance to do it again. She just needs to study hard and pay attention/read the questions carefully before answering them.
