i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
I was worried they were just going to replace the actor - like the do in the SOAPS's. Now playing the part of Steve is Matthias Wandell. Princess Meow Meow will now be played by Bubbles
Steve, I think when you just mentioned the smaller bandsaws, that the bandsaw just became part of Woodworking for Mere Mortals. It is within the price range of other tools. It is sized for a small shop. And a project like the bandsaw box, and a perfect projects for WWMM.
Hi Steve! I wanted to ask how your 10 pull-up goal by June is coming along. Your video inspired me to install my own and start working out again. Never thought WWMM would be the source of fitness motivation I needed! Love the new format, keep up the great work.
Didn't notice a thing... Glad you are safe Steve. One thing I appreciate about you is that you acknowledge and talk about your mistakes. That is grace. You and Neil (Pask) have that. Worlds apart but your grace is wonderful!.. Keep on keeping on and keep yer fingers, ya knob!
Original band saw video is how I found you several years ago. been watching you since then. Upgrades to your shop have come along great God Bless and keep sawing.
I would highly recommend the 9" Ryobi bandsaw, I've had mine for almost 4 years and it has been a great saw. It even still has the original blade that cam with it on it! Definitely my most used saw I have.
I decided I'd make a bandsaw box for a grab bag gift this Christmas. And when starting a project that's new to me or one I have tried in a while I go to RUclips for inspiration and instruction. This, almost invariably, means I'll view a Woodworking for Mere Mortals video. You're to be congratulated. You continue to turn out excellent videos - without being full of yourself - in a modest shop. And you provide downloadable patterns too! Well done Steve.
Wow. Back in the day I binged your whole channel Memento-style and never noticed the intense video quality changes! Crazy how tech evolves. Great box! -Davis
Completely seemless! Also, it's great to see this updated. I followed your old video when I first got into woodworking and I was amazed at just how simple bandsaw boxes are to make!
Non-woodworker here that just really enjoys your channel. What in the world is a bandsaw box? I watched the video but still don't quite understand what it'd be for.
Hey Steve, I started following your videos a couple of months back. I really like the wwmm. But the day to day vlog format is quite plesend and enjoyable. I have stated w.w. myself now and are injoying it 🤗
Great remake of the video. This band saw box is one of the first things I tried to make when I bought my band saw (now three years ago) I didn't finish it completely (the drawer pull is missing) but it still lying around in my shop. Maybe I should finish it completely one of these lock down days.
Hi Steve! I actually was watching your channel when that original bandsaw box video was made! You were my first channel for woodworking I had subscribed too. I made one of those boxes as a gift. I love watching your videos and how you make things! Keep this good stuff coming! Stay well.
Such a smooth transition between old & new, I didn't even see the drawer bind & break in your handsaw!! Amazing recovery/repair with hidden wood filler paste, couldn't even see the joint 😁😜
You look younger today then 10 years ago good on ya Love your videos I think a 9” bandsaw is what most beginners have these days and I think you can help with project suggestions without spending big bucks on a floor model
Everyone commenting saying that they only noticed the wood change. I didn't even notice that compared to the glow up of Steve in 10 years, this guy works out!
This video is like any woodworking project: You envision something, half way through you screw up, you make the most of it by stiching stuff together and end up with something totally new and unexpecetd :D
It was actually really cool seeing your old footage. I only found out about your channel since the start of lockdown so I'm new here and not familiar with how you used to film stuff - but it weirdly had a lovely sense of charm and nostalgia to it. :)
Can we talk about how slick that transition at 5:40 was?? That's actually a difficult cinematic transition to pull off, which requires not only having the same focal length, but also angle of attack, (close enough) lighting, and aperture. Good work, Steve
It would be cool to see multiple band saw boxes that are all seemingly random shapes, but have slots and protrusions that let them link together to form a single larger shape. Somewhat like the block puzzle. Different shaped individual pieces that all link together form a larger unit.
Seamless! Haha! Perfect video Steve and as usual, you have created a fun, inspirational video. Loving your lock-down short videos. Perfect for when I have a few minutes spare. 😀👍🏻
can't get enough of that snarky sarcasm! good thing you got that attitude or alse you would never get to where you are now, hell you wouldn't have posted this or the previous videos without some kind of confidence in what you have to offer.
I tried making a bandsaw box after seeing the old video. Thank God there is NO video footage of it. It did not got well, LOL. Great video Steve. Wish I could tell where you added in the old footage at. LOL
If you watched the original bandsaw box video. 👇Like below👇 I watched the original when it first came out. I distinctly remember adding bandsaw box to the list of things I want to make. It’s still on that list and I’ve never checked it off. I bought my 14” grizzly bandsaw for $200 (Craigslist) but I put about $150 into restoring it. It was in rough shape. Grizzly had every part I needed to replace. I use it all the time and I love it.
I made one of those boxes & others also, i made mine with 1/4 in cedar stacked up to about 3 in. I made several they were a hit with everyone I had a ball I had forgot & think I`ll do it again
4:12 I just love how light can completely change the type of wood that is being used
Yeah crazy. Also so cool how light can turn your voice into an AM radio.
Also the way the light makes him look as if he's grey-headed 10 years ago, compared to the lustrous deep brown of today :P
i dont mean to be so off topic but does someone know of a way to log back into an instagram account?
I stupidly forgot my account password. I love any tips you can give me!
@Dario Ezequiel instablaster ;)
@@darioezequiel9855 1. why did you comment this now 2. google exists 3. 1 year later ._. so y necropost
FLAWLESS EDIT! Non-stop action, great storyline, and I really connected with the characters. 5-Stars!
They even managed to bring back the same actor!
I was worried they were just going to replace the actor - like the do in the SOAPS's. Now playing the part of Steve is Matthias Wandell. Princess Meow Meow will now be played by Bubbles

Lol that’s come “extra fancy” editing. Great job Steve. Keep em going.
i was waiting for the drawer to be yanked through that throat plate..... hmmm guess that was a dream.
Hi Steve! I wanted to ask how your 10 pull-up goal by June is coming along. Your video inspired me to install my own and start working out again. Never thought WWMM would be the source of fitness motivation I needed! Love the new format, keep up the great work.
Yey finally made it and with all your fingers in one piece well done great work.
Haha I was thinking the same
Always good to keep your fingers eh
Haha
Was just thinking the same
Great videos 👍
Didn't notice a thing... Glad you are safe Steve. One thing I appreciate about you is that you acknowledge and talk about your mistakes. That is grace. You and Neil (Pask) have that. Worlds apart but your grace is wonderful!.. Keep on keeping on and keep yer fingers, ya knob!
I love your honesty and sense of humour in these vids, Steve. I thank you for inspiring me to be a better wood worker.
PS: I'm so glad your production values are as high as they are, and that you don't use potatoes to film on. Any more.
Can't thank you enough for what you've taught me Steve. Love the throwbacks to the old videos!
Thanks and stay safe
Original band saw video is how I found you several years ago. been watching you since then. Upgrades to your shop have come along great God Bless and keep sawing.
Haven't really touched a saw in a decade, and I finished building a new desk this week, thanks for the refreshers.
I watched the original video a lot when I made my first band saw box. I used your design Steve and I made about 30 of them. Been a fan for many years.
Nope didn’t notice.. especially the species of wood change😉😂
it's the new fangled opal wood.
I thought it was like one of those mood rings from way, way back when. Remember those? 🙂
I SO remember that 10 year old video! I set the record for "the smallest bandsaw box", although I used my scrollsaw. ;-)
I would highly recommend the 9" Ryobi bandsaw, I've had mine for almost 4 years and it has been a great saw. It even still has the original blade that cam with it on it! Definitely my most used saw I have.

Absolutely seamless Steve..... no one will suspect a thing
Wow. Back in the day I binged your whole channel Memento-style and never noticed the intense video quality changes! Crazy how tech evolves. Great box! -Davis
Flawless transition. Great tutorial as always!
Completely seemless! Also, it's great to see this updated. I followed your old video when I first got into woodworking and I was amazed at just how simple bandsaw boxes are to make!
Great tutorial! Most videos I watched made it too complicated, but your instructions were easy to follow. Thank you.
That bandsaw box was what originally brought me to your channel. I was doing a search on them a free years ago.
I have been so enjoying your videos, of course I usually do. Thank you for doing this. Your cats are adorable
Non-woodworker here that just really enjoys your channel. What in the world is a bandsaw box? I watched the video but still don't quite understand what it'd be for.
Very cool! Industrial Light and Magic has nothing on you.
Hey Steve, I started following your videos a couple of months back. I really like the wwmm. But the day to day vlog format is quite plesend and enjoyable. I have stated w.w. myself now and are injoying it 🤗
This was pretty funny - and also looks pretty easy! Might give it a shot for a quick present for christmas.
Great remake of the video. This band saw box is one of the first things I tried to make when I bought my band saw (now three years ago) I didn't finish it completely (the
drawer pull is missing) but it still lying around in my shop. Maybe I should finish it completely one of these lock down days.
Amazing! I watched 8 times and still cannot detect what is old footage and what is not. You are a wizard Steve!
absolutely seamless my friend! and a wonderful box too loved the porkchop pull
Lol I like your attitude and approach to ww. Thanks Steve
I like this guys 'stuff and superb sense of humor! There are a bunch of Goobers out there that try to be humorous but fail miserably.
Hey steve love the daily vids
Tricky, you started with walnut and ended up with cedar. Good going, thanks!
Hi Steve! I actually was watching your channel when that original bandsaw box video was made! You were my first channel for woodworking I had subscribed too. I made one of those boxes as a gift. I love watching your videos and how you make things! Keep this good stuff coming! Stay well.
Hi, I have built your box twice and I liked them to get started into making bandsawboxes!
From Germany, Volker
Awesome video steve. You haven't changed in 10 years.
At the beginning you were clean shaven and by the end of the project you had a five o clock shadow! Great job Steve!
Steve "75% fresh" Ramsey.
Such a smooth transition between old & new, I didn't even see the drawer bind & break in your handsaw!! Amazing recovery/repair with hidden wood filler paste, couldn't even see the joint 😁😜
Awesome Work On The Bandsaw Box ! Stay Safe !
Nice! Great video! Peace and good fortune and good health to you and your family
You look younger today then 10 years ago good on ya
Love your videos I think a 9” bandsaw is what most beginners have these days and I think you can help with project suggestions without spending big bucks on a floor model
I am so glad to hear you will keep the videos going, it has really kept me going through this terrible time! I also received my sticker, thanks!!!
Fantastic editing, I had to watch it twice to find the cut.
Adam Savage just posted a bandsaw video today too. Bandsaws for everyone!
Everyone commenting saying that they only noticed the wood change. I didn't even notice that compared to the glow up of Steve in 10 years, this guy works out!
This video is like any woodworking project:
You envision something, half way through you screw up, you make the most of it by stiching stuff together and end up with something totally new and unexpecetd :D
Seamless editing as usual.
WWMM Mashups! :D I've got to build one of those boxes once I finish getting the shop together~
This is a great little project!!
Great Job of editing, I love ths series. great fin and a good learning experience
Your team did a great job
totally seamless transitions I'd keep that team if I was you , cheers Steve thanks again
Got my WWMM sticker yesterday.
It was actually really cool seeing your old footage. I only found out about your channel since the start of lockdown so I'm new here and not familiar with how you used to film stuff - but it weirdly had a lovely sense of charm and nostalgia to it. :)
Regular 8mm or Super 8 film, which one?
Steve thanks for the stickers, I will display them proudly.
Your first bandsaw video made me want to have a bandsaw. I got one christmas 2018!
Seamless, just like a redone Star Wars movie.
Awesome work Steve! 😁👌🏻🎞️✂️🎞️👍🏻👊🏻
Hello Steve ,
I'm not a woodworker I'm a water pump engineer but I teach a good wood working with your video.
Can we talk about how slick that transition at 5:40 was?? That's actually a difficult cinematic transition to pull off, which requires not only having the same focal length, but also angle of attack, (close enough) lighting, and aperture. Good work, Steve
I had to replay it many times over to see the transition from the old video.
It would be cool to see multiple band saw boxes that are all seemingly random shapes, but have slots and protrusions that let them link together to form a single larger shape. Somewhat like the block puzzle. Different shaped individual pieces that all link together form a larger unit.
Didn't see the cut, great job Steve
You must have a Delorean. There n back. Remarkable. Nice job as always.
Really, a great video. Liked it!
Perfection!! Couldn't even tell at all!! LOL!
Potatoes and Pork Chops. Your video made me hungry, Thank you very much for all the hard work, and knowledge!
I had no idea what a bandsaw box was. I don't own or have access to a bandsaw. Still found it interesting
Totally seamless. Like Zemeckis.
Hilarious, and great. Thanks!
Nice watch band.
Seamless! Haha! Perfect video Steve and as usual, you have created a fun, inspirational video. Loving your lock-down short videos. Perfect for when I have a few minutes spare. 😀👍🏻
Like the box itself, the video has seams, but still works great!! Thanks.
can't get enough of that snarky sarcasm! good thing you got that attitude or alse you would never get to where you are now, hell you wouldn't have posted this or the previous videos without some kind of confidence in what you have to offer.
A little tip. Make sure the blade is 90 degrees to the table. If it's off a little the drawer won't fit in.
Steve, you're outrageous - never noticed the sound quality differential, at all ;D New or old footage - it's a great little box. Stay cool :D
Been trying to come up with some other ideas for projects. Always wanted to try these so thanks for the idea! Love the daily videos!
Mad editing skillz!
GREAT JOB !!! as usual !!!
Nice job, I was always want I g to learn how this wad done. Know I know. Thanks! All I need is a bandsaw now.😊🌲
Seamless transition. Had no idea.
Very Nice video 👍👍
I tried making a bandsaw box after seeing the old video. Thank God there is NO video footage of it. It did not got well, LOL. Great video Steve. Wish I could tell where you added in the old footage at. LOL
normally dont do this but second and love the daily vids
I love how simple you make it... Proud to be a mere mortal. 😁
Hahaha what a great transition!
Not a single drop of blood, but you got my like anyway, I love your videos!
You crack me up Steve!!
Pretty fantastic job, Steve! Beautiful little box! 😃
I may try to make it as well!!!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

You are getting good at this RUclips thing. Keep practicing. You'll get there someday.
Too funny and still simple enough for novices to follow
Awesome re-do, but I think I saw the original build, maybe I’ll try “again” haha. Love the short format ; it’s hard to keep us old people awake.
Holy guacamole! It took you that long to make the band saw box!!! You grew a beard and aged like 10+ yrs.
Any woodworker worth her/his salt can change the wood type with a few expertly aimed bandsaw cuts 🤣
Nice work CGI Team! 48 hours well spent, I'm sure!
Well done!!
What a great editing..... Jedi technique I guess.
I made one of those boxes & others also, i made mine with 1/4 in cedar stacked up to about 3 in. I made several they were a hit with everyone I had a ball I had forgot & think I`ll do it again
