    Great explanation. As a FTG on an SSBN in the late 70s I had several opportunities to pop out MK37s. Both Mod 0s and 3s. Even got a chance to unload a MK14 via the muzzle door.

      As late as 1983 we were still teaching about the Mk37 and we had the manuals and equipment for the Mk14. It was only in 1985 that we had an overhaul and our fire control was upgraded so these older systems could not be used.

    Once it's several issues were finally resolved the Mk 14 ended up being a pretty decent torpedo, despite its somewhat small warhead.
