- And now.. From Norwich! Broadcasting legend Nicholas Parsons talks about the show and also the first bit of an episode from about 1980, though I stand to be corrected! Organ courtesy of 1950's US TV.
That intro brings tears to my eyes. Lost family members who used to watch this without fail. Good old days as they say. Nicholas Parsons RIP. Brilliant presenter.
R.I.P Nicholas Parsons 96 another Legend gone but will never be forgotten
RIP Nicholas. Thanks for all the entertainment over the years, especially for Sale of the Century and Just a Minute You will be sorely missed.
This reminds me of how great the 1970s where. A safe time.
RiP nicholas Parsons 1923 2020
Takes me back 35 years!
R. I. P Mr Parsons! 👼😢🙋
Tonight from Norwich the quiz if the week.
N.P was a genius,
R.I.P Nicholas you were the man...thank you for so many great years sir.
RIP Nicholas Parsons!
I was just saying the other day to a dear friend, there isn`t enough Hammond Organ on todays gameshows.
RIP Nicholas Parsons and thanks for the memories.
This was much better than the complicated Three Two One and Dusty Bin.
Nicholas Parsons was great in Dr Who, when Sylvester McCoy was the Doctor.
Nicholas Parsons was great game Show host & Presenter. Very clever he set questions to. I loved the girl hosts in skimpy outfits; very sexy. In those days the prizes were state of the Arts. You could win nice holidays & weekend breaks & star prize family car. Great to see contestants winning prizes. Ordinary people becoming stars for a day by answering questions & competing for prizes. I have to admit though organ playing that was right for it's time sounds dated now but as Nicholas Parsons would say on Radio four 'Just a Minute'. In our thoughts & prayers the late Nicholas Parsons who died aged 96.
.... and the organ was, and still is, perhaps, played by Peter Fenn!!
Hammond X5 and Leslie 760 is what I believe Peter Fenn Played. Still do his little “finish” after each instant sale!!
Hi my name is Matthew I was wondering have you got any archive of LWT

Nostalgia overload
and there they are tonights star attractions. just as john benson says that the beautiful hostesses come into view.
And now from Norwich...
I'll take the Orient Express holiday, stuff the car, but the organ is cooool!!
RIP Nicholas Parsons
And Now, Live From Norwich, it's the quiz of the week.
That show must have broken the Sunday trading laws as contestents spent some of their winnings to buy goods in an era where everything apart from the corner shop and the pub were shut on a Sunday.
It must have been the only store apart from the corner shop and pub that were open on a Sunday.
@darrowby1972 i take it you are an fan of peter fenn who played organ on this best ever quiz.
@Kevo00 No - there is one featured, later on, in a different programme. At 0:05 there's a blue mini-metro to the left.
That's a clip from a different episode.
Given that the star prize is a Mini-Metro, this must have been broadcast, at the earliest, in August, 1983.
RIP Nicolas parsons
Do The ladies come with the prizes
And now pissed from Norwich. My winning slogan is Never Ever Ever Bloody Anything Ever
@SiLoJayLo It was a Ford Fiesta...
do you have the full episode?
I'd much rather purchase a date with that model!
'70s humour. 😉
Well I know he’s passed away but Nicholas Parsons is not telling the truth about his allegation that he set the SotC questions. My old drama teacher set the questions & was able to build a house on the proceeds. He used to tell me that Parsons was a stupid & arrogant man whom he couldn’t stand. So there!
Karen Loughlin(ex Bond girl A View to a Kill with Carole Ashby(ex page 3 girl and Bond girl A View to a Kill & Octopussy) Karen married Graeme Souness(Liverpool & Scotland) Nicholas Parsons did the voice of Tex Tucker in Gerry Anderson puppet adventure 'Four Feather Falls' and his wife Denise Brier was Zelda in 'Terrahawks' Nicholas was also stooge to Arthur Haynes & Benny Hill.
0:22 Old car *!*
its a Ford Fiesta!
Now that is one cheesy organ :)
So American and so banal. Lol
Lol he died and it's hilarious.
