I miss Peru and the good energy you feel in cusco is something you can't describe you have to be there to understand it.... i went for a few weeks and stayed for 3 wonderful years
Hello Dora 👋 We miss Peru too 🇵🇪💛 Cusco is such a great place to be and we are envious that you lived there for three years 😊 Thank you for sharing that story with us 🙌
Thanks for sharing your journey! I’ll be there in 2 weeks . Gonna do the train to Macchu Picchu, Rainbow Mountain hike and some alpine mountaineering . Can’t wait ! 🙏🏻
Thank you for this awesome comment Joseph 🙌 That sound like an amazing trip you have planned to Peru 🧳✈️🇵🇪🧗♂️ Have an amazing time, you are going to love it there 😀
you are one of very few people who would pick expedition over vistadome. in your opinion, is vistadome really worth the extra $20. i don't think it is but so many people are riding the vistadome.
Thanks for posting the video. My wife and I are going in the first part of May how long is the train ride, and how long does it take to get to Machu Picchu with the bus? I'M trying to figure out what time to buy our entrance tickets to Machu Picchu. Thank you for your help in advance.
Happy to post the video, thank you for watching 🙌 From Cusco to Machu Picchu City (Aguas Calientes) was about 5 hours long. For the bus, you can only arrive one hour prior to your Machu Picchu entry time, but it takes 15 -20 minutes to the entry of Machu Picchu from Machu Picchu City (Aguas Calientes). We hope this helps and we hope you enjoy your time in Peru 🧳✈️🇵🇪
We felt very lucky to be in Peru. It is amazing 🇵🇪💛 And we understand the feeling. We had many plans before the world shut down and ended up staying in Cambodia for seven months 🇰🇭 We loved it there, but are glad things are heading in the right direction so we can explore even more of the world 🌎
Hi there! so amazing! As I plan my Machu Picchu trip (post Covid) , do you know if you were able to (or if you tried) to enter the site earlier than what your ticket time said to enter? For example, my ticket to enter says from 1400-1500…. Im wondering if you think they May let me in early (weekday - low season) in thr AM like when they first open? Or would i have to wait until that Time? Thanks in advanced for any information.
Hi Ruben, great question 👏 Unless something has changed since we were there, I don't think they let people in early. Our timed entry was 2p and we were not allowed to board the buses until 1:20p. We hope you enjoy your trip to Peru 🧳✈️🇵🇪 You may have already watched it, but we did film a video on Machu Picchu to show the overall experience.
Thanks Emilio 🙌 We put a lot of our tips and recommendations in this video and our Machu Picchu video (ruclips.net/video/wZP796Hd5GE/видео.html). With that said, we use a service called Faredrop (created by the massive RUclipsrs Kara and Nate) and frequently see good deals to fly to Peru. Also, if you are looking to explore more of Peru, there is a company called PeruHop that we used to explore and see much of Peru. Other than those tips, we would say to get to Peru as soon as you can because it is such an amazing country 🇵🇪💛
@@emonty21 Thanks Emilio, that means a lot to us 🙌 If you ever have questions, please reach out anytime. We hope you have an incredible trip to Peru. We can't say enough good things about the country and hope to travel there again one day 🧳✈️🇵🇪

Hi! First, thank you so much for sharing all of your insight on Peru! It has been helping my husband and I greatly to prepare for our trip next week! Wondering if you decided to take a plane from Lima to Cusco. When trying to book online we notice a huge difference in price between the Latam Peru/US site. We have been hearing that there is a ‘foreigners tax’ that can be charged at the gate for foreigners. Do you know this to be true?
Hi Natalie 👋 Thank you for this absolutely amazing comment, we really appreciate it 🙌 We are so glad our Peru series has been helpful for planning your upcoming trip. You are going to love Peru 🇵🇪💛 We did fly from Lima, to Cusco, and back to Lima, but did not encounter any foreigners tax at the gate. From what I can remember, it was a smooth travel day. I can't say for sure the tax doesn't exist, but we did not encounter it on any of our flights in Peru. We hope this helps and that you and your husband have an amazing time in Peru 🧳✈️🇵🇪 If you have any other questions, please feel free to reach out 😃
Hi Vanessa. Great question. When we took the train, we did not need proof of our vaccination. With that said, we usually have our vaccination cards with us just in case. if we don't, we always have a picture of our vaccination cards, front and back. A picture of our vaccination card has sufficed every time we have used it. We hope you have an amazing time in Peru 🧳✈️🇵🇪
They are called motion sickness relief wristbands and we got ours on Amazon (amzn.to/3EkqnKk). They do a good job, but Alicia will often take a motion sickness medication prior to a boat ride or bumpy car ride, etc. Hope this helps 🙌
Hi Ms. April M 👋 Currently, though this could change, it looks like PeruRail requires all passengers over 18 years old present their vaccination card or negative test taken no more than 48 hours prior to the departure travel date. Hope this helps 😀
Hi William. Great question. We carry a WANDRD PRVKE Travel Backpack 31L. We are actually selling one of ours. Let us know if you are interested. Also, we have a full list of all the gear we use on our website ( thepassportcouple.com/travel-essentials-list/ ).
Thank you for leaving us a comment Phil and Nichole 🙌The train experience is different, for sure, and there are pluses and minuses. The minuses are obvious, but the huge plus is how different the experience was at Machu Picchu. It was empty, we couldn't believe it. Now, for the sake of tourism, we hope that changes soon. But for the moment, we took it all in for everything it was worth 😀
Bk4ever, thank you for giving our channel a try, we really appreciate it 🙌 We're sorry to hear you felt we were complaining, it certainly wasn't our intention nor the message we wanted to put forth. @@ThePassportCouple if by interesting you mean comically worse then yes. Im glad you got to see machu picchu. Im going to chose Jordan instead this time around so I can see a world wonder without having to perform security theatre for it.
Hey! I just rode with PeruRail and it was a really terrible experience. I just want to let people know today that its a scam so that they don't have to have the small experience as me. Simply, they drive you mostly in a sh*tty smelly bus and not in a train. If you want more info, feel free to send me a message.
