    Are you able to send a copy of the plays or formations you run for 8u in this offense?

      I never ran this with 8U but I will see if I can locate that info. So much of this stuff is in my head now.

    Coach I would like to know what are your blocking rules against different fronts?

    • @CoachGeneClemons
      @CoachGeneClemons  4 года назад +2

      blocking schemes are consistent against multiple fronts. Mostly the scheme is predicated on rules. GAP, DOWN, BACKER is a phrase anyone running the Wing T should know.

    1st year coaching 9yr old tackle what’s the Best Ezest offense to run that will work ?

    • @CoachGeneClemons
      @CoachGeneClemons  3 года назад

      If you have fast kids zone. Lots of jet sweeps, reading the backside end, and play action off it.

    I appreciate that you at least draw a realistic Defense. So many coaches make videos or do presentations at clinics and they draw some unrealistic D that makes their blocking schemes look amazing... but I'm like, no DC is going to run a 3-2-6 against your run heavy O 🤣🤣🤣

      So true. It is one of the things I hate when watching presentations.

      @@CoachGeneClemons Absolutely! The other thing I hate is when coaches show game film of their "revolutionary" offensive approach and it quickly becomes apparent that the scheme is trash but the kid they have at running back is a 4/5 star D1 recruit with potential NFL talent. If your secret to success is having the second coming of Barry Sanders in your backfield that doesn't really help me much.

      @@CoachGeneClemons belly is one of those terms that is used a lot in wrong ways. Belly refers to the path of the ball carier before they get the ball, `verb: to run a path that goes slightly backward and away from the line of scrimmage before coming back toward the line of scrimmage` and its almost exclusivle ran with a 2 back set, the qb opens reverse, FB bellies, fake to the hb dive, qb hides ball on back hip and then fb takes the handoff with short extension to try and keep the ball hidden. Usually the hb got through a gap, fb follows same gap. If hb is stood up at line the adjacent gap is open it becomes a double dive. What a lot of people call a belly is a double dive or an iso, which in a lot of instances can look like a belly but it doesn't have all of the other attributes. You could call those plays something else that isnt such a buzz w2ord and it makes more sense to people that understand the terminology. I see what you are saying though in the video, that the left wing is bellying, but its more of a fake dive. Some guys try and say any tuck handoff with short extension to the fb is a belly (into the belly of the fb), some say any reverse open is a belly (veer and others have something to say about that), some say any hb lead is a belly (its a hb lead).
