Boy, we need more videos from you. Across all of RUclips, you are the most knowledgeable person about home winemaking. I got so much knowledge from your channel, so my wine getting better and better because of you. Thanks! Please, if it is possible for you - do some wine tasting of your wine!
THANK YOU!!! That is an incredible testimonial. Lol. It is such a small community that I just can't justify dialing back my full time job and dialing up my RUclips but someday I will!. I post a good bit more videos on my Patreon page anymore since the RUclips algorithm doesn't really do any favors for wine influencers.
You can size down to a #8 cork instead of a #9 but you are risking longevity. If you plan to drink the wine within a couple years it will be fine though. A #8 will blow if any tiny bit of renewed fermentation or MLF happens in the bottle also whereas a #9 will hold a little pressure. Nomacorks seem to slide out pretty good. Cheap agglomerated corks do too but I wouldn't bottle anything premium with an agglomerated. A good two step waiters corkscrew like a Truetap or Coutale will pull out the most stubborn corks with very little effort.

Nice. Thank you. I love to see the old corkscrews. It's been awhile thanks for posting a video
Thanks David! Yeah the old corkscrews are pretty cool and make for a nice decoration as a wine person.
This was super helpful thank you! I've just seen one of those lever corkscrews I'm thinking of buying. Thank you!
Fun video. These cork screws could be a great shadow box display if you're into things like that. Cheerz.
Nice collection and interesting trivia.
Mainly use a Lazy Fish corkscrew as it works well and I appreciate the mechanics of it.
Cheers! 🦆
Thanks! I have pondered if I need a lazy fish or otherwise scissor style corkscrew. They are neat.
The boy is likely a take on the famous Manneken Pis landmark statue in Brussels Belgium.
Cool colection.
Thanks Jim!
