I put a super 40 on my 98 k1500 and even though it ain’t too loud, it’s still just too loud for daily driving. I thought I’d dig it from what I heard online, but in person is just different. Probably gonna be doing exactly what you’re putting on, sounds so much cleaner imo
Love the sound of the Flowmaster 40 and 50, classic turbo muffler sound. In the end you gotta go with what works for you though. Hope you still like the Magnaflows.

Thanks brother it’s a little hard to tell exactly the sound through the TV screen but it helps somewhat. I don’t see why there’s not a machine at the muffler shop that they can just hook mufflers up to so people can hear what they sound like. Even though I understand everyone’s engine is different. At least you can get an idea that way.
I got out of my super 40 and went to a super 50 and that was good for me with the American thunder dual on my F-150. As for you running a Chevy 700-R4 your car will be really quiet as the transmission will explode and die before the packing in your magnaflow goes out.
Yeah, I’ve broken this transmission three times already and if it breaks one more time then I’m putting in a 4L80 but supposedly the last time it’s been built up pretty tough and I haven’t had any issues in about a year so we’ll see.
I have a 40 series on my 04 5.4 F-150. Sounds amazing but it is loud. I have a Magnaflow on my 10 Titan. Not quite as loud as the F-150 but it definitely has a drone to it. I still love 'em both. Wouldn't change a thing.

It's probably 10-15% quieter and it has a smoother tone. It sounds absolutely nasty at WOT
Excellent vid. I have Pypes turbo mufflers on my ‘66 Mustang and the drone at cruising is annoying. I have read that the straight-thru design of Magnaflow quiets things down jn the cabin, and your video seems to prove that.

I'm not gonna lie, the flowmasters sounded awesome. But I have to agree that there's a time to be loud and not so loud. Hence the reason I got a magnaflow 12649 (3" in/3" out) on my '04 durango (5.7l v8). A nice little rumble when cruising and then being able to hear her roar when I feel like making my fuel needle move 😅. There is a little drone going up an incline at ~2500 rpm, but it's not unbearable. :)
This is why people don’t like flowmasters……… They always choose the wrong series for their application. Street cars nothings less than 50 series delta flows or 70 series. I wasted hundreds of dollars learning this lesson. I like magnaflow but I am a flow master guy at heart.

On SBC trucks we call em' dronemasters. They do nuthin' but add needless white noise to your neighbourhood. On my SBF engines I really liked the Hooker aerochambers. Try em'
Bro I know what you mean with the Flowmaster. They are the most aggressive mufflers. Deep throaty tone with a pitch, plus the crazy drone. I can’t use my phone too 😂. I grew up on the Flowmaster sound so it don’t bother me none. And yeah, my neighbors hate me. I got long tube headers, 3 inch exhaust with x-pipe and dual Flowmaster Super 10s. I love that super loud exhaust though lol. Awesome vid brotha.

The best part about Magnaflow is that it’ll increase your performance, no drone, and it has a bad ass tone. Flowmaster are chamber mufflers. Magnaflow is not. Good choice. Flowmaster is nothing but sound.
@@Floridamuscle of course Brotha. I have Magnaflow cat back performance muffler on my 2016 KIA Forte LX 1.8L Inline 4 and it has a nice deep tone. I love it for the same reasons as you mentioned. No drone, and at cruise speeds it’s not obnoxious. It has a low idle. Especially at red lights. Once you step on it real good like you did on the video then you’ll hear for sure. And it’s made in the 🇺🇸

Flowmasters are crappy Muffler people buy them because of the name Dynomax borla and Magnaflow are way better and sound better and or not as obnoxious as the Flowmaster

You need to choose the right Flowmaster mufflers if you want it quieter.
The delta series 50s are good for a mild sound. And don't drone.

No such thing as to loud. Nice ride. I had to get rid of my magnaflow for a flowmaster. The magna was almost stock. Sounds good on your ride though.

Sounds great. I love straight-through style mufflers. Added bonus: They flow better! Flowmaster mufflers don't flow that well.

Yeah, these are 3 inch and that's the exact same thing that happened to me. They sounded great at first and now they're louder than the Flowmasters 😖

I did exactly the same thing with my K5 Blazer. It also has a big block Chevy. Much better.

Flow master 40s are for racing extra loud... Street mufflers flowmaster 50s deltaflow much street friendly.
