1 hour of my life was well spent watching my childhood replay all over again.
It was fun at first but i cringed knowing all the mistakes made by jagex after 2010.
Same here, nostalgic seeing the 2nd tutorial quest (can't remember specific name, with the dragon) and realizing my first ever taste of rs was 9 years ago in 2009...
Famoouse I’m trying to pin point when I first started and it was for sure at 07 or before so from 05-07 is where I was. I think I was in late 05 early 06. So it’s been 13-14 years... I haven’t been playing that whole time but the memory’s of my childhood will always remain.

I remember each world was full and you had to wait for someone to logout lol. RuneScape is amazing...
To be fair. There was alot less worlds. But yes I remember the pain. Especially the old drop an item on 1 account logout then login on a new one and pick it up trick.
omgg i remember this. I had to log on to the brit servers because all of the american ones were full
@m. ab nooooooo not world 2 most of the worlds if you played anywhere from 07 to 09 you couldn't logg in due to so many players you wouldn't know obviously if you're only saying world 2
i remember tho i have 3 veteran accounts with 10 year plus vet capes on almost 15 year vet capes

I just watched an hour long video talking about a game that I have not played for over 5 years. This really did bring back some great memories though.
I spent an hour watching a video on a game I never even played 😂. Does have a lot of similarities with Diablo 2 tho so it was very entertaining to watch.
This took me through so much nostalgia, I cant tell you how much i appreciate this video
What a nostalgia trip. I remember finding out about Runescape on Miniclip back in November of 2004, 1 year after I moved into the UK. I didn't know English so the game really helped me learn English. I still remember the Free World Trading and Wilderness being taken away. Used to play this game everyday after secondary school. Everyone did. Still come back to this game every so often. You never truly quit Runescape, just have a relapse.

Teared up multiple times during the video, especially near the end. Runescape means so much to me, having played it with my brother back in highschool and even having followed me throughout the years i havent played it with it beeing how i got my nickname "Dergi" in the first place. Thank you so much for making this video, looking back on all these memories is so precious to me.

This game is my entire life. So many beautiful memories being yelled at for not letting anyone use the house phone due to playing for hours on dial up. Great video. I can only imagine how much hard work this took

On 28th of december LYNX TITAN became the first OSRS player to achieve 200M exp in all skills ;)

Zezima achieved 200 million experience in all 27 skills, and 5.4 billion experience overall .
@@miggmigg56 in RS3, so that doesn't matter...they run double xp all the time in that. There's no double xp in OSRS. Lynx Titan is #1 on OSRS with 4.6B xp total.

In Rs1 we indeed all had 30 slots in the inventory. But Jagex made it to 28 in RS2. :)

This takes me back man. I started a couple of months after RS2 dropped when a friend mentioned it to me in school. It was such a different game back them. If you wanted to buy something specific you had to go to specific banks around the map just to even be talking to the right crowd otherwise you had to hold up around the west Varrock bank and hope your message would be seen over the hundred or so people there. You also just had to know the prices of items since the GE didn't exist and there wasn't an active in game database with prices. It's hard to imagine having to play the game without the GE now.

this is the most accurate/best video ever made displaying what happend during the years i began playing late 2004 and i've seen every single update ever since i withnessed basicly everything you saw in this video i stuck around for so long because i didnt had any other game to play at the time but then counter strike became a thing and i left runescape for that to play scoutknifez/gun game zombie mode all that taking a very long break from runescape till one day i saw on the forums Runescape oldschool... YOU DECIDE! bro never in my life was i so dedicated to spread the news and the day it passed and it got released you bet i spended every penny i had from rs3 to get a bond/play only oldschool runescape from that point onward as of now i never logged back in runescape 3 and i never will again because to me that's just a whole another game. i dont even know how it looks like if you asked me a question about it all i know is i had 99 RC Firemaking and 94 fletching but that's about it. spend all my rs3 cash on bonds so i was like 2 years member best update ever btw. bonds are amazing but yes thank you will for making this video brought back some awesome memories.

so much happened from 2004 to 2006, back then it really felt like an eternity looking back but being there for all of it makes me feel so lucky. taking turns at the library on the computers to fish lobbies in 30 minute increments sounds so crazy to me now but it was so fun back then and the feeling of finally getting a full rune set was unreal. thank you for this video man seriously!

This video is absolutely incredible. Games can seem so pointless to people outside of the community but this game has had so much passion and love both within and without Jagex throughout its whole life. Ups and downs have come. I logged into RS3 the other day and it makes me sad to see how small the playerbase is getting. I love OSRS and play it a lot, but RS3 is still such a good game it's just not gripping for a lot of older players.
Fantastic. Made me feel nostalgic. As a person with an account created in 2003, I've seen this game grow and falter. This video was very consise and set a very nice timeline showing the ups and downs of all the iterations of Runescape.

Wow not going to lie that thing with the dude crying at losing classic got to me and what am extremely kind and sweet thing for Jagex to do to cancel the timer, give him more time to say goodbye and actually finish the final quest. I know people probably said it was a PR thing but Jagex has a lot of genuinely good people and dedicated gamers. I think they did it out of kindest and nostalgia themselves more than anything.

I started playing this game late 2001 early 2002 or so and watching this video and seeing all the changes i've experienced firsthand gave me chills. It was also nice being able to see all the changes i missed when i went on hiatus for about 8-10 years, thinking the game would die out in popularity now that other FTP games were flooding the market. I'm so glad you made this video, the rush of nostalgia was worth the hour of my time.

Hahah, strange how updates worked at the time.
It was actually changed from 30-28 because worn items where no longer kept in the inventory screen freeing up space so they reduced the amount to make it less op
He says in an interview, it was 28 because that's all he could fit in this computer screen when programming it
I’m so sad that every video I’ve seen covering the history of runescape never mentions the Revenant Hunting clans in the wilderness back in 2008-2011. I guess it goes to show how small we were, but it was such a huge part of my childhood and I made so many friends back then doing that. It was the most fun I’ve ever had in a game even to this date. I miss it and I miss the three big clans we had, Playpro5, Kathryns Bow, and w141revhunts. If anyone from those clans is here you guys meant the world to me back then and really made my childhood enjoyable. Much love ❤️

Yeah, really. I remember how pessimistic they [Jagex] were about the idea of voting to bring back 2007 Scape. It just shows you how extremely out-of-touch they were with the community, and with how much of an absolute dumpster fire RS3 was at that time. We just wanted to play Runescape, and the main game at that time definitely was not (and if you ask me, still isn't) Runescape.
Old school RuneScape will last forever, it is a timeless classic and will forever remain so, in 1000 years people will still play old school, RuneScape 3.. meh, not so much
