Ryan I would love a video on “signs your guy friend is into you” or how to move a long term friendship into dating. I have a long-time friend who occasionally flirts but has never made a real move. I also catch him paying more attention to me than he does to other friends and he seems to try to make me laugh more than our other friends. I never thought he was shy but maybe he is? Some of our friends have said they think he likes me but admit that he has never told them if he does. I can’t tell if he’s interested in me or just appreciates our friendship. I’m afraid to make a move on him and ruin our friendship if I’m reading this wrong.
I was in this situation:) I didn’t think he liked me but I took a leap of faith and two days ago I told him how I felt . Sure enough he felt the same way! Sometimes you just have to get out of your comfort zone , cuz if you don’t . You’re just not getting a chance at all. You’re just gonna keep pushing it back and say you’ll tell him when you know you won’t . If you tell him tho , you could start something new and AMAZING, so just take a leap of faith . Ik you can do it 😉
My guy isn't big on communicating via text - but he did bring over an awesome quiche for dinner on Friday night, and then the next afternoon went out of his way to bring his motor mower & whipper snipper over to tidy up my yard (rental inspection soon & I haven't been feeling well) - so I reckon he gets big thumbs up for those 😊 I guess sometimes (especially with the shy less communicative guys) actions speak louder than words.
There's a great book that Ryan has referenced here - "The Five Love Languages" by Gary Chapman. Good read, not too long. Helps you understand the ways that he expresses love (service) and also what your own is (such as spending quality time). Helps avoid misunderstandings.

You should do a long distance series. My boyfriend and I always talk every night. I haven't seen him in months. We both are in our 20s but live at home with our parents an hour away from one another and things get complicated. A long distance series of advice would be wonderful.

The guy I’ve been flirting with is from UK and I’m American. We have FaceTime each other and virtual flirting with each other. We are both deaf. He signs in BSL and I sign in ASL. So we exchanged videos in how we spell out each others names (me signing his name in his BSL and he signing my name in ASL) it was really awesome. And after a couple of days of not charting because I like that we don’t have to chat everyday but love the fact that he checks out my insta story. Just means he’s really interested in seeing what I’ve been up to lately even though both of us are doing our thing. I’m interested to see where this takes us in a day or two and see if the interest is still there.

Ryan Patrick Ha well I’ve dealt with one too many American lads that won’t do what the guy in UK can do. Even with deaf American men. And I’m not talking about sign language alone. I personally think it’s fascinating and interesting to meet men from other parts of the world and experience their culture and personalities from their perspective. It opens up a whole new horizon in what we can learn from people. And because of him, It piqued my interest in learning British Sign Language. One day in the future, should I travel abroad, I’d have some knowledge to draw from and be able to communicate with deaf British folks. I learn a lot more about others than what I learned here in our country. The perception of dating is so different in Europe than the dating scene here. But this is not to say American men are not worthy. It’s just that I have not found one that knocks my socks off yet! ☺️

A conversation I had last night is super heavy on my mind today... I think I played it safe to the point the conversation ended up changing to a different topic. I mean -- I didn't see what he said to me coming. Now with this upcoming hike we're are going on -- my mind is just spinning. I'm so excited to go on this hike with him! If he wants to be sarcastic or sassy, BRING IT! I'm a huge fan of people with a sense of humor. I can throw a few punches myself...I sometimes shock myself. I playfully said to him that I wasn't sure I could handle him but at the same time, I do have thick skin. He responded basically with, "how about tongue lashing?" What?! I literally was flabbergasted because I would have NEVER thought he would say something like that to me -- not right now anyways. I had idea what he meant but I didn't wanna be like eager. But it ended up backfiring because he changed the topic to Netflix shows. Ugh... I keep reminding myself that this hike we're going on will go amazingly well. That text isn't always the best depiction of what a person is feeling or thinking or what the context/intention of what is being said means. Can someone tell me judging by the second paragraph if there is intent behind his statement? Am I delusional?
Only ever had one guy text like this... we dated for a couple months and then -"freaked out" and "wasn't in a place to be building something". So. Onto the next. But I still think about his clever use of emojis.

The dude I have been dating texts me jokes. Mostly dad jokes. I think that is flirting. Also when I colored my hair red he called me "carrot". Lol I like him but I wish he was a bit more flirty. Although he did tell me this morning that he missed me yesterday.
Exactly, so don't try to determine that through his texts. Only try and determine that when you're with him on dates. If he's just texting you and not asking you on dates, he's wasting your time 😉
@@adday. Yes, you're probably right if his age is under like mid 30's on down. Older than that and they simply may not like to text much or aren't very good at it, so they will text as little as they possibly can. There are exceptions, and you'll know because he will text a lot (even if older); so then the keeping it sweet thing does apply of course.
Update: Well, today he called again, and this time asked me out to dinner. I said yes 😊 There's this guy, where in the beginning I was actually in doubt if he was being nice. Then he started to call, and he is hilarious and makes laugh almost all the time. Then he started to call with FaceTime... and sometimes he sends me videos of him playing music and singing. Sometimes it's just silly song with silly filter on. Sometimes it's serious. All this while still texting regularly - him initiating. I have yet to say yes to a date - or even just a coffee- which might explain the ... behaviour lol. I mean I am in no doubt that he is trying to capture my time, impress me and make me think that he is super cute. But I'm like... is this too over the top try-hard or is he genuinely interested... I can't decide if I should give him a chance or just not
Yeah, if these kind of efforts aren't clicking with you, it sounds like you're just not into him. Might be time to cut him loose so he can put those efforts into someone who will truly enjoy them, ya know? 🙂

I really need help with this guy I met two weeks ago. I stopped him dead in his tracks with ‘the stare’ he looked like a deer in the headlights but did edge closer immediately after and we danced and kissed. He text me the very next day not eleven hours after leaving the club and we got on great. Since then we’ve been on one date over dinner, he came to me and treated me to dinner and drinks then dropped me home and we kissed again, which I could tell he was really into. He said as much in the text that followed when he made it home safely. If he really likes you, then he doesn't care where you live or what you do for a living, those are just secondary factors, and do not define you. If he looses interest solely because you are out of a job (which so many people are at the moment) that says more about him than you hun, and will be his lost. Confidence is the most attractive thing in a person. Own it!!

So i met this guy online and i know its him not a catfish or anything lol , we live far apart and we have so much in commen including the fact that we dont want to date unless its the right person and the right time. I've met a guy at the gym. We talk on the phone 4 times a week and meet once a week. I have a hard time deciding if he's interested or if he just wants to be friends. For example, I have been physical with him by touching his arm and he is okay with that. I've shown that I'm interested in him. We flirted alot, he broke the touch barrier very quickly nothing too in your face passing me an item and holding my fingers just that second too long. Intense eye contact, very deep conversation talking for hrs. He shaved once and asked me to feel his face. (We kind of worked together, he lived on the premises of my business). After about 5mo he ran his finger gently down my thigh we exchanged a smile. After 10mo of this we had hung out a few times at his place (he moved out) I had mentioned I had feelings but wasnt ready for a relationship he acted kinda weird and said hes happy being single etc etc. Our last interaction was at his house we had cocktails talked alot about the future in a platonic but not way, he asked if I wanted to shower together after a swim but I gently turned him down, 1 because it wasnt appropriate at the time and two I wasnt without some clarification of his feelings. He then has never spoken to me again and denied he was attracted to me at all said I twisted situations. This makes him sound like an ahole hes really not I believe he was just scared. Question. So me and this guy have history. We never dated, or had a actual relationship but we did mess around. Then I went off on him one day, he blocked me and changed his number. This was back in 2018 decemember. After that regardless he will still see me in public and say hello and hold small talk. When I will numb into him he will be usually tipsy or drunk. He will ask for my number, but he will never text me or he will just block me. So last week he saw me at t gas station he asked for my number, he actually did text me but we ended up sexting. The guy I’ve been flirting with is from UK and I’m American. We have FaceTime each other and virtual flirting with each other. We are both deaf. He signs in BSL and I sign in ASL. So we exchanged videos in how we spell out each others names (me signing his name in his BSL and he signing my name in ASL) it was really awesome. And after a couple of days of not charting because I like that we don’t have to chat everyday but love the fact that he checks out my insta story. Just means he’s really interested in seeing what I’ve been up to lately even though both of us are doing our thing. I’m interested to see where this takes us in a day or two and see if the interest is still there.

Ryan Patrick Ha well I’ve dealt with one too many American lads that won’t do what the guy in UK can do. Even with deaf American men. And I’m not talking about sign language alone. I personally think it’s fascinating and interesting to meet men from other parts of the world and experience their culture and personalities from their perspective. It opens up a whole new horizon in what we can learn from people. And because of him, It piqued my interest in learning British Sign Language. One day in the future, should I travel abroad, I’d have some knowledge to draw from and be able to communicate with deaf British folks. I learn a lot more about others than what I learned here in our country. The perception of dating is so different in Europe than the dating scene here. But this is not to say American men are not worthy. It’s just that I have not found one that knocks my socks off yet! ☺️

A conversation I had last night is super heavy on my mind today... I think I played it safe to the point the conversation ended up changing to a different topic. I mean -- I didn't see what he said to me coming. Now with this upcoming hike we're are going on -- my mind is just spinning. I'm so excited to go on this hike with him! I literally was flabbergasted because I would have NEVER thought he would say something like that to me -- not right now anyways. I had idea what he meant but I didn't wanna be like eager. But it ended up backfiring because he changed the topic to Netflix shows. Ugh...
I keep reminding myself that this hike we're going on will go amazingly well. That text isn't always the best depiction of what a person is feeling or thinking or what the context/intention of what is being said means.

Older than that and they simply may not like to text much or aren't very good at it, so they will text as little as they possibly can. There are exceptions, and you'll know because he will text a lot (even if older); so then the keeping it sweet thing does apply of course.

There's this guy, where in the beginning I was actually in doubt if he was being nice. Then he started to call, and he is hilarious and makes laugh almost all the time. Then he started to call with FaceTime... and sometimes he sends me videos of him playing music and singing. Sometimes it's just silly song with silly filter on. Sometimes it's serious. All this while still texting regularly - him initiating.

I really need help with this guy I met two weeks ago. I stopped him dead in his tracks with ‘the stare’ he looked like a deer in the headlights but did edge closer immediately after and we danced and kissed. He text me the very next day not eleven hours after leaving the club and we got on great. Since then we’ve been on one date over dinner, he came to me and treated me to dinner and drinks then dropped me home and we kissed again, which I could tell he was really into. He said as much in the text that followed when he made it home safely. If he really likes you, then he doesn't care where you live or what you do for a living, those are just secondary factors, and do not define you. If he looses interest solely because you are out of a job (which so many people are at the moment) that says more about him than you hun, and will be his lost. Confidence is the most attractive thing in a person. Own it!!

I've met a guy at the gym. We talk on the phone 4 times a week and meet once a week. I have a hard time deciding if he's interested or if he just wants to be friends. We flirted alot, he broke the touch barrier very quickly nothing too in your face passing me an item and holding my fingers just that second too long. Intense eye contact, very deep conversation talking for hrs. He shaved once and asked me to feel his face. (We kind of worked together, he lived on the premises of my business). After about 5mo he ran his finger gently down my thigh we exchanged a smile. Question. So me and this guy have history. We never dated, or had a actual relationship but we did mess around. Then I went off on him one day, he blocked me and changed his number. This was back in 2018 decemember. After that regardless he will still see me in public and say hello and hold small talk. When I will numb into him he will be usually tipsy or drunk.
