I feel you there! The Deluxe Editions are such high quality and we've been getting a lot of hardcover announcements as of late too. I love the Girl from the Other Side Deluxe Editions from Seven Seas and can't wait to get the Vinland Saga Deluxe Editions from Kodansha. Seems like more and more publishers are releasing hardcovers/larger formats, which is awesome to see!
Brilliant recommendations again Kristin, and I agree 100% about DanDaDan, its so much fun, definitely one of my favourite manga now. And I just picked up all the volumes of Pluto, can’t wait to read it.
Thank you so much!!! It is so much fun as you said. Absolutely absurd in the best way possible too! Awesome to hear that it's one of your favorites also! I really hope you enjoy Pluto! One of my all-time favorite sci-fi and I'm excited to hear what you think!
I am new to manga and I have become crazy addicted to all of this from anime to collecting figures🥳 Your channel I simply awesome and because of your reviews I will be reading incredible mangas. Thanks ❤
Thanks Kristen welcome back ! So for me vampires are overplayed and I’m a Bram Stokers Dracula purist I own multiple leather collectible volumes it’s one of the books books ever written, and Francis Ford Coppolas Dracula with Keanu Reeves and Gary Oldman alienated audiences members including myself UNTIL YOU READ the 1897 novel and then OMG you realize Coppola filmed an EXACT facsimile of the novel on film! When you describe Pluto it sounds identical to Philip K Dicks Blade Runner ( Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?) arguably the most influential sci fi novel ever written EXCEPT for Frank Herbert’s Dune of course !
Thank you so much!! I'm happy to be back! I feel you about Dracula. There are a lot of vampire stories out there as of late. Shinichi Sakamoto's artwork is beyond anything I've ever seen. He tends to base his works on stories or events in history he's inspired by and it's always interesting seeing what he comes up with next. You are definitely right about Bram Stoker's Dracula. It is an absolute classic and it's awesome that you own a lot of the leather volumes. I've seen some of the leather editions and they are beautiful. I've been wanting to get into some sci-fi novels, so I will have to check out Dune and Blade Runner! I've seen both of the films, but need to read them also! Thanks as always for commenting and for the welcome back!
Awesome recommendations. I love Pluto and witch hat atletier. I'm reading vol 2 of summer time rendering right now and its soo good. I'll be looking into the other recommendations available in english soon. Thnx 🙏
I appreciate it so much as always!!! Man, both are so unbelievably good. I'm happy to hear that you are enjoying Summertime Rendering as well. There's so much to look forward to in the coming volumes and it always surprises you haha Thanks so much again!
Hey! Just wanted to stop in and say keep up the good work. I found your channel by accident but have been binging your content and website since. I recently started collecting manga in physical form after previously getting everything on my e-reader. Your edition guides and comparisons are very helpful. The recommendation videos are great to scope out new series as well. Due to costs here in Aus I usually have to go with the 3in1 omnibuses to collect but occasionally delve into the deluxe editions or singles when it makes sense. Keep it up! Really enjoy the videos!
I just stumbled onto your channel. Thoughtful and well developed recommendations. Please start including timestamps with series name and you got my sub.
I recommend you read World Trigger one day, I don’t want to spoil but it’s so good with the lore and world building and has unique fighting scenes that’s not all about power 💯 Also I was curious if you’re reading the Boruto manga since you love Naruto
Happy to hear you found some that you want to check out! All great choices. I definitely recommend the hardcovers. They are beautifully made and high-quality.
I apologize, I’m really tired and may be missing something obvious, the French and Japanese mangas you review, do you speak the language or are there English releases somewhere that aren’t published volume hard copies? I’d love to read a few of these horror/occult Japanese recommendations
So jojo, berserk, hellsing, blade of immortal, trigun, Vinland saga, Parasyte, Summertime rendering, junji ito stuff, tower of god So far these are the hardcover mangas available?
Hey some really good series. I like Jagaaaan, Dandadan, Frieren and Gannibal. I'll check out the other series you mentioned. Have you ever read Bokutachi ga Yarimashita? It's a really underrated series.. the same author did Jagaaaan. I think you would also like Helck and Delicious in Dungeon.
Hey, thank you so much!! I'm happy to hear you enjoy the recommendations. Definitely some good picks from the list and some of my favorites. I'm excited to hear what you think if you check any of the others out! I have! Bokutachi ga Yarimashita is for sure underrated and it's one of my favorites written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro. You are definitely right about Helck. So happy its releasing. I have Volume 1 of Delicious in Dungeon and need to finally get around to reading it! Thank you for recommending them!
Please try one punch man manga ineffable artwork with consistency from first to last, sensational plot and storytelling has one the best antagonist and protagonist in all fiction,A very underrated manga.please try never gonna dissapoint
Good recommendation, I can confirm as I already read some of the titles recommended here like Pluto, Frieren, 100 Girlfriends(this one is very silly) are all very good in their respective categories with for me of course Pluto being the best read. I personally will check the eldrich horror one and the cute magic atellier one for sure The only one that I read and didnt like was DanDaDan, it was just not to my liking purely subjective, only correction I can make to it is that the only think connecting it to series like Hells paradise and CSM is very good art, plot and thematics seems nothing like them, but I only read very small portion of the story so in the long run I may be wrong. Also for my Shounen boys I have one personal recommendation, this is a webtoon so this and the colored pages might put some people off, but “Ordeal” by Brent Bristol is a very promising serie about fights between superhumans.
Some very good recommendations. Most of them I already read in some shape or form. But I'm gonna check out Yomotsuhegui for sure. As for my recommendations: Manhole, by Tsutsui Tesuya. Horror/Mystery and 6000, by Koike Nokuto, Horror/Mystery/Supernatural. Probably his best series so far. Both are rather short (4 volumes each) and completed .Although I'm not sure if there are English translations available (I'm only aware of Italian and French releases).
Hey! Yomotsuhegui hasn't gone up for preorder yet. Seven Seas announced its arrival in February 2024 and it should be hitting sites soon! Hope that helps!
Thank you for showing the art. Unlike the Omnibus dude whom says he refuses to show the art because he's afraid of copyright. 😑 I can't buy a manga unless I connect with the art, so what you're doing is in fact bringing more business their way because the art is the selling point at which a lot of people go out and purchase the manga. Thank you so much for that! Thank you for not just showing us the covers like that other dude. 🙄
Midnight children you said its "changed for a modern age" that line scares me. Whenever i hear that it usually means we changed everything to reflect twitter
I really wanted to like dandadan I love the horror and supernatural elements also yokai inspired stories but the only thing that ruins it for me is the sexualization and yup :( whitout that I would've definetly bought it. It's a shame they had to ruin such a good manga with stuff like thay
I feel like I've been so spoiled by deluxe editions, it's hard going back to small format when you get used to see all the drawing details
Yeah, I was thinking about getting the Hellsing singles but then remembered how amazing the Berserk Deluxe editions were.
I feel you there! The Deluxe Editions are such high quality and we've been getting a lot of hardcover announcements as of late too. @@AnimeCollective oh wow Vinland Saga is getting a deluxe edition!!? That will be a must by for me for sure
@@kevincaron1790 i didnt know about the vinland saga deluxe editions. Lucky i found out about this
@@AnimeCollective Do you know if the vinland saga deluxe is going to be leather like the hellsing and berserk deluxe editions

Yeah, Dandadan is awesome! Extremely beautiful artwork

Summertime Rendering is one of my faves! Ive fallen in love with it. Its on disney + too i think.
Dandadan is literally my top series right now, right next to Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days is so good! Both are definitely up there for me as well!
YOMOTSUHEGUI--- I am buying this series- THANKS for the recommendations!!

Summertime rendering - hardcover editions or paperback, what would you recommend?
Happy to hear you found some that you want to check out! All great choices. I definitely recommend the hardcovers. They are beautifully made and high-quality.
Well you sold me on freinen and summer rending and freinen is not something I would usually read. But you made me want to
Thank you for Manga recommendations
Gannibal looks really interesting
Finally some new interesting titles💪
I apologize, I’m really tired and may be missing something obvious, the French and Japanese mangas you review, do you speak the language or are there English releases somewhere that aren’t published volume hard copies? I’d love to read a few of these horror/occult Japanese recommendations
Scions of the underworld… im assuming it very inspired by hp lovecraft… and if it is then i cant wait to read it when it gets english release
Gannibal looks damn good.
Yomotsuhegui: Scions of the Underworld... Wow!!! 👍🏻
The artwork looks out of this world
Where do I get gannibal, is there an English version?
Any recommendations on the level of "Dark Gathering"?
So jojo, berserk, hellsing, blade of immortal, trigun, Vinland saga, Parasyte, Summertime rendering, junji ito stuff, tower of god
So far these are the hardcover mangas available?
Also hardcovers

Is there an app or something that I could use to translate the only Japanese manga?
Witch Hat Atelier is fantastic.
Have you seen touge oni?
It's a decent manga, a hidden gem imo
