Imitating aint the same as good producing mate. I can tell from experience 🙋🏻♂️ the hardest part of a song and beat lies in the idea, the vibes you tryna bring with the song. You basically skip all the mental work and just focus on the hardware part which requires no mental work whatsoever. Not to talk down on remakes or aiden tho, im doing it myself im a big fan of aidens work. But real producers dont learn from youtuber producers mate, it’s kinda 2 different subgenres as a producer you could say.
BigBoy Finesse yeah ok I see where ur coming from. And btw I was sort of joking when I said that because the people who produced the songs aren’t obviously going to learn from the song they produced themselves 😅 but I was just trying to emphasise in how much detail Aiden goes to for the remakes, and especially also some of the Genius deconstructed these days are quite vague at least for me 😅
@@bigboyfinesse8310 So many successful producers have learned from online tutorials instead of going to a school and paying thousands of dollars for it, in fact many successful producers recommend learning from online tutorials instead of paying an unnecessary amount of money to learn what's already available on the internet. Going to a school for music production would have been a great choice years ago, but now there's so much information available on the internet for free that there wasn't 20 years ago
yo you have mad talent and you can recreate songs perfectly,i don't understand why you are so underrated (also since i saw ur videos i started using omnisphere and rc-20 retro color, and that 2 bois help me a lot in my tracks)
I've been subbed for a few months now, and I still can't believe this dude hasn't hit at LEAST 100k subs yet. The remakes are perfect every time, and the amount of effort he puts into them really pays off. I'm hoping this dude's channel blows up soon
@@trapagliabeats Mike Dean played it on analog live in the studio session, but its the Spelunking preset on the KORG MonoPoly and I would turn up the attack a bit. You're welcome boys
There's a sound design tutorial for all sounds in r.i.p screw in reverbmachine.com. The main sound (spelunken) its made out of a single triangle wave + pluck filter envelope and a ton of reverb
Hey Aiden, thanks for what you've doing, it's been really helpful. Your last beat is clean af, could you show your mixing and mastering process? The 808 & kick sounded insane
there’s a dirty synth bass after he says “i’m too wavy think i need a lyft” that you left out though. it’s unlike you to leave out details. everything okay at home Aiden?😔😂
As someone who’s recently gotten into music production, I’ve been struggling with the music theory side of it. How did you learn music theory and what would you say is the best way to learn music theory and get better at production? btw love the content man, keep up the great work 🤞🏼
Just don’t give up bro, musics hard and no ones good at making music as soon as they start, the more time you spend on making music the better you’ll become, also watch some internet money videos
you don’t need a ton of music theory to be good at making beats but all of the things i know at this point has come from years of watching youtube videos and drawing your own conclusions from midi. look for patterns especially. it takes time to memorize everything so be patient. if you’re truly passionate for making music then you’ll put the time in. as for production, it’s really about experimenting. try something that some people wouldn’t think of, like reversing or adding weird effects. also try exporting your midi and messing around with it, like chopping, reversing, transposing, speeding up the bpm and adding halftime/gross beat. another trick i’ve picked up from just messing around is if you transpose a note or group notes 5 semitones up or down, it will work within your scale. hopefully all that helps 👍
Questions for your AMA: Favorite three effects? What's your process for finding such accurate sounds for your remakes? Have any of the original produces of the songs you've remade ever reached out to you after seeing your videos?
Aiden doesn’t just do remakes, he’s a whole detective tryna find the presets
Dudes a preset P.I.
“now we’re adding some rc20 retrocolor”
it’s iconic
that and gross beat halfspeed
Just when i read the comment 😂
Naah its retrochella
At this point I would say that the producers themselves would learn more from Aiden’s videos, than their own interview with Genius

The 808 slides werent 100% accurate, and the hi hat pattern changes when don Tolliver's verse starts, but other that nice work 👍
yep the second glide is a half beat early I think
Also, it’s not only the clap, there’s also a metro snare on the off beats and so
Melody needs to be pitched up 12 st for parts of the song as well
Why didn’t you do the remake???
