I saw them live in Copenhagen this last August. When they played Planet Earth I was pleasantly surprised, since it's not exactly one of their big hits, and I believe I locked eyes Gerald and he seemed amused that I knew all of the words. Used to listen to it all of the time when commuting to work in my early 20s. Anyway, DEVO translates so well to video game soundfonts. This could easily be a Mario Kart track and no one would even question it. I have no doubt that their sound influenced a lot of early video game composers. I always used to describe DEVO to my friends as "a band that sounds like a Mega Man soundtrack". Edit: If you take requests, please do It's Not Right. It's use of sound effects in it's arrangement opens up for so many creative opportunities for a cover.
I got the first half of It's Not Right down ages ago, but never finished the song, so as far as likelihood of completion goes it's pretty high up the list. That's also one of my favourites. Thanks for sharing the story!
