No confirmation bias here whatsoever! I especially like how you explore the psychological and psychic makeup of the individuals involved in the cases you explore, and not simply the paranormal angle. This is another fine addition. I really think you have a talent for maximizing the paranormal spooky edge of stories while keeping enough skepticism to keep feet planted in reality, therefore avoiding the trap that many a spoopy channel falls in to. Just a rando’s opinion 😊

Good evening Reverend, Nice to be watching your channel and your gripping narrative after a short break. This scary episode has a parallel to a frightening episode I watched aired in the Netflix series "Haunted," Season 2, Episode 2, titled Ward of Evil. Thoroughly enjoyed your narrative, audio, and accompanying visuals.
Your audio design rules dude. Its honestly inspiring. You will get huge one day if you keep at it. You are hands down my favorite storyteller on RUclips, and i've only just discovered you and your channel recently.
Before I can have any opinion on this story, I would love to research any medical or police records on the matter. Someone being shot, even by accident, would no doubt require reports from different authorities. There might even be local newspaper reports -- after all, that would be an awfully serious accident and would garner attention.
Good points. The medication she was on is also important. The mortician said that features wouldn't go to normal, but high doses of morphine can stop eyes from closing, so possibly other features freeze on the face. I wondered about the embalming process. Wouldn't that fix the face? Questions. If this story is true, then the only thing to do is call for a Catholic priest. They are not all given specialist training, but there is a department that deals with exorcism. The thing is, I know they would be asking lots and lots more down-to-earth questions first. I understand this is extensive in order to make sure it is not a psychological or health issue. Which is just as we began the process of doing. If there really was an issue, there is so much more to know. What was her religious status? Had she done anything, like "playing" with an ouija board or other occult practices? It was the late 1960s, so anything was possible. The point is, I don't know about you, but I couldn't even begin to speculate about this. There are too many unanswered questions.
Yes, it's frustrating that I was unable to get any more information, other than what Brad Steiger wrote in his book - along with the quotes from Caroline Spencer that he includes.
I'd love to share more, but this is all the information I have. I based it on Brad Steigers write up of the case, which included direct quotes from Caroline. But I couldn't find any info on the location, sadly.
@FrightfulPodcast I hope you don't think I was being critical. I know it wouldn't be possible to answer all the questions without months of research, which would involve going to the place and accessing records to name but two things. I just mean that answering a question regarding the veracity of the case would require a whole list of questions answered. I know the Church proceeds that way, so I followed their approach. All the best with your channel 👍
@@kerryhorwitz4093 Not al all, Kerry. I think you made some great points, and I'm glad you're engaging with the videos. I'm also pleased that people are potentially critical of the cases. My aim with this channel is to present scary stories that have been recorded either in the paranormal literature or through investigators interviewing witnesses. But it's important that the viewer decides for themselves if they think the claims made actually happened. For example, in this video I mention about how it's possible this could have just been inspired by the Exorcist, as it's so similar, but I'm open the possibility that this really did happen. I think, for me, I'm quite happy sitting in the middle ground of...'who knows?' So it's great to engage and chat about these cases. So thanks again for connecting.
So glad you liked this one! This bit where the devil voice was singing 'Let her lie in flith and vomit...let her die...let her die in filth and vomit'...that bit in the video really gave me the chills. Which is weird because I made it. lol.
Excellent story and narration. Nice job with the other voices - I didn’t know that was you. Very evil sounding devil voice had just the right edge to make it realistic. I’ll be sure to watch for more of your content.

I love your videos. I wish you success. I'm currently in Zante on holiday. I couldn't sleep it's 5 am, I'm sat on the balcony, watching lightning in the distance, listening to this, and it's freaking me out.
Having just recently stumbled across your channel I’ve been listening along whilst doing working or doing the housework. Your storytelling is incredible. Now I’ve been a horror fan since I was very young and being in my late 30’s now I’ve found myself getting frustrated that I can’t find anything that actually creeps me out anymore, often finishing book after horror book to no avail… until this video! When the voice started the hairs on the back of my neck prickled no end. Amazing! I can’t wait to check out your books 📚
My 4th Episode viewed and marvelled at Peter's video editing on this one. Just like in The Exorcist when there is a 3 frame shot of the Demon at 45m1sec - here in this case we have a subliminal image cut in at 16min47sec - don't know if it is 3 frames but it's quick with an accompanying sound effect as well. Again it shows the amount of work that Peter puts into his work and his knowledge (even if subconsciously) of masterful horror film editing techniques of yesteryear.
Delighted that you spotted that! That was, as you say directly inspired by Friedkins Pazuzu subliminal cuts in The Exorcist. At around 27:48 I also turned the shot negative as a little homage to the original trailer for The Exorcist. I get a kick out of these little touches, but sometimes forget I've even done them once it's out. So it's really satisfying when someone spots them, and reminds me!
@@IntoTheFog Talent will always rise to the top. Just sitting down for the feature length "Deborah Moffit" episode. Can't wait to see what techniques you have infused over a feature length. I was as absorbed as if I was reading a book, great channel , I absolutely love it 😊
Just have to say I LOVE your channel, for a few reasons; 1. There are very few RUclipsrs who cover these topics and also cover the UK (albeit obviously not exclusively), and even fewer who do so with any level of quality. 2. I grew up on Fortean TV and Father Lionel Fanthorpe and since you are a Reverend and write for Fortean Times, it's hard not to see similarities. Ones I hope you will find flattering! Anyways, bit of a nostalgia kick, and the content is great. I watched your episodes about Clophill first. I grew up near Clophill and didn't know half of that story, although as a kinda goth-inclined punk, I had a lot of friends who went there at night as teens. None causing any mischief, but probably annoying the locals anyway!
My mother's a CNA and I had some brief training through a nursing home. It's true that some clients have NO respect nor self-awareness, which makes it an intense field to work in.
Wow, thank you! I’m so glad you liked the voices. My channel isn’t big enough to hire actors so I had to do all those voices myself. 😂 My poor kids were disturbed by the weird noises coming from my little home studio! Thanks for the kind comment.
Hello Peter! Cool episode! I know this case happened in 1969, but where? Is the hut still there? Maybe you can pay it a visit, just like clophill and discover, after all these years, what really happened to meg there! 🙃
If only I knew where it happened, too! Basically, my source for this episode was a book by the investigator Brad Steiger, which offers a description of the case along with direct quotes from Caroline Spencer. I used these to form the tape cassette sections of the video. I was really surprised to find that nobody else seems to have talked about this case on the internet yet! Seems like I got there first. :)
It's also be interesting to know if the spirit that entered Meg Eston ever returned to the hut, after she died. Or if it's still on the prowl somewhere, roaming the world for a new home.
Peter, you are such a talented story teller and I really appreciate all the hard work you put into these videos. I fell asleep late last night to this story and had to come back and finish it this morning lol. I have 2 questions for you, what was the actual cause of Meg's death & didn't they make a movie based on this story?
Thanks for this video, Peter. I’ve just come across your channel and love your narration style. I work as a Quantum Healing hypnosis and entity release practitioner, and it sounds to me like Meg did have a very nasty case of demonic possession, which would have been brought on from the trauma of the gun shot wound to her spine. Generally, any kind of physical or emotional trauma will fracture the auric field of the human body and allow energy parasites, including demons and earthbound human spirits to attach. Most people have attachments but are completely unaware. In some cases of demonic attachment, the person will hear voices in their head, have thoughts which are not their own, and may behave in a way that is contrary to their usual behaviour. In less serious cases, the attached entity may cause physical aches and pains, insecurity, lack of confidence, depression and any number of emotional issues. Very happy to chat to anyone who is going through any issues with attachments. Lots of love
never heard of this before thank you so many cases ive never heard off but very intriguing and interesting informative as well thanks love your content ❤
@@IntoTheFog Well, now that you've mentioned it, I was already scared before you had let us know that you did the voices yourself. The name change to "Into The Fog" is contributing to the whole environment of spooky. I guess you could say, everything about this channel is creepy, so you're doing a great job. 👻

Ha ha! I originally dialled that jump scare sound effect to max volume, so when I was checking it through I almost fell of my chair. Thanks for watching!
If I had a nurse who kept barging through my door unannounced, never got me up out of bed, talked trash about me to my housekeeper and my doctor on the first night, and tried to drug me so she could spend her working hours sleeping, I’d behave a little demonically, too. 😏
You’re a good storyteller. The voices were very jarring though mainly when talking normal. I got over and listened to the whole thing. Good job, got my sub!
I think this woman had been Possessed by the Spirit of the old Man ,or the old man had Been Possessed in life and when he died the Demon needed a new person and just at that point the woman came in to the old stone house and was then possessed by that Demon , of cause this is just pure theary and could be way off the Mark, but this is a great channel , I am a Paranormal Investigator so these story's are fasanating weather true cases or not love the way you produce them .
I don’t think you’re off base, I absolutely agree. Particularly when the patient knew ms. Spencer’s first name as well as other personal details. Father Carlos Martins, a well known catholic clergyman and exorcist, said he had 3 criteria he always looks for first, when being asked to consult on a possible possession. One is what he calls unconventional knowledge. The individual has knowledge that would be almost impossible for them to have any in any normal circumstance.
Hi peter, here to just say though im new im gonna watch all your videos and support you from now on as much as i can. And spread the word of your channel to friends
Excellent!!! You tubes algorithm did it again, I clicked on and I subscribed after I finished watching it…. Great all around production, thanks!!! I started 36:19 commenting my theory about what happened from a psychic perspective you said it so…..👍
I was in hospital earlier this year and was abused by the doctors and nurses as well as the family of the patients near me! I had no idea why I was unconscious for 4 days of the seven and even then I was asleep most of the time, it was horrible and I signed myself out early to a scape them, don’t care if I’m dead or taking my last breath I will never go back!
Very interesting and unsettling video. I love your narration style. I'm not a nurse but I was my mum's full-time carer for twenty years. I saw a lot of stuff so I suppose I have a (very) rudimentary knowledge. Everything described in the video sounds like a form of dementia. Meg disappeared before the accident? Was she wandering off already at that point unexpectedly? Appearing totally fine and sweet to all the day staff and her doctor, but a complete change around with her carer/night nurse? Sounds like sundowning. Not needing to sleep, or needing very little sleep? Calling out for "ridiculous" things, or not even knowing why she called out in the first place? The vomiting fit at the end makes me wonder if she was in the later stages, where swallowing can become more difficult. The most heartbreaking part for me, is the moment Caroline walked in on Meg crying and when they spoke amicably. This has to be one of the most horrible moments; the moment of clarity where a person realises that their cognitive state is not right. Imagine how frightening that is, to realise that you are "going mad". Please no real healthcare professionals come after me, I'm only going by what I've witnessed so obviously there is room for error. On a lighter note that man who stayed in his stone hut hating everyone until he died is a mood 😆

Love your story-telling, Peter, I could listen to you all day! I especially appreciate how you explore all the possible "angles" in a case before jumping to conclusions. No confirmation bias here whatsoever! I especially like how you explore the psychological and psychic makeup of the individuals involved in the cases you explore, and not simply the paranormal angle. Looking forward to your next drop! Cheers from Canada!
So glad you like the approach I’m taking. Thanks Jamie.
This is another fine addition. I really think you have a talent for maximizing the paranormal spooky edge of stories while keeping enough skepticism to keep feet planted in reality, therefore avoiding the trap that many a spoopy channel falls in to. Just a rando’s opinion 😊
I love this take. Thank you, and great to see you here again!
He's a great story teller, mysterious and enlightening 😊
This was outstanding Peter. In our view, your production’s are head and shoulders above most other supernatural related channels. Thank you. M & T - UK.
What an encouraging comment. Thanks to you both.
Another wonderful production, Peter! You are top-notch at sparking the imagination of the listener. Thanks for the frights!
Oh, this means a lot. Thank you!
I love how you tell these stories! Real or not you keep me intrigued! The sound bites and music are on point!!! XOXOXO 💜 💜 💜
Hi Peter.. I have to say, since coming across your channel, I've become hooked with your stories. I love ghost stories and horror, but didn't realise how entertaining just listening to you would really be! Just today, I've spent near on the entire day watching you and now I've gotta go into work lol, but I shall be back, tucked up on my sofa with a hot drink , in the dark watching another one of your stories..keep them coming peter xx
Wow, Lisa. It kind of blows my mind to think people can watch these videos, one after another, and not get bored. That really encourages me, so thank you. Have a good day at work!
@IntoTheFog peter, as I write now, I'm watching The Cage..do you also realise that having knowledge of all these places you speak of, makes me want to visit them..thank you for all your content 😀
😂 The Cage is still on the market…you could move there!
Really well presented and compelling, thanks for all your vids! Love a good scare at bedtime and not disappointed 😱👍🏼
This is such a great channel. So glad I found it! Your storytelling is top notch!
Wow, that's high praise. Thank you!
I don’t really know if this story or any of other paranormal stories are true or not but I listen to your channel because you are an incredible storyteller. I enjoy listening to you and I hope to see your success and your channel grow massively. Best of luck! 🌹🙏😍
I hope so! Thanks for being part of that, Honest Dwarf (love your name btw)
So thrilled to have stumbled upon your wonderful program tonight, (I'm in Australia).
Really well done, enjoyable and informative. Thanks so much. ❤
Good evening Reverend,
Nice to be watching your channel and your gripping narrative after a short break. This scary episode has a parallel to a frightening episode I watched aired in the Netflix series "Haunted," Season 2, Episode 2, titled Ward of Evil. Thoroughly enjoyed your narrative, audio, and accompanying visuals.
Great to have you back for some more shivers! And thanks for commenting on the sound. I appreciate that.
I'd really like to know more about that stone hut. I think that's the key to unraveling the mystery.
This is absolutely riveting 😮!! Thank you. You did a great job. ❤
Thankyou Karen! It’s a pretty intense case tbh.
Your audio design rules dude. Its honestly inspiring. You will get huge one day if you keep at it. You are hands down my favorite storyteller on RUclips, and i've only just discovered you and your channel recently.
Peter I just bought your newest book and your first novel. Love the channel and the books. Thanks so much.
Never heard about this case. Thank you so much for the video and effort you put into it.
And thank you for noticing the effort!
Just found your channel, and I am so glad I did brilliant storytelling. It just keeps getting better!!!
Ah, Tom that's great. Chuffed you like this videos!
Nooooo! I'm all caught up with all episodes and am now awaiting new content! Love this channel ❤
I think, for me, I'm quite happy sitting in the middle ground of...'who knows?'
So it's great to engage and chat about these cases. So thanks again for connecting.
Well done on yet another fantastic episode, Peter.
Thank you Dave!
Another fantastic story Peter. Thank you ❤❤
Oh, thank you Audrey!
What great storytelling! That was creepy AF! I'll defhave trouble sleeping 😮
And does the American accent well! 😊
Very well put together Rev. Well done ❤
Thank you, Dean. I did all the voices too...so my poor kids, hearing me singing freaky demon sex songs, from my office studio. lol.
@@IntoTheFog 🤣
Hieee, i found your channel day before yesterday and I have been listening to you back to back. ❤ Hehe maybe a break at night when I'm sleepy but otherwise I've been on it since Thursday 😊
I love your videos. I wish you success.
I'm currently in Zante on holiday. I couldn't sleep it's 5 am, I'm sat on the balcony, watching lightning in the distance, listening to this, and it's freaking me out.
I love this image. Hope you managed to get some sleep.
@IntoTheFog, unfortunately not. It's an epic story, thanks
Well done with getting the sound sorted. You nearly forayed into that lucrative horror/ASMR territory.
Ha ha! On my Patreon, I do have a couple of scary sleep stories that I made - which i suppose have an ASMR vibe. Thanks for the comment!
I love that the voices creeped you out on this video! Thanks for taking the time to tell me.
Love your channel, very professionally done.
Thank you very much!
If the BBC ever allowed a sequel to "Ghostwatch" (a treatment has been written) I would lobby hard for you to get the gig.
I'm really glad I found this channel!
I'm really glad, too. Thank you!
Very good narration and good editing. I really enjoy your channel. Keep up the good work. Regards from Denmark.
Thank you! Delighted you like the editing, too.
Your channel appeared in my channel suggestions so I thought I’d take a look . Wow, I’m so glad I did , I’ve watched a couple of videos now and I must say I’m impressed , you are a brilliant story teller, you tell them so well that I can believe I’m there . I was as absorbed as if I was reading a book, great channel , I absolutely love it 😊
You just put a proper spring in my step. That's for being so kind.
Once again another great story and well put together. Your editing is spot on.your diction is superb. Are you Dominic coopers brother lol. ❤
Ha ha! So many people mention him when the see me.
Just have to say I LOVE your channel, for a few reasons;
What a fantastic comment. Thank you, James. I also had a pizza with Lionel once. He's such a lovely man.
My mother's a CNA and I had some brief training through a nursing home. It's true that some clients have NO respect nor self-awareness, which makes it an intense field to work in.
OMG that’s the best 1 yet.i was there I could see it all in my head.Brilliant and the voices were excellent.Thanku
Wow, thank you! I’m so glad you liked the voices. My channel isn’t big enough to hire actors so I had to do all those voices myself. 😂 My poor kids were disturbed by the weird noises coming from my little home studio! Thanks for the kind comment.
Excellent production! Subscribed.
Amazing. Welcome to the gang!
Hello Peter! Cool episode! I know this case happened in 1969, but where? Is the hut still there? Maybe you can pay it a visit, just like clophill and discover, after all these years, what really happened to meg there! 🙃
That was my first thought - I wonder if the hut is still there. If it's stone, there'll be something of it still there.
Imagine finding that hut...!Cool story anyways!
Did it happen for real?
Peter, u always keep it exciting. Don't change a thing. Ur golden.❤😊
the start of the story reminded me of the film with Bette Davis and Oliver Reed in Burnt Offerings
Oh gosh, I love that film. I have the CD soundtrack which is signed by both Karen Black and the composer, Bob Cobert.
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Sharon. .
never heard of this before thank you so many cases ive never heard off but very intriguing and interesting informative as well thanks love your content ❤
Just finished work so carrying on my binge watching ❤❤❤
Hey Rev, I am totally hooked on your channel and I'm new here. Your storytelling style is awesome 👌
Glad you enjoy it. And welcome to the gang!
Watching for a second time great way to start October 👍
I’m currently listening to this episode while working from home. I had to stop the episode a quarter way through, because the voice is scaring me. 😳
Does the fact that I did all the voices in this episode make it less, or more, scary?
@@IntoTheFog Well, now that you've mentioned it, I was already scared before you had let us know that you did the voices yourself. And now that I know that you're capable of making those types of voices, you're also a little scary. But I suppose that is a good thing, given the type of content you create. The name change to "Into The Fog" is contributing to the whole environment of spooky. I guess you could say, everything about this channel is creepy, so you're doing a great job. 👻
You are a the best narrator I’ve,listened to on RUclips you a totally natural story teller. Wow! Most talented , you would make a great actor.
Wow, thank you!
The 'flame' in the eyes! I've seen that before as a child! Worse time ever!😢
Really? Wow. Who did you see it in?
Completely agree with these comments 100% excellent story telling, definitely a talent for making these stories inviting and having a cold shiver while watching them...
This sort of comment really encourages me. Thank you.
Well I’m not sure where you have been hiding but I am very happy I have found your channel😁 loving your uploads, I just been binge watching for hours. 👍🌻
Wow, Theresa! What a lovely comment. Thank you for your kind words. It's great to have you here.
I usually fall asleep to scary stories but this shit kept me up cos it was interesting and tbh I was just too scared to fall asleep 😅
You know, Jiggly? That's just about the nicest thing anyone's said to me all morning. :) Delighted that the episode had the desired effect. Thanks for taking the time to comment, too by the way.
You are a great story teller! You and Mr Ballen would be a great collab!
Most chilling story yet, it absolutely creeped me out.
Kudos with the voices, Peter!
Good original story. Love the setup.
Another brilliant video! Keep up the great work!
Oh, wow. Thank you so much for the kind gift, Sean. What an encouragement!
11:55 I wasn’t ready for this! 😂
Seriously, great story telling. I really appreciate.
Ha ha! I originally dialled that jump scare sound effect to max volume, so when I was checking it through I almost fell of my chair. Thanks for watching!
Wow, subscribers have more than doubled in a week! Well deserved.
I know! I do hope it continues.
If I had a nurse who kept barging through my door unannounced, never got me up out of bed, talked trash about me to my housekeeper and my doctor on the first night, and tried to drug me so she could spend her working hours sleeping, I’d behave a little demonically, too. 😏
Ha ha! 🤣
Great story telling!
Scary stuff. I believe it. Thank you! 🙏
Just found your channel. You are a great story teller, you have a wonderful voice. I subscribed😊
You’re a good storyteller. The voices were very jarring though mainly when talking normal. I got over and listened to the whole thing. Good job, got my sub!
Thank you! And that's a fair comment about the voices. Delighted you still subscribed.
Thanks Peter 🤙🤙 great video as always!!
Whoah, Adam. Thank you! You're a star.
The Fortean Times was one of four magazines I bought every time it came out at the local magazine store. I miss it.
Hi peter, here to just say though im new im gonna watch all your videos and support you from now on as much as i can. And spread the word of your channel to friends
I appreciate that, Luke. Thank you!
G'day Rev: New sub, i can see your channel will grow...

Thank you so much! Making this one gave me the CREEPS.
Excellent!!! You tubes algorithm did it again, I clicked on and I subscribed after I finished watching it…. Great all around production, thanks!!! I started 36:19 commenting my theory about what happened from a psychic perspective you said it so…..👍
Please do more of these videos please im a new subscriber and just watch every single video already
I really do love your Chanel keep up the excellent work thank you
Thank you! I appreciate the positive words, Adam.
First saw your presentation on Billy Carson's 4biddenknowldege and my curiousity was piqued. You have this amazing way of presenting stories that draws you in and keeps you there and wanting more.
I'm so grateful for you saying that. Thank you for such kind words. I'm hoping to grow this channel, so if you're every on one of my Billy Carson videos and you wanted to point people this way, too, I'd appreciate it. No pressure, though.

Wow another one so scare well told very creepy love channel very interesting
