Brunei aims to transform oil-dependent economy by 2035

- In 2014, Brunei became the first east Asian country to adopt Islamic Sharia law. Oil and gas are the backbone of the country's economy. More than 60 percent of its GDP is derived from oil and gas, which accounts for over 90 percent of its total exports. According to a BP world energy outlook survey, Brunei's oil reserves are projected to run out in the next 20 years. To minimize its dependence on hydrocarbons, Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah is pursuing a "Vision Brunei 2035" strategy, which calls for the promotion of other industries like tourism, local business development, infrastructure, social security and environment.

Great effort to Brunei.. Look at the top 5 (2018)wealthiest country in world in Southeast asia with 0% of Debts. Thats what Brunei do right now to diversify its economy in tourism, financial and other non oil sect. Brunei is slow but not to mentioned its the wrld most improved economy for 3rd consecutive years(World bank).
Big day for Brunei in 2-5 years time... as Brunei on IMF data projected Brunei getting stronger than expected as Brunei will launched its refinery petrochemical(2019), (2021)BruneiFertilizer, the longest bridge of Southeast Asia(temburong bridge(2019) and most amzing brunei the brilliant free from debts countris since 1999 would be "Brunei Stock Exchange" 2020 launching. Brunei without stock exchange history that being rated as world top 5 richest is something world should learn about Brunei is a wise wealth managemnt country from "SWF". Congratulation Brunei!!. A lot of FDi like from Germany engineeing for Brunei Fertilizer, Japan Hydrogen plant, goldcoin dairy products, Turkey Margarine, etc... came to invest in Brunei.. #slow will always win the race!.

If Brunei has oil and gas, why neighboring countries don't have? Like Philippines and Malaysia, if you look at map we are so close. Maybe we must produce our own oil in Philippines and natural gas.
Malaysian states neighboring brunei I.e Sarawak and Sabah, are rich in oil and gas but all of the revenue goes to the federal government.

That means everything hv to go through only one man, the wealth of the country, the military, everything...
That means no big company/capitalist can take advantage of their peoples market...
No company can bribe the monarch bcz they r more powerful.. Therefore they can make a flexible agreement and policy for every company that can balancely benefit both company/investors and their citizen, and all of that can be done in matter of seconds without those time wasting parliamentary bs in democracy...
In democracy, doesnt matter whose u vote for, these big company can easily bribe, threat and owned them and then make the politician to pass the policy that benefits big company/capitalist the most...
Not just politician they can own btw, literally everyone that hv power in the country they can owned them(thats why u see injustice everywhere). But not in Absolute monarch country, In Absolute monarch country u hv to make sure only one man is right, but in democratic country u hv to make sure thousands(only god knows how many crony and beurocracy that they create throughout decades in the system)...
All the citizen of Absolute Monarch country like Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar enjoy the same privilege as Brunei, the most common privilege is free healthcare and free education....
