I love how you are using your platform to advocate for continuous and sustainable change. Also, you are stunning!
Aw appreciate hearing this a ton! Thank you 🙈💛
hey I've accidently found your channel and since then I learned a lot about ethical fashion, so thank you so much
Aw thank you!! x
Sustainable fashion is expensive and is a privilege. However, people spend money on expensive things everyday. We purchase cars, Iphones, homes, and ect. Clothes should also be this kind of investment. We as a society are brainwashed into thinking that we need 20+ t-shirts or 10+ pairs of shoes. The reality is we don't need as much as we think. To be clear I am still a very consumerist person, who has yet to practice what I preach because it's difficult to reteach old ways of thinking and the dopamine rush of buying things is addictive. Right now I am happy to say that I am at least self-aware and will be extremely mindful of my future purchases by considering all my options and buying only when I feel necessary.
I really appreciate it when brands have real take back and remake programs...that is why I love the 'barefoot' brand Vivobarefoot. They have launched a website called ReVivo...where they take their old footwear and repair them and give them another life. Best brand for 'barefoot' footwear.
Just saw Arc'teryx president's call to action on companies' commitment to fair trade a few days ago. He said "The right to health, security, and fair wages is universal. At least, it should be. Supply chains need to reflect this." A young woman like you advocating & making videos about this is definitely ahead of many companies. You're inspiring. Keep it up. And let's hope more & more companies will genuinely take on the same mindset.
Systemic change must occur with individual change! Thank you for mentioning both!
Yes!! I think we can all be activists in our own way x
Very informative post and I love that you support marginalized groups and small businesses. Fantastic!
Yes!! So important to support small bipoc owned biz, especially right now! x
Hi! I just found you and really love your videos
I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago and I just wanted to say how much I enjoy and appreciate your content! I am working toward being more eco-friendly, zero waste, and sustainable and your videos are so helpful.
Makes me so happy to hear this! So glad I can help educate and build awareness around this x
Thankyou so much for this! It is so amazing that you use your platform to spread awareness and to help others like me!
Happy to continue this conversation and build awareness through it!! 💛
For Kotn, I will say that their cream denim trouser (the one she shows) has a very small fit, and it shrinks even if you don’t put it in the dryer. I had to size up by 2 sizes and after the I washed it once it was too small for me to comfortably fasten. Just wanted to let you guys know!
Ou good to know! I followed their size chart and found it pretty spot on with my measurements but I let them air dry!
LOVE THE CONTENT! I like how you compiled everything and made it so organized for us!!
haha I'm so happy you do!! x
I found this video so informative and thorough. I so appreciate all the research and work you put into this! I have been on my sustainable and slow fashion journey for 2 years now and I am always looking of new brands. You not only pay attention to the aspect of sustainability, but also inclusivity which is so important. Also thank you for including different inspiring instagram accounts. I am always looking for new and diverse inspiration.
This made my night to hear, appreciate your kind words and support a ton! Really happy that these videos can help and that the research doesn't go unnoticed x 💛
People talk about size inclusion for heavyweight women, but do women accept men who are not 6' tall? Thank you for shedding light on true equality.
LOVIN THIS CONTENT
I love what I see from Free Label but have always missed out since everything sells out. Other good local brands not mentioned: Jimi collection and moss grey
Love your videos!! You should check out Hara the Label for underwear! Such an amazing brand!
thanks so much for this video! I've been going through my saved sustainable fashion brands today and wasn't feeling them at all :// I also don't have instagram so I mainly discover new brands through videos like this
of course!! happy to share more x
Great info.
I love these videos so much! It's so refreshing to hear someone talk about size inclusivity in sustainable fashion! For denim what do you think about Levi's 'sustainable' line?
Yay so happy to hear! Yes it's so important to support brands that offer/committed to expanding to inclusive/extended sizing. Will peep Levi's but usually not a fan of any large brand with a 'sustainable' line, unless they've drastically changed their entire supply chain
So wonderful, thank you! Alice + Whittles is worth checking out for footwear.
Will check them out! x
She’s an angelic woman 🦋💕☁️✨
Thank you so much For this vidéo .You help me a lot in my journey .I try to be more ethical in my purchases ( thats difficult but its necesserary)
❤️❤️From Paris
So happy I can help, and appreciate the support a ton x hope to visit Paris one day!!
Would love to hear your thoughts on Quince! I keep seeing it’s ads come up on my Instagram lol
Great vid - I tried to work out the carbon / climate change impact of fast fashion in this video @
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
💛💛
YESSSS, thank you!
Also beautiful tree, what kind of tree / plant is that?
Of course! It's an olive tree! x
I appreciate you mentioning the earrings no irritating your ears. I’m always iffy on getting new earrings because I’m afraid they’ll irritate my ears.
Yes it's so important!! x
I came across your videos and I am hooked! I love your honesty and your positive attitude. Check out Frank &Georgia, it’s a small woman owned jewelry brand.
I didn't know about sustainable clothing or brands or the idea of it until Weylie and Sophia (and Robin) started their small business, womn. I think since then I have been slowly learning and trying to understand what it means to be more sustainable and sustainable minded, which i will be honest - is still completely confusing. I want to, and try to make a more conscious effort about where and how I am buying clothes but i am nowhere near perfect (especially on a second year teacher budget!) but I think the idea of becoming more sustainable really is a goal and i know it will take some time. somedays i feel like i am being sustainable or being better about my decisions other days i completely feel like i am contradicting everything i am trying to change :(
it can become sooo hard especially when brands claim sustainability, but then are very vague or are not anti-racist or inclusive of their branding.
i was curious, do you know about the brand Pixie Mood? They make vegan leather bags, they are also canadian i believe. i would love to know your thoughts on this brand (either if you have heard of it or your initial thoughts on it).
wow this is long, thanks cynthia for taking the time to read this comment! :)
Loved this video! It was so helpful!
Quick question: did you end up purchasing the Andie Bra from Free Label? I am thinking about purchasing it and would love to hear your opinion on the piece if you ended up getting it :)
Yay so happy to hear!! I haven't yet but I've gotten a few messages from subbies who have and they absolutely love and rave about it!! I may get it in the summer haha x
Do u have frc cover roll
I am based in the UK, I made a Kotn order of £151. Got charged £66.58 customs fees and import duty??? Has anyone else had this issue?
Oh no!! Duties are the worst I'm so sorry 🙃
Do you know of any Victorian style brands or more witch like fashion or gothic?
Not off the top of my head but will share here when I stumble upon them!
@@inspiroue please do lately I’ve been really inspired by Victorian or witchy fashion like in Sleepy Hallow, Elizabeth, Brooklyn, and Little Women.
